There was a recall for the paint on this vehicle and over the past 4 years the paint has peeled off exposing under the clear coat putting the body of the vehicle at risk for futher rust and damage. When contacting the manufacturer they agreed that the paint was recalled and they were fixing vehicles but I missed the deadline.
I own a 2015 Toyota Corolla with Super White paint. The vehicle has experienced widespread paint peeling and delamination consistent with Toyota's known Super White paint defect. The paint is peeling in multiple locations across the vehicle, including along numerous body panel edges and on the exterior surface of the trunk. The condition has continued to worsen and now affects a substantial portion of the vehicle. In affected areas, the white paint has separated from the vehicle and exposed the underlying gray primer. The paint failure is not the result of an accident, collision, or improper maintenance. A professional body shop inspected the vehicle and advised that the paint failure is consistent with Toyota's known Super White paint defect. After learning today that Toyota had previously established a Customer Support Program for vehicles affected by this defect, I contacted Toyota and requested assistance. Toyota declined coverage because the program had expired. I never received notice of the program while it was active and therefore had no opportunity to have the vehicle inspected or repaired under the program. I am filing this complaint because Toyota previously acknowledged this paint defect through its Customer Support Program, yet owners who did not receive notice of the program may be left responsible for significant repair costs caused by what appears to be a known manufacturing defect.
Blizzard pearl paint is peeling all over the vehicle. Large chips of paint are coming off. I took it to the dealer and called the Toyota corporate office and was told that the recall had expired and I would have to pay out of pocket. The exposed metal is now starting to show signs of rusting that will impact the structural integrity and safety of the vehicle.
Factory paint on my 2015 Toyota Corolla is delaminating and peeling in sheets down to primer on multiple body panels (hood, fender, and door area). There is no impact damage, scratches, or external cause. This appears to be a factory paint adhesion failure. Exposed metal creates corrosion risk and loss of vehicle value. The condition has been confirmed visually by a Toyota dealership, but Toyota corporate denied assistance stating the extended paint program expired. I was never notified of any paint defect program. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
Approximately 2022 the driver, front side panel paint began to bubble and come off. I noticed the back hood started doing the same a few months later. By 2023, the roof was doing the same thing. I took it into Young Toyota in Logan, Utah that year and spoke with the service Manager, Russ Otley. He looked at the paint and took some pictures on this cell phone and told me he would call Toyota Customer Care. I don't he ever did because I did not hear back from him. Now it is 2026 and I have send several complaints into both this website and through the dealership manager Russ Otley. The pain is much worse now. Knowing that Toyota has had paint recalls on this issue before, I think Toyota company should get this fixed asap.
Paint peeling keeps happening after Toyota's customer support program expired
The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while stopped in traffic, white paint chips were floating in the air. The white paint peeled off the trunk lid. Upon further investigation, the prime color had peeled off, and the contact could see the metal part of the trunk lid. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that the warranty on the vehicle had expired, and there was no assistance to be offered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
THIS IS A STRUCTURE COMPLAINT. Paint is peeling off of my 2015Toyota Corolla. see attached pictures. Per the Toyota Dealer in Logan Utah, they referred me to you on this issue. I was not made aware of the paint recall that ended in January 2025. I hope this complaint will reopen another recall.
My car paint had a recall. It was denied.
I had a recall on my paint. I took it to the dealership where they denied approval.
My daughter was driving my car on the interstate the airbags deployed and hit her in the face, filled the car up with smoke, she couldn’t see anything she hit the iron poles that are together by cables. My car is totaled. My back tire broke completely off of the car. These cars aren’t built safe. I owned my car and now I’m without a car. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Air bags deploying for no reason?
I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED BY A DRIVER GOING APPROXIMATELY 40MPH. THE IMPACT SHOVED ME INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AS WELL. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND THE INSURANCE ADJUSTERS BELIEVE THE CAR IS TOTALED. I HAD A PREVIOUS ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS T-BONED IN DRIVERS SIDE AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF AT THAT TIME EITHER
THE INTERIOR HAS A SILVER DECORATIVE ACCESSORIES NEAR THE DASH THAT REFLECT THE SUNLIGHT. THE REFLECTION CAN PRODUCE PROBLEMS IN THE VISION ABILITIES, PROVOKING YOU NEED CLOSE YOUR EYES AND KEEP OUT THE LOOK IN THE ROAD.
MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE DEALERSHIP OVER A TIMEFRAME OF A FEW YEARS THAT CONTINUES TO DETERIORATE. MOST RECENTLY, LACK OF DEALERSHIP NOTIFICATION OF SAFETY RECALL, DEALERSHIP INABILITY TO RESPOND TO SAFETY RECALL WHEN NOTIFIED FROM A 3RD PARTY SITE, DEALERSHIP VEHICULAR INSPECTION INCOMPLETE AND/OR INDICATIONS OF UNRESOLVED ISSUES, VIOLATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY BUT DEALERSHIP EMPTYING CENTER CONSOLE CONTENTS INTO PASSENGER SEAT UNNECESSARILY (NO BUSINESS REASON TO DO SO), INSPECTION RESULTS OF MOST RECENT VISIT ENTAILED VIDEO INSPECTION OF RUST ACCUMULATION NEAR NOTATED BRAKE AREA WITH NO DIRECTION OR INSTRUCTION - BEYOND THE DRIVER NOTICING A DRIVING PROBLEM OF VIBRATION - TO WHICH THE INSTRUCTION WAS A DEALERSHIP PROCESS OF RUST BUILD UP REMOVAL BY A MACHINE (NO INTERNAL COMMUNICATION WITHIN DEALERSHIP OF ISSUE, NOTIFICATION TO DRIVER OR THOSE SERVING THE DRIVER TO SHARE ISSUE AND RECOMMENDATIONS, PROMPTING WAS THE RESULT OF DRIVER REQUESTING CLARIFICATION AT DEALERSHIP). THE SAFETY RECALL INVOLVED AN ISSUE WITH THE SEAT BELT & AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, AND WHEN DRIVER CONTACTED LOCAL DEALERSHIP MONTHS AGO- DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY, AND WAS NOT NOTIFIED WHEN ONE BECAME AVAILABLE. THE MOST RECENT OIL CHANGE VISIT "CLAIMS" TO HAVE ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM, AT THE REQUEST OF DRIVER. CAR STARTED HAVING PAINT PROBLEMS AT 3 YEARS OLD. PAINT MISSING ON CERTAIN PROTECTED AREAS OF CAR, WITH PRIMER ONLY (TRUNK AND HOOD AREA.) PAINT ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FORMED BUBBLES ON THE EDGE. PAINT SCRATCHING EASILY ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR. FIRST CAR I HAVE OWNED THAT WAS HAVING PAINT ISSUES AFTER ONLY 3 YEARS. NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS NO DIFFERENT THAN OTHER CARS I'VE OWNED. ALWAYS WELL MAINTAINED AND REGULARLY WASHED.
WAS IN A ROLL-OVER ACCIDENT. A DEER JUMPED OUT IN FRONT OF ME SO I LOCKED UP THE BREAKS AND THE REAR END OF THE CAR CAME OUT FROM BEHIND ME AND I WENT INTO A DITCH AND ROLLED 3 TIMES.
WAS IN A ROLL-OVER CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. NONE OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS WENT OFF ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CAR AND THE CAR ROLLED THREE TIMES DURING THE ACCIDENT.
LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURE. THE ELMOR TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN HUNTINGTON BEACH CALIFORNIA TOLD ME WITH OUT PERFORMING ANY DIAGNOSTIC THAT MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER LOCK ACTUATOR IS FAILING AND DUE TO THE USE OF GEL AIR FRESHENERS.. WHICH I DO NOT USE.. BOTH FROM DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS DO NOT LOCK AND UNLOCK WITH KEY FOB OR PANEL INSIDE THE CAR DOOR. THEY DO NOT LOCK EITHER WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THEY ONLY UNLOCK WITH MY MECHANICALLY USE THE KEY FROM THE FOB OR I HAVE TO FLIP THE DOOR OPEN FROM INSIDE THE CAR.
TRUNK FIRE UNKNOWN CAUSE, CAR WAS PARKED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE'S RPMS MALFUNCTIONED. AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED RAPIDLY ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. BIG ISLAND TOYOTA (811 KANOELEHUA AVE, HILO, HAWAII 96720, (808) 935-2920) WAS NOTIFIED, BUT COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A RATTLING NOISE WAS HEARD ALL AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JAY WOLFE TOYOTA OF WEST COUNTY (14700 MANCHESTER RD, BALLWIN, MO 63011, (844) 334-0213) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE FRAME, DOOR, AND DASHBOARD THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE SPECIFICS OF THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,700.

