The vehicle has experienced intermittent loss of power while driving at highway speeds on multiple occasions. The issue occurred twice on Monday and multiple times again on Tuesday. During these events, the vehicle felt as though it may stall or lose propulsion while traveling in traffic. The vehicle has also intermittently exhibited engine rattling and drivability concerns. In addition, the center display screen has blacked out intermittently, and the audio system has periodically failed to function. Because the loss-of-power issue is intermittent and occurs at highway speeds, I no longer consider the vehicle safe or reliable to operate. Family members won't drive or ride in the vehicle. The vehicle is being reported to Volvo and the dealership as a formal safety concern.

The 2026 Volvo XC60 Ultra comes with hazy rear passenger windows, worse in full sun. These windows are laminated and tinted and are manufactured by Saint-Gobain Sekurit. The hazy rear passenger windows, especially the right one, decrease the driver's visibility and safety when checking the blind spots in traffic. Volvo should issue a recall of these defective windows and provide replacement transparent laminated glass for the rear passenger windows, allowing an unobstructed view for the driver. After contacting Volvo, they offered to replace these windows with tinted tempered glass, which is a downgrade from the laminated windows with noise dampening feature. Volvo is aware of this widespread quality issue and safety concern and chooses not to address it properly for its customers. Please investigate this safety concern and issue a recall for the hazy rear passenger windows in the higher trim Volvo models. Dear NHTSA, I would like to submit a safety complaint regarding my 2026 Volvo XC60 Ultra, purchased new and currently with approximately 5,939 miles. I am submitting this complaint because I have experienced repeated vehicle behaviors that I believe may have safety implications and have significantly affected my confidence in the vehicle. The concerns include: Brake behavior concern I have experienced inconsistent brake behavior during vehicle operation At times the brakes feel unusually sensitive At other times the vehicle feels less responsive than expected during braking The vehicle behavior has felt inconsistent and unpredictable Vehicle movement concern I have repeatedly noticed unexpected vehicle movement after stopping and placing the vehicle in Park Depending on road conditions, I have experienced both a brief lurch sensation and slight continued movement This behavior has raised safety concerns Winter driving concern During winter driving conditions, I experienced situations where the vehicle felt significantly difficult to control I had previously discussed winter driving concerns with the dealership and was informed that the vehicle should operate appropriately after snow accumulation concerns were addressed During one winter driving event, I experienced a loss of control significant enough that the vehicle contacted a curb and a wheel was damaged Following this experience, I no longer feel comfortable driving the vehicle during snow conditions Collision event The vehicle was involved in a recent mild collision event Based on repeated experiences with inconsistent vehicle behavior, I am concerned that inconsistent vehicle performance have contributed to this event

The car had no warning signs showing. We were on the highway and this was the longest trip we’ve taken in this car. We were at about 100 miles into the trip, we were at mile 115 on I-95 in [XXX] coming from [XXX] . Suddenly the rubber around the tire ripped off completely, the car started to slow in the middle of the highway. We pulled over to the right side of the road and found the tire completely blown out. The vehicle is currently being inspected by Volvo. The Volvo dealership is currently replacing the tire and we are paying full price out of pocket. We will be in touch with continental as soon as their office opens back up on Monday. Tire size 255/45 R 20 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Brand new 2026 Volvo XC60 Plus with factory tinting of rear passenger, side & hatch windows. Vehicle purchased from Serra Volvo in Traverse City Michigan. I discovered an issue with the rear passenger windows. Unlike the smaller rear side & hatch windows, rear passenger windows are cloudy even after a thorough cleaning.

I have requested an appointment with my local Volvo dealership to investigate this problem with delamination of the windshield and All side/rear windows. The glass has developed a pervasive milky, cloudy, and fractured appearance. When driving in the direct sunlight or at night with oncoming headlights, the vision for the driver is distorted and causes a significant safety hazard. The vehicle is currently in pristine condition with fewer than 2000 miles when the problem was first identified. I have reported the problem to my local dealership along with Photos illustrating the problem and believe the windshield should be replaced since the vehicle is still under a full factory warranty. I have not yet received confirmation from the dealership that they recognize the severity of the problem, but I am concerned that others should be aware of this issue prior to purchasing similar vehicles from Volvo.

I purchased a new Volvo XC60 Ultra on 4/17/2026. During the drive home from the dealership, I noticed the right rear passenger window haziness impairing my visibility when checking for blind spots. Initially, I thought the window needs to be cleaned, however all cleaning attempts did not improve the glass transparency; the haziness persisted. I notified the Volvo dealership the next day and I was asked to bring the car back for detailing. When I arrived, the sales manager brought 2 similar cars for comparison and concluded that this is how all the cars look like and it's just my problem, as he never had another customer complaining about it. He recommended that I take this brand new car to a non-Volvo glass tinting shop to remove the tint and "retint it the way I like it". This is unacceptable for a brand new car. My subsequent research revealed that the hazy rear passenger windows are a widespread issue with some Volvo models since at least 2023, related to what Volvo claims to be "normal" appearance of the tinted laminated sound proof glass. The dealerships and Volvo claim that this is a normal feature of the laminated glass, however the hazy glass is very bothersome while driving the car (when checking for blind spots), decreases the visibility through the rear side windows and it is a safety hazard. The owners usually notice this issue after the car is purchased, and this issue is not being disclosed to potential buyers during the sales process. Despite multiple claims by car owners, Volvo refuses to issue a recall and to fix this ongoing safety issue. I do not believe that driving around with hazy car windows meets the safety or industry standards. Please investigate this laminated glass defect in the rear passenger windows of many Volvo cars since 2023 (higher trims, like Plus and Ultra trims in XC60 and XC90 SUVs) and persuade Volvo to fix the issue and recall the defective glass! This is not a cosmetic issue, it is a visibility problem and a safety hazard!

The contact owns a 2026 Volvo XC60MHEV. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions under different driving conditions, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. Additionally, while driving in a narrow driveway near a brick wall on an incline, the screen became inoperable. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that a software reboot was needed. The owner declined the repair. The contact was provided a loaner; however, the dealer requested that the vehicle be returned. The contact had a physician's note stating that she needed a safe vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted to request a buyback. The failure mileage was approximately 5,917.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
