SERVICE BRAKES
Husqvarna Mobility North America, Inc. has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists with certain 2022, 2023 and 2024 Husqvarna motorcycles equipped with BRAKTEC front brake calipers. Irregularities were found in the casting structure of one of our brake supplier's subcontractors. In the worst case, this can lead to the front brake caliper cracking in the area around the upper guide pin. See Figures 1 and 2. If the front brake caliper cracks at the upper guide pin it may reduce the braking systems effectiveness. For this reason, the manufacturer of the brake caliper casting must be checked on affected vehicles and replaced if necessary. The differentiation between the suppliers of the cast raw parts of affected vehicles can be seen directly on the brake caliper, see Figures 3 and 4.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On motorcycles with the currently installed start/stop switch (p.n.A49011074000), there may be problems with the motorcycle starting automatically. For this reason, the start/stop switch (p.n. A49011074000) installed on affected motorcycles must be replaced with a different version (p.n. A46011074000). Affected motorcycles can continue to be used, but the key must be turned off when these motorcycles are not being ridden (e.g. parking, storage, transportation, etc.).
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
