The defect: Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Zephyr, Wayfarer, Phaeton, Open Trail, GT1, Allegro Red, Allegro Open Road, Allegro Bus, Allegro Bay, 2026 Midas, Byway, and Allegro Breeze recreational vehicles, equipped with certain MaxxAir N-Series Maxxfan rooftop ventilation fans. The printed circuit board may fail during certain operations and overheat.
The risk: An overheated printed circuit board increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the circuit board, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2026. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is TIF-149. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning August 28, 2026.

Dear NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline, I am reporting possible safety defects involving my 2026 Tiffin Allegro Bay 38AB motorhome. We purchased it new from Blue Compass RV in [XXX], on XXX I have observed the following issues: 1. On the drive home immediately after delivery, hydraulic fluid leaked from somewhere near the front driver’s side and spread over the driver’s side of the RV. The source of the leak has not been confirmed. 2. The motorhome has an alignment problem that needs assessment. 3. The passenger-side slide does not retract properly. The slide seals on both sides are ripping and do not extend properly. 4. The driver-side slide cover is loose. 5. Drawers open while the motorhome is being driven, including when we are not turning. Bedroom drawers also come off their slides. 6. The bedroom TV bracket broke off, leaving sharp magnetic hardware exposed. I am concerned about the safety of driving and occupying the motorhome with these conditions. Please record the issues that fall within NHTSA’s vehicle safety complaint process and let me know if you need separate reports for any of them. I can provide photographs, communications, and repair records if requested. Please confirm receipt and provide a complaint reference number. STEERING

Daimler contacted Tiffin stating that the tie rod on the front axle may not have been installed properly, which can result in tie rod separation without warning and a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
