Owner-reported complaints naming the body or structure system, filed with NHTSA
Data refreshed
Body & structure reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THE HEADLINER STARTED TO COME UNDONE ON THE ROOF OF THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS BLOCKS THE CONTACT'S VIEW FROM BEING ABLE TO SEE THROUGH HER REAR VIEW MIRROR AND REAR WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED AT THE DEALER YOUNG VOLKSWAGEN (191 COMMERCE PARK DR, EASTON, PA 18045, (610) 991-9100). THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS BUT GAVE THE CONTACT A CASE NUMBER AND STATED THAT IF THE FAILURE BECOMES A RECALL, SHE WAS ABLE TO SEEK REIMBURSEMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON A FREEWAY WHEN LARGE PIECES OF TIRE STARTING FLYING IN THE ROAD FROM A SEMI-TRUCK. SEVERAL VEHICLES WERE ATTEMPTING TO AVOID BEING STRUCK, WHEN A LARGE PIECE FLEW UP AND HIT UNDER MY CAR. THE OUTCOME WAS A HOLE IN MY GAS TANK WHICH THEN PROCEEDED TO LEAK FUEL ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO PULL OVER DUE TO THE DAMAGE. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS CONSIDERED "ACTIVE DAMAGE" AND SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO SAFETY STANDARDS THAT SHOULD BE IN PLACE. I WAS THANKFUL THERE WERE NO SPARKS IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OR I WOULD NOT BE HERE NOW. *TR
