At vehicle mileage 11,308 with original tires and traveling at highway speed of approximately 70 miles per hour on an interstate highway, the right rear tire suffered a catastrophic, sudden blowout. The loss of control placed the vehicle and its occupants in immediate danger of collision with surrounding highway traffic. The vehicle was towed to Mercedes-Benz of Hilton Head where both rear tires were found to have worn excessively on the inside of the tire due to excessive negative camber built into the factory suspension geometry. Ten days after the blowout, we presented the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Asheville for follow-up inspection. The service department informed us that the replacement tires installed at Hilton Head, while of the correct size, were “non-matching of front stock tire” in that they were not run-flat or noise-canceling and we purchased a second set of replacement tires at the factory-specified grade. The underlying cause of the original failure—the rear suspension geometry—was not examined, corrected, or documented at this visit. At vehicle mileage 16,502 and prior to a long-distance road trip, we specifically presented the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Asheville to request a dedicated safety inspection of the tires, wheel alignment, and brakes. The service department examined the vehicle and explicitly informed us that the alignment was good and the tires were safe for travel. Approximately 2,864 miles into travel following that clearance, the right rear passenger tire again suffered a catastrophic blowout. Both rear tires again were found to be excessively worn on the inside edge. The evidence is no longer circumstantial. The 2024 EQS 450+ is manufactured with rear wheels carrying a significant degree of intentional negative camber—the tops of the rear wheels are angled measurably inward at the factory.

we list the car on 2024 in the same year, EQS450+ 2024 model from S.M Dealer. In a few months after drove the car , I notice about the break having the problem, I took the car to S.M repair center,. Then again, a few months after the same problem, then Mr. Antonio Aranda, the service advisor, has indicated that the car break has been ok and there is no issue. We took the care gain, we had the same problem, and we have told by the same person that there are 2 recalls for this car, I asked why they didn't tell me about the recall, and got no respond. For the 3rd time I took the car to them with the new problem as a very loud explosion sound and a big spark when I was driving on the freeway, witch it call pyrofuse activatin high voltage pyrotechnic disconnect. It basically computer battery electrical failure. When we told Mr. Antonio about he went under the car and took a picture and then showed us a whole and told us because we drove over a bump on the road without testing the car ( study show the whole created by the explosion ), I told him about 6 time that there is no bump in the road we take, and 1 time after we find out on that report. again, I made appointment to Beverly Hills MB last week because the car suddenly pulled to the right lain and almost hitting the car on the right lain While when I was waiting for my appointment then this Catastrophic situation happened to me, I was exiting from [XXX] that going home, after a few minutes my car has Jolted toward the front with the strongest way and locked up the car and stopped, which is Phantom Braking Emergency break malfunction, also called Catastrophic Uncommented Deceleration. i have to mention the car has been drove for 14000 miles since 2024 duo to the dangerous matters I was 4 mints away from my grave only because of the MB dishonesty and lie. On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] PDT, a 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450+ caught fire at an intersection in Irvine, California. The vehicle was being driven normally. It was NOT charging. It was NOT in a collision. It was stopped at the intersection when the fire began. There was no warning. Four occupants were inside: the driver (age [XXX] ), two minor children (ages [XXX] and [XXX] ), and one elderly passenger (age [XXX] ). All four escaped, but narrowly — the rear child safety locks barely released in time for the children to exit. The vehicle sustained catastrophic cabin burn-through and is a total loss. Smoke and flames appeared to originate from beneath the vehicle, consistent with a thermal event in the under-floor high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack, pending expert investigation. This vehicle is within the population of NHTSA Recall 24V-372 (Mercedes-Benz battery management system software defect, 14,912 2023-2025 EQE/EQS units, including 551 units of the 2024 EQS SUV 450+). Mercedes documented in its Part 573 report that it received field reports of this defect in October 2023 and waited approximately seven months before filing the recall. Mercedes acknowledged fire risk in the EQS platform in NHTSA Recall 24V-115, stating "a risk of fire cannot be ruled out." In February 2026, Recall 26V-073 ordered full battery replacement in EQB vehicles after Mercedes admitted prior software remedies were failed remedies. On [XXX], a Mercedes EQE caught fire spontaneously in a parking garage in Incheon, South Korea while parked and not charging, damaging 140 vehicles. The fire in this vehicle occurred at zero mph with two young children and an elderly grandmother trapped behind child-locked rear doors. The fire department and police responded. The vehicle is preserved pending expert inspection. I request NHTSA ODI open a formal investigation into spontaneous battery fire risk in the Mercedes EQ platform. Trunk opening and closing without warning. First incident occurred when sunroof was open and wouldn't close. Trunk would randomly open even when the car was parked and locked. Trunk opened when car was off and parked and pinned my 5 year old son between the trunk and our garage door. Trunk closed without warning and almost decapitated my husband and son Additionally, the door handles on the exterior of the car are constantly closing on our hands, pinching fingers and hands.

