The chrome plating on the interior driver's door release handle has delaminated and became sharp enough to cut my hand pretty bad. I'd like to report this as a safety concern and ask whether Jeep can provide goodwill assistance or replacement parts."
Paint bubbling and aluminum body panel corrosion on hood and front doors of my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (VIN [XXX] ), currently at 63,000 miles. This is a well-documented manufacturing defect affecting 2018-2021 JL Wrangler and 2020-2021 JT Gladiator vehicles with aluminum body panels. Stellantis has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins addressing this exact condition: TSB 31-001-18 (March 2018), TSB 31-001-19 (July 2019), TSB 31-002-20 (October 2020), TSB 31-002-22 (December 2022), and most recently TSB 31-001-26 Revision A (February 2026), all titled "Aluminum Body Panel Corrosion Repair." The corrosion presents as paint bubbling along the leading edge of the hood and on the door panels. Filiform corrosion develops under the paint over many months before becoming visible. My corrosion warranty expired in January 2026, just one month before the latest TSB was issued. I am reporting this defect for federal documentation. The manufacturer has been aware of this defect for over 8 years (since 2018) and continues to issue revised TSBs rather than implementing a recall. A class action lawsuit ([XXX] et al. v. The car which is barely driven, suddenly caught on fire while parked in my home driveway after sitting there for close to 8 hours. so the car wasn't in use at the time. It's completely gone.
While driving higher speeds (45 mph+) I have had my vehicle start shaking very violently which results in me having to slam on my breaks to gain control of my vehicle. When this happens I have been traveling on the highway or interstate which puts other drivers at risk due to me unexpectedly having to come to a halt to gain control of my vehicle. I have taken my vehicle to the mechanic multiple times (dealership twice and local mechanic twice) and I have had everything replaced on the front end that could cause this and it is still happening. Steering dampener has been replaced twice in a year. Mechanic seems to believe that there is a design flaw in the vehicle that is causing it at this point. There is no warning message or anything that gives me any warning. I am scared to drive my vehicle on the highway or interstate.
It started with the engine sounding louder then normal. Then a bad smell in the cab of the vehicle. Later found out it was a exhaust leak that was getting into the vehicle causing headaches and other symptoms of carbon monoxide. Also note the burn marks around the broken bracket that could cause a fire if not mechanically inclined to notice. Not check engine light for this. But when I spoke to the dealership it wasn't new to them. Apparently this has happened to alot of the ecodiesel jeep and gladiators. A common problem that should be resolved before and life threatening injuries result in loss of consciousness or fire.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that that the vehicle was rusted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the door latches, the trunk and hood latches, and several unknown joints were rusted and needed to be replaced. The dealer declined to repair the vehicle under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
vehicle is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon The issue is Wrangler JL Corrosion Issue. I have noticed corrosion on hinges on the driver's door and drivers side hood. I see this as a possible safety concern if it continues to form corrosion.
On 9/29/24 with the rear window removed and the top in a closed position while driving highway speeds, the driver side rear window of my vehicle, without warning, flew off and moments later the rear driver side support flew off. The side windows of the vehicle had previously never been removed. It was a shocking experience that left me quite shaken, yet out of control to mitigate. Fortunately, there were no vehicles immediately behind me taking the impact of flying car parts, however, had there been this could have been deadly. The dealership will not be able to fully access the vehicle until 10/16/24. Upon speaking to the service manager they will take a quick look at it today (9/30)
Issue 1--Recall 19A/NHTSA 23V-116 n some circumstances, the clutch pressure plate may become overheated through friction, which may lead the pressure plate to rapidly fracture. When a pressure plate fractures, it may result in cracks or holes in the transmission case, allowing heated debris to be expelled from the transmission case. Safety Risk Heated debris expelled from the transmission bellhousing may come in contact with an ignition source in the vehicle or surrounding area, potentially leading to a fire. A fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Issue 2--Technical Service Bulletin 31-002-20 issued 10/27/2020 Corrison, rust and chipping of pain which is not only a cosmetic issue but rust can spread and weakned metail in the vehicle making it susceptible to additional premature damage and wear. Reported to dealer in May 2023 with as of this date open service ticket and parts not availble to repair--cosmetic issue is preventing me from receiving full value as a trade in on another vehicle.

This issue was reported to my dealer May 2023 and over 60 days later, the burden is on me to take to a body shop for an estimate to be covered under warranty. Said body shop has had claims open on same issue >120 days with no parts available and no date of parts available. Due to this cosmetic issue on the vehicle, I am unable to trade it in to a dealership for a new car without receiving a lower trade in value. I am now stuck driving a vehicle with cosmetic issues, as I do not want to lose thousands on trade in due to a cosmetic issue that is of no fault of my own.
I made appointment with Galena Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat, Fort Myers, FL for May 4, 2023 at 9 AM to repair the Frame Stud defect (28A/NHTSA 23V-191) on this vehicle. After having received no communication from this dealer after 5 days, I went to pick up the vehicle the evening of May 8, 2023 and discovered no attempt to remedy this defect had been made. My plans are to drive this vehicle from FL to WI for the summer months later this week. Besides making you aware of this situation, I want to have it on the record that I attempted to have the defect remedied in the event it is involved in a motor vehicle accident and would catch fire.
Beginning in January 2023 with approximately 20,000 miles our leased 2021 Jeep Wrangler began to shake uncontrollably while driving on the highway at speeds over 60 mph. The shaking was so significant that while trying to safely guide the car off the highway my husband was shaken into the guardrail causing damage to the right front bumper. We are horrified that Jeep has had this problem for so long and there's NO public notification of the problem.
I just inspected my side panel windows before driving on the road, I had been on the highway for about 10 minutes going about 65pmh when I started to slow down for my exit and my passenger side soft top panel blew off into the highway. A few cars ran it over, I risked my life to retrieve it. Had there been a motorcyclist behind me I’m certain they would have died, as this incident caused others to move trying to avoid the panel as it blew up in the air. My soft top was back at the time, I can’t believe this happened to me and now I’m terrified to drive on the highway even if I replaced this panel. I feel it’s a huge safety risk, I’ve found many other complaints in blogs and on Facebook about it. I also noticed that the passenger panel is double the price of the driver side panel which tells me companies are making $$ of this risk.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the 3-piece hard-top was uneven and he could hear outdoor wind while driving. The contact took the vehicle multiple times to the local dealer to be inspected however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact replaced two of the hard-top pieces but continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15.
