Every time I pump gas it spits back out at me. No matter what I do. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous

ball joint recall was issues and done on paper in August 2006 on the Jeep liberty. Both ball joint have failed on this vehicle at different times this year while driving the vehicle and Jeep has declined to take any responsibility in any way. This is a major safety concern as any kind of speed while this occurs would be catastrophic. I suspect that Jeep submitted that the recall was fixed when in fact it was not and documents were falsified.

The vehicle was taken to another certified mechanic to be repaired. Two years later, the steering was loose again. The vehicle was taken for inspection, and it failed the inspection again. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched and found information about NHTSA Campaign Number: 06V288000 (Suspension); and associated the failure with the recall. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 87,803.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2006 Jeep Liberty on January 16, 2026, from a used car dealer. While attempting to obtain insurance for the vehicle, the insurance company discovered a mileage discrepancy. The insurance company informed the contact that the vehicle could not be insured due to the mileage discrepancy. The dealer was contacted however, while attempting to retrieve a Carfax report; Carfax could not provide the report. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was 143,000; however, the insurance company discovered that the mileage was 168,000 in 2020.

Hello, my name is Jamie Woodley. I'm filing this complaint on my 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport. Currently, there's a recall for the Suspension Rear lower control arms. I've read the previous recalls on it, which I saw this vehicle has been reprogrammed before. I've only had the vehicle for a few months and I've had an oil leak, bad thermostat, and the transmission is busted. I can't reverse or drive over 10 mph. I heard the transmission may be in Fail Safe mode. I had Midas do a full inspection, but they failed to acknowledge the lower control arms by suggesting brakes. I knew it wasn't the brakes. The technician drove the vehicle after the brakes were done, but I still heard/felt a problem with the Suspension. There is a recall for that from 2018. I purchased the vehicle last year in March 2020. Also, the rear lift gate was dented when I bought it like the vehicle may have been in an accident. This was a vehicle I purchased for my 2 kids and I. This vehicle has been giving me problems since I bought it. The back driver's side window won't go all the way up. I have to keep a stick in between just to keep the window from falling all the way in the door. Definitely not a safe vehicle. My Engine stalled out on the free way while I was on my way to pick up my kids. After my oil change, no oil light came on. I am seeking help with any buy back programs or a valued trade in appraisal. I have a quote from Conrad's on how much it's going to cost to fix it and the price is over $3,000. I have extended warranty, but am unsure if it will cover any service requests. That is pretty outrageous that it's going to cost that much to fix it. I've been at Take 5 to keep up on the maintenance and was told I had an oil leak somewhere. On top of the brakes, I've spent money on 4 new tires, 6 ignition coils, an O2 Sensor, and I bought a New PCM/ECU computer I have yet to have installed. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the abnormal sound was due to a lower control arm failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recalls repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. I'VE HAD LOWER BALL JOINTS, BUSHING AND CONTROL ARMS ALREADY REPLACED ONCE IN 2017 AND NOW THEY ARE OUT AGAIN. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY MOPAR THAT MY 2006 LIBERTY WAS MADE 5 WEEKS AFTER THE LAST ONE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL.THIS IS INEXCUSABLE. I'VE HAD 3 WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED. THIS IS A FATALITY WAITING TO HAPPEN IF I DRIVE. I STARTED HEARING AND FEELING THE BALL JOINTS GOING BAD ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. I HARDLY HAVE DRIVEN IT SINCE I WORK FROM HOME NOW. CAN CHRYSLER SEE ALL THESE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE BALL JOINTS AND STILL NOT ADD THESE 06 JEEP'S TO THAT RECALL. THIS IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS AT ALL. YESTERDAY MY ABS AND ESB LIGHTS CAME ON. I DID NOTICE A BIT OF GRINDING TYPE NOISE APPROXIMATELY TWICE IN A FULL DAY OF DRIVING. TODAY, SAME THING, BUT LIGHTS WENT OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES RIGHT AFTER START UP. MY BRAKES AND TIRES WERE REPLACED IN LATE AUGUST. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID MY BRAKES WERE IN GOOD ORDER BUT THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR IS BAD. IF THIS DOESN'T CORRECT ISSUE, A WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND RESET THE STEERING ANGLE IS RECOMMENDED. NONE OF THESE ISSUES WOULD WARRANT THE ODD GRINDING NOISE WHEN BREAKING AND ONLY OCCASSIONALLY DOES THIS HAPPEN AND IT DID NOT OCCUR WHEN THE TECHNICIAN DROVE IT. THIS WAS ALL ON CITY STREETS AND DRIVING STRAIGHT IN GOOD WEATHER. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY OWNERS OF THE 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES, SENSORS, ROTORS AND ALL THINGS BRAKES BUT STILL EXPERIENCE THE LIGHTS AND THE NOISE. OFTEN, THERE IS REFERENCE MADE TO THE CLOCK SPRING. SINCE I SAW SO MANY COMPLAINTS AND MY REPAIRMAN WAS SO VAGUE THAT HIS RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD ACTUALLY SOLVE THE ISSUE, I FELT IT IS WORTHY OF INVESTIGATING.

