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

I AM THE SHOP MANAGER FOR A PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ILLINOIS. WE HAVE A NUMBER OF 2006 AND 2007 INTERNATIONAL CE200 71 PASSENGER SCHOOL BUSES. THERE IS 2 ISSUES WE HAVE HAD REPEATED FAILURES WITH CONCERNING THE BRAKING SYSTEM. *TR #1: ABS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE DETERIORATION/RUST IN THE BRAKE ROTOR TONER RINGS. SEVERAL OF THESE ROTORS WERE REPLACED UNDER THE OE WARRANTY WITH THE UNITS A YEAR OR LESS OLD. THE OE REPLACEMENTS ARE NO BETTER-REPEAT FAILURES. THERE IS AT LEAST ONE COMPANY MANUFACTURING AN IMPROVED DESIGN ROTOR THAT I AM OF THE OPINION WILL GREATLY IMPROVE THE RATE OF FAILURE. DISCUSSION WITH OUR BUS DEALER INTIMATES THAT THE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONS STAND ON THIS ISSUE IS THAT IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM THAT THESE ROTORS RUST AND DETERIORATE THIS QUICKLY BECAUSE IT IS CAUSED BY THE ELEMENTS. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THESE FAILURES ARE EXTREMELY PREMATURE, THERE SEEMS TO BE A "FIX" AVAILABLE, AND THAT IC SHOULD BE RECALLING THESE UNITS. #2: PARK BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM DUE TO REPEATED FAILURES OF AN ELECTRIC COIL THAT CONTROLS A HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT THAT KEEPS THE BRAKE FROM BEING APPLIED WHEN ACTIVATED. THIS FAILURE CAN AND HAS CAUSED THE PARK BRAKE TO APPLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON A NUMBER OF OUR UNITS REPEATEDLY. THERE HAS BEEN 3 FAILURES ON ONE IN PARTICULAR, A 2007 MODEL WITH 28000 MILES PRESENTLY. *TR

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
This tool is designed to compare Diamond Logic feature data across multiple vehicle configuration files. It allows users to quickly load files either manually or directly from the Diamond Logic Builder Vehicles folder using VIN-based selection. As files are added or removed, the comparison runs automatically with no manual action required. The program presents results in an interactive table that shows feature codes, descriptions, access levels, and whether each feature is present in each selected file. Built-in search, filtering, and sorting make it easy to locate specific features or focus only on differences between files. Column visibility can be customized to show or hide descriptions and access information as needed. Users can remove files individually or clear all files at once, with results updating instantly. The tool also includes reporting and export options that reflect exactly what is visible on screen, allowing results to be printed, copied, saved as text, or exported to CSV for use in Excel or other spreadsheet tools. Overall, the program streamlines the process of comparing vehicle feature configurations, helping users quickly identify differences, validate setups, and document results without manual comparison or external tools.
