What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Isuzu FVR, 2023-2026 Chevrolet 7500XD, 2018-2026 Chevrolet 6500XD, and Isuzu FTR vehicles. The axle stabilizer bracket bolts may crack and break, allowing the bracket to detach from the vehicle.

The risk

A detached axle stabilizer bracket can create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will replace the stabilizer bar brackets, free of charge. This is a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include Class 6 vehicles (FTR, Chevy 6500XD). Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2025 to FTR and Chevrolet 6500XD owners. Phase 2 will include Class 7 vehicles (FVR, Chevy 7500XD). Owner notification letters were mailed April 24, 2026 to FVR owners. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026 to Chevrolet 7500XD owners. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2506.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
