I had been driving for over an hour and heard a sudden explosion that made me think there was a gunshot and heard glass shattering but couldn't see anything. I was fearful so I drove further down to the fire dept to assess to the damage and ensure no one was following me. Called 911 for help because I was so shaken. Discovered the back portion of my panoramic sunroof had exploded.

The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, another vehicle driving at an unknown speed crashed into the rear passenger's side of the vehicle, causing the front driver's side of the vehicle to hit a wooden post, and the vehicle came to a stop. The wooden post was bent. The air bags failed to deploy. There was no warning light illuminated after the crash. The contact was shaking and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. The contact underwent a CT scan and X-rays, but no issues were found. The contact sustained pain in the left leg. The contact was provided with injections and a neck brace. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The vehicle had not yet been evaluated by the insurance company. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

The driver pulled over and noticed that the sunroof glass had exploded. The driver noticed that the explosion of the glass had started inward and went outwards. There were no reported injuries. Additionally, the passenger’s side front seat was occupied by the [XXX] son. There was glass falling into the vehicle. The owner taped the sunroof glass. An unknown local dealer was contacted, who stated that an unknown object had struck the sunroof, causing the sunroof glass to shatter. The vehicle was not repaired.