The EQS450's delivery was taken from the sonic walnut creek CA dealer on [XXX], the vehicle has ACC and brake assists malfunctioning issues. Phantom braking issues. On [XXX], I was traveling on Interstate at 70-75 mph with no nearby vehicles when the car suddenly braked as if there was a pending collision. It was very scary, it was so violent I thought I had hit something in the road, but it was a clear, dry, sunny day with no road hazards, obstacles or anything else that would have caused it. My wife’s head whipped back and forth, resulting in an enduring headache for her through the rest of the evening. MB Naperville serviced vehicles twice in the past three months , updated software often and again in the next three days, we experienced a sudden and hard stop while driving around 65 mph up a hill. It was a violent and sudden jolting stop. We feel hazardous and untrustworthy to drive the EQS450. MBUSA Case #[XXX] (6/18th) ,CASE [XXX] (6/19th - Opened by Mercedes Benz Naperville IL dealer). STRUCTURE:BODY; WHEELS
Complaint Crackling and cracking noise from the outer wheel on the front axle when cornering Cause The noise is generated by a micromovement on the contact surface between the rim and the brake disk (wheel bolt group) and may be intensified by potential soiling. The more lightweight rim (AMG forged rim) transmits the noise louder; in the case of cast rims, the noise is generally not perceptible. This is not a technical defect, but rather a complaint concerning comfort. Safe operation of the vehicle is ensured at all times. Remedy Important note: The operations described below do not represent a permanent remedy in every case. The noise may reoccur again after an indefinite period of time; sanding the rims with abrasive media multiple times is not permissible. Only cleaning using the Hazet tool 4960-160 (recommendation) can be performed without any concerns each time the wheel is changed or if the complaint reoccurs. Replacing the parts (rim, wheel bolts, wheel bearings, wheel hub, brake disk) is not expedient in the event of this complaint. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clean the components of the wheel bolt connection according to the WIS instructions Sand down the rim and brake disk bowl by performing the following steps: • Manually sand rim (old design only) in area of water drain bores (Figure 1; item A), approx. 1.5 cm left and right of water drain bore (Figure 2) Note: Use abrasive paper with grit size 80. The grooving in this area should no longer be visible (sand down approx. 0.1-0.2mm) • Also sand brake disk bowl using emery cloth or abrasive paper with a grain size of 120 • For vehicles equipped with the AMG ceramic brake system (B07), abrasive paper may not be used for cleaning on the brake disk side Note: Do not use any cleaning agent when cleaning on the rim side. Cleaning using abrasive paper with a grain size of 80 will suffice. Do not apply any grease, lubricant or paste after cleaning The brake disk bowl should be "bare metal" in the area of the imprints made by the hole (Figure 3)

POWER TRAIN
Single throttle lift-off clunking noise from the side shaft when moving off (audible at the outboard end). The noise is heard once in each instance when changing direction of travel. Note: Sound file in attachment Cause If the complaint is eliminated by experimentally loosening the outboard collar nut (by 1 turn), the problem is due to cracking of the microweld between the wheel bearing inner race and the joint housing of the side shaft. Note: The collar nut must always be replaced after being loosened. See also LI33.20-P-078406 Remedy Coat contact surface of side shaft with wheel bearing with Molykote paint. To do this, proceed as follows: 1. Remove side shafts 2. Clean contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing before") before coating with Molykote, using "spirit" (free of dust and grease) 3. Coat contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing after") with Molykote and leave to dry for "one hour" in removed condition 4. Reinstall side shafts Note: Before using the antifriction coating (Molykote), stir it or shake it thoroughly for (at least 1 minute).
