Recalls, owner-reported complaints, investigations and safety data

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
0
InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20-30MPH FOOT ON THE BREAK I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE STEERING STOPPED WORKING. CAR WAS STILL RUNNING BUT STEERING WAS DEAD NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE LIT ON THE DASH AFTER ABOUT 4 SECONDS THE STEERING CAME BACK TO NORMAL. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME. I PURCHASED THE SUBARU NEW IT HAS 7,220 MILES ON IT. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED SAME SCENARIO CAR HAD ABOUT 5K MILES ON IT. THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE DIDN'T THINK NOTHING OF IT UNTIL TODAY IT HAPPENED ON A BUSY ROAD LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE CAR UNDER CONTROL. TALKED TO DEALER THEY NEED THE ISSUE TO BE CONSTANT TO DO ANYTHING. TRIED TO DUPLICATE ISSUE AND IT WILL NOT IT HAPPENS WHEN IT WANTS TO BUT THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE.

REAR VIEW CAMERA IS MALFUNCTIONING. RANDOMLY WILL COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THIS PREVENTS YOU FROM BEING ABLE TO USE THE HANDS FREE PHONE SYSTEM. UNABLE TO MAKE IT DUPLICATE IT WHEN TAKE IT TO DEALER. HOWEVER, I DID GET IT ON VIDEO. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS AN UPDATE AND THAT THEY LOADED THE UPDATE TO THE COMPUTER. HOWEVER, IT CONTINUES TO DO IT. JUST STARTED THIS A COUPLE DAYS AGO. THE VEHICLE IS OVER ONE YEAR OLD. IT HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY AND/OR IN MOTION.