I WANT TO REPORT THAT I FOUND A LOOSE BOLT POKING OUT OF THE DRAIN HOLE ON THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OF OUR 2015 TOYTOTA COROLLA. IT WAS ORIENTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT ONLY THE THREADED END WAS POKING OUT THE HOLE AND HELD INSIDE THE DOOR BY THE BOLT HEAD. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND AS A COURTESY THEY REMOVED THE DOOR PANEL AND DETERMINED IT HAD COME FROM ONE OF THE WINDOW PARTS (REGULATOR OR MOTOR). THEY REINSTALLED AND TIGHTENED THE BOLT. I READ ON THE INTERNET THIS WAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH PREVIOUS TOYOTAS AND CREATED SAFETY CONCERNS. THIS MAY BE A CONTINUED PROBLEM WITH TOYOTAS. IT WAS OBVIOUSLY A VERY SMALL CHANCE THAT THE BOLT ACTUALLY LANDED IN A FASHION TO PARTIALLY STICK OUT OF THE DRAIN HOLE SO I WAS ABLE TO SPOT THIS, SO I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF OTHER WINDOW BOLTS IN THE CAR HAVE, OR WILL, COME LOOSE AND FALL INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE DOORS WITHOUT DETECTION. THIS MAY ALSO BE THE CASE WITH MANY OTHER COROLLAS SOLD. BOLTS THAT BECOME LOOSE AND FALL OFF OF WINDOW PARTS COULD LEAD TO INADVERTENT AND DANGEROUS FAILURE OF WINDOWS ON THE ROAD. I SUGGEST YOU INVESTIGATE THIS POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE.
THIS CAR WAS REAR ENDED 17 MONTHS AGO AND NONE OF THE 8 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I GOT A HERNIATED DISC AND A BROKEN RIB. THE OTHER DRIVER INSURANCE PAID FOR THE $12,000 REPAIRS ON MY CAR AND SOME OF MY MEDICAL EXPENSES BUT NOW HERE I AM WITH AN INJURY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. THIS CAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE AIRBAG LAWSUIT AND I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR MY INJURIES.
MY DAUGHTER WAS ON A 2 LANE STRETCH OF I-15 HIGHWAY SOUTHBOUND, APPROX 7 MILES NORTH OF LASVEGAS NV. SHE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE SLOWLY CREEPING BY A 18 WHEEL RIG W/TRAILER. SHE WAS DOING 74 WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND WITNESSES SAY THE RIG MUST HAVE BEEN DOING 73MPH. HE VIOLENTLY TURNED INTO HER LANE CAUSING HER TO DO EVASIVE MANEUVER LEFT AND BRAKE HARD SKIDDING INTO THE SOFT SHOULDER THEN SPINNING CLOCKWISE CROSSING TO THE RIGHT SIDE HITTING A SMALL SHOULDER ELEVATION CHANGE WITH BOTH DRIVERS SIDE WHEELS, CAUSING A DOUBLE ROLL OVER AND A CARTWHEEL LANDING ON THE TRUNK, THEN COMING TO A REST ON THE ROOF. NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED! SHE SUFFERED MULTIPLE BLUNT HITS TO THE HEAD FROM HITTING AGAINST THE DOOR, SHE HAS A CONCUSSION WITH SPRAINED SHOULDER AND ANKLES. GRANTED SHE SHOULD BE IN MUCH WORSE CONDITION BUT WE ARE GRATEFUL SHE HAD HER BLANKETS AND HER DOGS BEDS THAT FLEW FROM THE BACK SEAT TO THE FRONT HELPING TO KEEP HER PADDED FROM EVEN MORE TRAUMA. I FEEL THAT A SIDE CURTAIN AND STEERING BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. IS THIS A FLUKE THAT TOYOTA ENGINEERS MISSED? BECAUSE NO PARTICULAR CORNER WAS IMPACTED? THE ROLLOVER IMPACTS WERE AT THE WHEELS, JUST ABOVE BOTH BUMPERS AND THE ENTIRE ROOF AREA.