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Complaint Traffic sign symbol for "Traffic Sign Assist" is blinking in instrument cluster without obvious cause usually with one of the following scenarios: • Flashing without a speed limit ("- -"). • Flashing when current vehicle speed is under speed limit. • Flashing between US speed limit symbol and European speed limit symbol. NOTE: • Verify that the concern falls under one of the attachment videos. If not, then it is outside of the scope of this LI. • This also does not cover "Traffic Sign Inoperative" messages on the instrument cluster. Cause There are two identified reasons for this concern: 1. Country code information stored incorrectly at a particular geographic latitude range. 2. Incorrect reference data when the vehicle is started and a GPS signal is not immediately available. Remedy Do not replace parts. Please open a TIPS case to the Body/Chassis/Entertainment inbox but read the below carefully: • The vehicle must be exhibiting the concern as shown in the attachment videos. • The vehicle DOES NOT need to be at the dealer, nor does it need to be brought into the dealership. • If the geographic location is known, it is very important that it is provided. • Provide any pictures or videos, if available. A new software for the head unit is scheduled for tentative release in Q3 2026.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Complaint Radio station cover art does not refresh when switching stations. The UI continues to show the old station’s artwork instead of updating to the new one. Cause When a new station change request is triggered, a temporary glitch is causing the Head Unit application to fail to overwrite the previous request. This glitch is causing the cover art mismatch in the Radio application. Remedy Please do not replace any parts. The E505.9 software is released and available in XENTRY Q3 2026.
SUSPENSION
Complaint Creaking noise, in irregular sequence when driving slowly in combination with slight steering movements and/or Creaking/crackling noises from the area of the wheel bearing on the front axle when cornering/ maneuvering. Sound file attached for comparison. MUST match noise for proper diagnosis. NOTE: Steering functionality is not affected. Cause Contact area between wheel bearing and steering knuckle. See also: LI35.30-P-058566 (Throttle Lift-Off Noise - Rear) LI33.30-P-056665 (Throttle Lift-Off Noise - Front) LI40.10-P-059248 (Wheel cracking noise when cornering) Remedy 1. Perform Operation A and evaluate by testing vehicle. 2. If noise is still present after re-testing: • If 192/232 chassis, verify FIN is in the listed range below in "Operation B" and perform. • If not 192/232 chassis or vehicle is a 192/232 not in the listed FIN range, additional verifications of where the noise is coming from are needed. Use multiple channel NVH method to narrow down location. Verify the LI's listed above were completed or if there are other similar noises associated with the chassis (Example: 192/232 also has under panel noises and an associated LI). Operation A: 1. Clean contact surfaces of wheel bearing and steering knuckle with brake cleaner as seen in the attached pictures. NOTE: The front area of the wheel bearing and the seals must not come into contact with the cleaner, otherwise, the sealing rings will be damaged. 2. Clean threads of wheel bearing mounting. 3. Thinly coat contact surfaces of wheel bearing, steering knuckle, and axle mating face with Molykote (annular joint grease). See the attached steering knuckle and wheel hub pictures for reference. NOTE: Axle mating face greasing is also covered in LI35.30-P-058566 and LI33.30-P-056665. Operation B (Only applies to 192 and 232 in listed FIN range): Only affects vehicles up to FIN end number: • Model series 192: xxx xxx xx 002 876 • Model series 232: xxx xxx xx 022 312 1. Replace steering knuckle. 2. Wheel bearings do not need to be replaced.
