The defect
KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Husqvarna FE 501S, Husqvarna FE 350S, 2024 GasGas ES 350, and GasGas ES 500 motorcycles. During backwards rolling, the brake caliper may crack near the primary pin casting, which may cause the caliper to break when riding.
The risk
Cracks or breaks in the rear brake caliper can reduce braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealer will replace the rear brake caliper, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 2, 2026. Owners may contact KTM and Husqvarna customer service at 1-888-985-6090. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov July 15, 2026.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
