Interstate driving when I was required to brake quickly. Truck aggressively pulled to the right nearly colliding with another vehicle. There was a recall out for the very same thing on later model Z71 Chevy trucks. It seems I bought one that has quirks from earlier and later model vehicles. Owner manuals are not much help in these areas. Perhaps you can shed some light on this problem.
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to stop immediately. The contact used added force to depress the brake pedal to slow and stop the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or a dealer. The contact associated the failure with Special Coverage Adjustment: N182202780 (Brake Assist Decreased Due to Vacuum Loss). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
There is an open recall but my truck is not listed. I was driving around today and my front brakes are not fully releasing. Brakes are hot and do not feel comfortable driving with this issue.Call my local dealership and GM customer service and both say I am out of luck. The recall is a faulty vacuum pump and or an update of the electronic brake control module software. This also happened a few weeks ago in occasion but today was all day. Thanks.
I have had shifting issues with the transmission since 2 months into having this vehicle I have been reporting it to the dealership who has told me consistently that jerking grinding and loud noises are totally normal then the recall came out for these specific issues in the 2017 Silverados though my VIN is not listed but I still haven't always have had the very same problems stated in the recall

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ball joint on the front upper control arm had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was repaired three times. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the brake pedal was depressed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the brakes. The contact believed that the sound was coming from the brake pump having too much air. The contact was informed that the brake oil reservoir was empty. There was no oil stains never found on the ground. The brake pads were replaced. Most recently, the message "Service Air Bag" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic after the most recent failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that in the past the temperature sensor, the thermostat, the radiator, and the water pump were replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The brakes stop functioning at slow speeds such as parking and backing , this has been an ongoing issue for many years, mostly once in a while, but lately almost every single time I drive it , I believe it’s an ECBM Issue

Trailer brake warning
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 30-35 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but was firm. The contact shifted into neutral. The brakes became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The mechanic determined that the failure was related to the vacuum pump. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 91,995.
Low speed loss of brakes
Upon reversing the vehicle and apply the brake, as if in a parking lot or driveway, if pushing the brake pedal more than twice the pedal becomes hard and the vehicle becomes hard to stop without and excessive amount of force being applied to the brake pedal. If depressing the brake pedal more than 3 times, it is almost impossible to stop the vehicle with it coasting several feet. Checked for a recall, there is no recall, but there is a service bulletin that pertains to this issue concerning the brake assist vacuum pump booster, N182202780-01 and N192268490, for the 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado. An update to the electronic brake control module was completed on 2019-09-23, but such calibration seems to not be enough to resolve the issue.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Service Power Steering" was displayed, and the steering wheel was difficult to turn in either direction. Additionally, the ABS and Stabili-trac warning lights remained illuminated. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. Electronic brakes lock up during driving. No power going to rear wheels.
I experienced issues with braking including shuddering brakes. I took the vehicle to a repair shop who looked into any active recalls and there were none, I had the electronic brake control module recall completed in 2019. The shop replaced the front brakes and resurfaced the back which did not fix the issue. They then replaced the vacuum pump which did fix the issue I was responsible for all costs. I recently noticed my vehicle is covered under special coverage N182202780 through 2027 which covers the cost of the vacuum pump replacement. Chevy is refusing to reimburse for the costs because the work was not done at their dealership despite not having a recall that States that. I would like the issue addressed theough a formal recall and reimbursement of repair costs as Chevy is obviously aware there is a safety issue related to braking due to failing components.
I have lost my brakes when reversing, however I have good brakes when driving forward. The transmission is also slipping and the torque converter in the transmission is becoming very worn ALREADY. I do not tow anything with this vehicle, and I only have 73,411 miles on this truck.
High pressure fuel pump going bad and causes loss of power which is making my brake booster not getting enough vacuum causing me to loose braking. Common issue in these trucks and gm knows it
Brakes went out driving. Replaced master cylinder, brake booster, and vacuum11 at 61696 miles.
Brake assist light comes on and then I have no brakes
When stopping truck jerks, downshifts and lurches forward. While driving over 45mph truck does not seem to shift properly and jerks intermitantly and sounds different than before. 2017 silverado with 47,000 miles on it, bought brand new!
Service brake assist light comes on and brakes a very hard to push. Brakes also make a weird sound when pushed down. I have to push really hard to hold the vehicle from moving
Transmission Went out at 45100 miles Breaks don’t work pedal gets stiff and will not engage breaks truck rolls can not drive due to breaks still doing this. Service Break system light will flash. Truck only has 55000 miles as of now Dealer replaced transmission with receipt to prove paid out of pocket. Breaks still not in working order do to dealer not being able to figure out the problem. Truck is not drivable Safety hazard Breaks not working and transmission slipping almost caused an accident while traveling at 55 mph truck loses speed tractor trailer almost slammed into my truck lucky tractor trailer was able to swerve over to other lane avoiding an accident Truck only has 55000 miles

The contact stated that the TPMS warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that smoke was coming from the passenger’s side front wheel. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the brake caliper had seized, and the brake line had collapsed. The contact was informed that the caliper and three sensors on the wheels needed to be replaced. Additionally, there was also a leak in the oil line. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
On many occasions, at low speeds approx 5 mph. The brake booster fails and braking is hard and ABS kicks in.
