The defect: Highland Ridge RV (Highland Ridge) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Open Range, Mesa Ridge, Highlander, Silverstar fifth wheels, and 2019-2020 Open Range, Mesa Ridge and Silverstar travel trailers equipped with Dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the O-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak.
The risk: A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Highland Ridge will notify owners, and dealers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed on May 3, 2021. Owners may contact Highland Ridge customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Highland Ridge's number for this recall is 9904564.

The contact owns a 2019 Highland Ridge Highland RV. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH and hauling the travel trailer, the axle weld and frame fractured. The contact was unable to pull the trailer. The contact stated that the road was bumpy while driving. The vehicle was towed. There was a fire within the axle three years prior. Lippert Industries, the manufacturer, was contacted by phone. The insurance company inspected the trailer and determined there was a manufacturer defect. An appointment was scheduled but it was uncertain that the RV was repairable.