Right stering arm broke when I hit a pot hole

The contact owned a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, a burning odor was detected and there was smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact parked the vehicle at her residence and inspected the vehicle. There were flames coming from the driver's side rear tail light. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. No fire department report was filed. The vehicle remained at the residence but was inoperable and not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000. The VIN was unavailable.

I scheduled an appointment to do a recall with State Line Chrysler 2 weeks in advance. State Line Chrysler, 1001 W 104th St, Kansas City, MO 64114 The recall was: Manufacturer Recall NumberU38, NHTSA Recall Number18V-278. I took the day off work, arrived at 9AM, only to have them tell me they hadn't ordered the parts. I asked them to look at a seat belt issue I was having since I was already there. I called just before closing and they hadn't gotten to it and they advised me to come get my vehicle and reschedule everything when I could secure another day off work. I can't imagine this is how a safety recall and a seat belt issue is supposed to work. I feel obligated to let you know, because of the safety concerns I have for myself and others who may experience something similar.

Two of my sons were involved in a rollover accident. Thankfully, they are ok with minor injuries and bruising. However, none of the airbags deployed.

VEHICLES STALLS AFTER EXTENDED OFF PERIOD. VEHICLE SHUDDERS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. CHRYSLER HAS 2 TSBS TO FIX THIS- 21-016-05 AND 21-009-06 WHICH CALLS FOR REPLACING A TROUBLE PRONE TORQUE CONVERTER. CHRYSLER HAS AN UPDATED TORQUE CONVERTER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM YET WILL NOT TAKE ACTION TO FIX THE VEHICLE EVEN AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS SINCE 2006 TO GET TRANSMISSION FIXED PROPERLY. I WOULD LIKE THIS LOOKED INTO AS MYSELF AND NUMEROUS OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2005-2006 JEEP LIBERTY WITH THE DIESEL ENGINE EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000.

I'VE TO REPLACE THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY 4 TIMES, IT KEEPS BLOWING OUT THE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHT. I'VE ALSO HAD TO PURCHASE 5 A/C COMPESSORS FOR THIS TRUCK AND THE ABS, TRACTION LIGHT STAYS ON.

DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ERROR OF A TIRE, I HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE INTERSTATE THAT ENDED UP TOTALING MY CAR. THE TREAD COMPLETELY SPLIT FROM THE TIRE WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT ANY COLLISIONS OR DAMAGE TO MYSELF OR OTHERS. THE BLOWOUT RIPPED OFF PIECES OF THE FRONT BUMPER, SOME SIDING OF THE CAR, AND CAUSED HUGE COSMETIC DAMAGE IN ADDITION TO WRECKING THE FRAME AND CAUSING SOME INTERNAL DAMAGE, INCLUDING A LEAK OF WIPER FLUID. MY CAR WAS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY (WITH 60,000 MILES) AND THE TIRE WAS A GOODYEAR WRANGLER ST TIRE WITH DOT # M671 EKER. (THERE WAS NO SET OF NUMBERS FOLLOWING THE EKER AS ON MOST TIRES, JUST A BLANK SPACE.)

ON MAY 11, BEGAN TO TRAVEL FROM MONTGOMERY, AL TO FAIRHOPE, AL. APPROX. 100 MILES INTO TRIP (200 YARDS SOUTH OF MILE MARKER 81) INCIDENT OCCURRED. THERE WAS TREAD SEPARATION FROM TIRE WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE-65. PEELING TREAD RIPPED APART/OFF WHEEL WELL LINER, FENDER, RUNNING BOARD, ETC. RESULTING DEBRIS ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR COLLISION BETWEEN MYSELF AND A COMMERCIAL 18-WHEELER. DEFECTIVE TIRES TREAD SEPARATION LOOKS VERY SIMILAR TO PHOTOS OF DAMAGED GOODYEAR WRANGLER SILENT ARMOR TIRES, THE SAME TIRE LINE THAT WAS RECALLED FEB, 2012. THIS TIRE IS ALSO A GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRE WITH IDENTICAL FAILURES AS THOSE RECALLED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE AIR CONDITIONER EMITTED HOT AIR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED A FEW TIMES WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE COMPRESSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THREE PREVIOUS TIMES ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER JEEP MANUFACTURE COMPLIANT LINE BUT THEY WERE NO HELP. I WAS GIVEN A PHONE NUMBER TO A DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I HAVE WARRANTY ON THE WINDOWS THAT ONLY COVER THE LIST PLATE (IF THAT'S THE PROBLEM) FOR MY BACK WINDOW ONLY. THE PROBLEM AFTER RESEARCHING IT THIS MORNING ON THE INTERNET IS THE REGULATORS IN THE WINDOWS WHICH ARE VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR APPROX. $260 PER WINDOW. IN THIS ECONOMY I CAN'T AFFORD TO REPAIR THIS AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BECAUSE THERE IS SOME KIND OF MAL-FUNCTION WITH THE PARTS INSIDE OF THE WINDOWS. THEY NEED TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES BECAUSE OWNER OF THEM WILL SPEND MONEY REPAIRING THE SAME PROBLEM AT LEAST 3 TO 4 TIMES IN ONE YEAR. *TR
