The driver's seat has an issue with the backrest where something inside the seat feels loose. The driver notices this during acceleration, braking, traversing rough roads, and turning. The dealership agreed that there is a problem and stated that the Tundra has a TSB for this type of issue, but there is nothing for the Camry.
Driver’s seat lumbar component pops when accelerating, breaking and sometimes randomly. It’s surprising and distracting causing a safety issue.
The driver's seat has been clicking, and something is loose or broken inside the seat—possibly the lumbar support mechanism. Seat is popping throughout the entire drive, whether accelerating or braking, etc.
I am reporting an issue with the driver seat in my 2025 Toyota Camry. The seat exhibits abnormal movement, shifting, instability, and popping sensations in the seatback area during normal driving conditions. The issue feels like looseness or movement of internal seat components and creates a distraction and potential safety concern while operating the vehicle. I brought the vehicle to a Toyota dealership for inspection. The dealership acknowledged the issue and opened a TAS (Technical Assistance System) case with Toyota Motor Corporation. An attempted repair and inspection were performed; however, the issue still persists. After researching online owner forums and discussions, I found multiple reports from other Toyota Camry owners describing similar driver seat problems, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. The ongoing seat movement negatively affects driver confidence and comfort and may create a safety risk by distracting the driver or altering seating position while driving.
The driver seat pops and shifts around unexpectedly when driving. It feels like I am going to loose control of the vehicle as I have to adjust my seating position while the car is in motion. And this movement is very distracting. Visited dealership twice already and dealer says this is common issue with new 2025/2026 Camry.
The driver’s seat backrest (lumbar support area) constantly pops and shifts (makes physical movement) while accelerating, braking, going over bumps, and when making body adjustments. I have already visited the Toyota dealership five times for this defect, but Toyota has been unable to fix the issue. The Toyota dealer first replaced the lumbar support, and subsequent attempts involved temporary measures such as installing foam and felt tape, but the defect still persists. A Toyota dealer technician mentioned that the “seat lumbar is shifting around on the metal support rail.” The popping and shifting sensation has gotten worse since last year. This is very distracting and has nearly caused an accident when felt during braking. As seen on many online forums, a lot of 2025 Camry owners (the first redesign year) are experiencing this issue, but Toyota is trying to sweep it under the rug by claiming this is a normal vehicle characteristic instead of releasing an updated or redesigned lumbar support. A driver’s seat that physically shifts and pops while driving is a safety issue.
On [XXX], I turned on the driver's seat heater. It started on the high setting. In a very short time the heat became extremely uncomfortable and I shut it off. However, the seat continued to release high amounts of heat which resulted in a burn after a few minutes before I could stop and exit the car. The backs of my thighs, my buttocks, my pereneum and part of my scrotum were burned. I saw my primary care doctor the next day and she confirmed it was a first degree burn. She prescribed supplements to help the skin to heal. Last week I saw a dermatologist to see if the skin was healing properly. He said it was but will take more time. It is today April 13, and I still have some discomfort while sitting. It has taken a long time for the inner layers of skin that were damaged to repair itself. I am [XXX] but not diabetic. Defective driver seat. The lumbar support on the drivers seat is loose and pushed forward when driving, it presses against the lower back when you brake while driving. This issue is very prominent when driving for over 20 mins and makes it uncomfortable to use the car. Toyota has replicated the issue but have failed to over a repair
The driver and passenger seats has popping on the back side near the lumbar support. This happens during braking and acceleration. Its a safety concern because it distracts when driving and gives an uncomfortable feeling. Brought to dealership twice and no help into fixing the problem.
B-Pillar that houses drivers side seatbelt has a persistent rattling noise. I am afraid that something is loose inside and seatbelt will fail. A bolt, screw or washer sounds loose inside. It has been repaired 2 times. Taken back to dealership 3 times since first 2 repairs but Toyota claims unable to replicate. The seatbelt does not tight across my torso when I brake. Videos of defect have been provided. Active repair case with Gulf States Toyota. Claims manager Andre has called Northshore Toyota to attempt assist with repair. Headliner or glass panoramic sunroof is loose and rattling. It has been repaired 2 times. Taken back to dealership 3 times since first 2 repairs but Toyota claims unable to replicate. The box that houses lighting buttons above back seat and one speaker above driver's head is rattling and loose. I do not know if it is the glass above headliner causing the rattling. Glass may break while driving over bumps if it is not properly secured or air sealed. Passenger and driver's seat have defective lumbar components inside. Causes a safety distraction to driver. When vehicle stops or starts it hits or bumps driver or passenger. This is a documented defect of 2025 Camrys.

The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while exiting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the front driver’s seat backrest had no cushion. The contact had pain in the ribs while driving at various speeds. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the seat needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that several models of the Toyota Camry had the same issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
I purchased this vehicles in May and after 3 weeks I begin to have terrible neck pain. I’m now in physical therapy and have difficulty sitting in the vehicle for long periods. The design of the front seats are terrible. It pushes your head forward and the upper shoulder design compensates poorly. It is not ergonomically correct. I’ve reported this to Toyota to ask for assistance and they provided none. They told me I should bring it to the dealer, but that doesn’t change their poor design. This is a very real problem that is causing significant pain and damage, which Toyota will not acknowledge or fix.

If in a forceful accident, I am worried that the movement in the seat could cause potential harm if a part is loose enough to move with gentle braking/acceleration. This issue appears to be common in 2025 Camrys as there are many complaints on internet forums and on the nhtsa complaint site.
I am not sure if this qualifies as a safety issue, but the head rest on Camry is terrible. They are heavily tilted forward and non-adjustable (cannot tilt them back). When seated and trying to maintain a neutral posture - it is not possible, one has to keep their head tilted forward which becomes painful after a while.

Bought 2025 Toyota Camry LE on 2025 January. Started noticing some movement on driver seat backrest just after few days of owning it. It makes big crunchy/creaking sound when I lean into the seat back and then lean forward again. Because of this, it doesn't provide stable driver position when turning the vehicle, accelerating from a stop and when sudden braking. it feels like it is not going to provide enough support in an unfortunate event of an accident. Took the car to the dealership when it had about 1500 miles on it. Dealership said , a technical took a look into and didn't find anything wrong with it and will have to live with it. I am already regretting purchasing a Camry. It appears that the driver seat and I suspect the passenger seat has some sort of internal issue or defect. Every time I accelerate, brake, or go up and down on the road, there is a crunching or punching feeling in the seat right around the middle back area. Not sure if something is loose or broken but whatever it is, it is not a normal feeling and aside from being extremely annoying, it could be dangerous. If there are loose parts from the seat's structure and if someone is driving quickly and brakes, it could shift and impale the driver and/or the passenger. Or if the seat's internal structure has an issue, it could impact the functionality of the seat beat or the seat itself during a collision. This issue for sure has nothing to do with the fabric/stitching; something internal is the problem. Additionally, per my investigation online, other customers who purchased from all trims of the 2025 Toyota Camry are dealing with this defect. I believe that Toyota needs to take it seriously and address the issue/repair immediately before the issue gets bigger than it needs to be. In regards to the questions above, the seat is available for inspection. The safety risk is described above. The vehicle was taken to the dealership today and their diagnosis has not been reported back to me. Component has not been inspected by the manufacturer; I reached out to Toyota about the issue and they assumed I was just submitting my general opinion; I don't see or feel any sense of urgency from Toyota to investigate and make a repair. The car functions normally aside from the issue above.
