I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 TOYOTA HINO 338 EXPEDITER GVW 33000LBS TRUCK. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER 35 TIMES, MORE THEN 10 WARRANTY REPAIRS. THE TRUCK HAS HAD A TURBO HOSE BLOW, LEAVING THE DRIVER STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF BUSY ROADS ON MORE THEN 3 OCCASION. THE TRUCK HAS MULTIPLE AIRCONDITION, BATTERY, ALTERNATOR PROBLEMS. AFTER A COURT ORDERED INSPECTION IT WAS FOUND THE ONE OF THE AC PIPES IS CORRODING AND COULD CAUSE A LEAK INTO THE DRIVER CABIN. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HINO 258. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. HE HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE BRAKING SYSTEM FIVE TIMES. TYPICALLY, THE FAILURE RECURS TWO HUNDRED MILES AFTER THE REPAIRS ARE MADE. NONE OF THE REPAIRS HAVE SUFFICIENTLY REMEDIED THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE LEFT SPRING IN THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED. THE CONTACT IS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

TT-15-016 The purpose of this publication is to communicate the standard measuring positions on the Hino chassis. In some cases, the customer may report a visual chassis posture concern where the chassis appears to be leaning more towards the driver side or passenger side. The following publication can be referenced to obtain the manufacture?s measurement positions and specifications. Should the truck not meet the specifications, you should consider the following potential causes noted in the inspection guideline section below.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

SB-15-026 A subject vehicle may exhibit an engine oil leak or engine coolant leaking externally from the engine head gasket sealing area on the exhaust manifold side of the engine. An improved head gasket has been made available as a service part and should be used if replacement of the head gasket is necessary. Improvement of the head gasket includes the addition of rubber seals around the engine oil and engine coolant port holes.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
