MITSUBISHI HAS PRODUCED 3.0 LITER V6 ENGINES FROM ABOUT 1990 THROUGH 1996 THAT EXHIBIT CHRONIC EXHASUT VALVE GUIDE FUNCTION DETERORIATION AFTER APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES. THIS RESULTS IN HEAVY OIL CONSUMPTION AND EVENTUAL ENGINE FAILURE.*AK THIS ENGINE WAS UTILIZED IN THE MITSUBISHI DIAMIANTI, 3000GT, DODGE CARAVAN, CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY, PLYMOUTH VOYAGER AMONG OTHERS.

HELLO AND THANKS FIRST OF ALL FOR YOUR TIME, UNTIL JULY 5TH OF 1999 I TRUELY ENJOYED MY CAR. I WAS DRIVING ON I57 ON JULY 5TH AT 65 MPH AND MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. I HAVING ROADSIDE SERVICE CALLED FROM MY CELL PHONE A TOW TRUCK. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED WHO WAS ALSO A REPAIR PERSON AND ALSO OWNER OF THE REPAIR SHOP. HE INFORMED ME HE WOULD TOW MY CAR TO HIS SHOP AND NOTIFY ME THE NEXT DAY OF THE REPAIRS. I BEING 1 1/2 HOURS FROM HOME HAD TO CALL A RELATIVE TO PICK ME UP. I WAS 11:30 PM I HAD NO WAY TO RENT A CAR. THE FOLLOWING MORNING MR LOY THE OWNER CALLED ME TO ADVISE ME THAT MY MOTOR HAD GONE OUT. I THE ASKED WHAT THE COST ANOTHER MOTOR WOULD BE I WAS ADVISED A USED MOTOR WOULD BE $2915. I THEN MADE ABOUT 50 CALLS TO OTHER SERVICE CENTERS TO FIND OUT THE $2900 WAS A FAIR PRICE. MY HAS ALWAYS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. I WAS OF COURSE VERY UPSET TO FIND OUT BY ABOUT 35 OF THE 50 MECHAINCS I TALKED TO ADVISED ME, I YOU LET THE DIAMONTE IDEL IT WILL BURN OIL THEN WITHOUT NOTICE YOUR ENGINE WILL BLOW. I OF COURSE STILL OWING MONEY ON MY CAR HAD IT REPAIRED. ALONG WITH A $110 TOWING BILL FROM THE INTERSTATE. THIS ACTUALLY GETTS WORSE. IN NOVEMBER OF THE SAME YEAR(1999) THIS WHOLE ISSUED REPEATED! THIS TIME I WAS ON MY LUNCH HOUR AND MY CAR LOST POWER AGAIN. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO A NEARBY IMPORTED SHOP. CERTAINLY KNOWING THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT BE A BIG REPAIR WELLLLLLLLL MY ENGINE HAD GONE OUT AGAIN!!!!!! THIS TIME LIKE THE FIRST TIME IN TEARS. THIS REPAIR FOR THE SECOND MOTOR COST MY $3200 .
