TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. FURTHERMORE, THE DOOR COULD NOT BE CLOSED. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, ALTHOUGH THE WHEELS WOULD TURN. AS OF SEPTEMBER 26, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 161,983.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE REPLACING THE FUEL TANK. ALSO, THEY STATED THAT IT WOULD COST THE CONTACT APPROXIMATELY $500 TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 148,000. *AK

LAND ROVER: VEHICLES IN THE AFFECTED VIN RANGES REQUIRE A REPLACEMENT FUEL TANK. UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES THE FUEL TANK WELD JOINT FOR THE VENT RINGS COULD CRACK PERMITTING FUEL LEAKAGE. *PE
