1994 Honda Accord Heating & air conditioning Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the heating or air-conditioning system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Heating & air conditioning reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

PROBLEMS WITH ABS SYSTEM AND AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR.*MR THE ABS FAILED WITH LESS THAN 80000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT IT WAS NOT REQUIRED FOR SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER MOVED TO VIRGINIA, AND NOW THE VEHICLE WON'T PASS INSPECTION UNLESS THE ABS LIGHT IS OFF. THE A/C COMPRESSOR ALSO FAILED WITHIN THE FIRST THREE YEARS. *NLM

AC UNIT DEFECTIVE FROM THE TIME I DROVE OFF THE LOT. COMPLETE LOSS OF COOLING ANNUALLY FOR 6 CONSECUTIVE YEARS FOR A TOTAL OF SEVEN TIMES. (THE FIRST TIME WAS ON THE DAY THAT I BOUGHT IT). HONDA FINALLY REFUSED TO REPAIR IT AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT, EVEN THOUGH THEY REPAIRED THE SAME PROBLEM EVERY YEAR, FOR 6 YEARS. THIS YEAR I HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER REPAIR SERVICE FIX IT AT MY OWN EXPENSE. *AK
