MY THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT AS WELL AS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN MY CAR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND IT WAS DUE TO COLD WEATHER. THEY MADE AN APPT. FOR ME TO COME IN A WEEK LATER. A FEW DAYS AFTER I CALLED THEM ABOUT THE LIGHTS BEING ON IN MY CAR I WAS PULLING OUT OF A CONVENIENT STORE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR ON A BUSY ROAD, I WAS GOING TO TURN RIGHT WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AS WELL AS THE BREAKS AND CARS WERE COMING AT US AT 40MPH. MY CAR KEPT ROLLING INTO THE OTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC. I HAD TO PULL THE E-BREAK TO TRY TO STOP ROLLING. I BLOCKED TRAFFIC AND COULD NOT MOVE MY CAR. WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND DRIVE NOTHING HAPPENED. THE POLICE HAD TO BE CALLED BECAUSE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I HAD MY CAR TOWED AND I WAS TOLD MY BATTERY CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THE LIGHTS ARE NOW OFF ON THE DASH BUT MY BRAKES SEEM TO BE PUSHING UP WHEN I PRESS DOWN. NOT SURE WHAT THIS MEANS BUT I DON'T FEEL THE BATTERY WAS THE PROBLEM. *TR

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
