Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
0
InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

No recalls in our database for this model year

That does not guarantee a specific vehicle is unaffected — recalls are issued against VINs, and new campaigns are announced regularly. Check a VIN on NHTSA.gov.

THE SUBJECT TRAILER WAS PURCHASED NEW MARCH OF 2014 AND HAS A BUILD DATE OF 2/2014. THE SUBJECT TRAILER IS A TWO AXLE 7X12 V-NOSE CARGO TRAILER WITH A GVWR OF 7000 LBS. MY AXLE WEIGHT LOADED HAS NEVER EXCEEDED 4,500 LBS. DURING A TRIP INSPECTION WHILE TRAVELING TWO WEEKS AGO I DISCOVERED THE RIGHT REAR SPRING SHACKLE WAS RIPPING OUT OF THE FRAME. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURE ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE REPAIRED THE SAME DEFECT ON SEVERAL OF THESE TRAILERS AND THE MANUFACTURE'S SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD TO INCREASE THE WALL THICKNESS OF THE FRAME TUBES ON THIS MODEL TRAILER TO CORRECT THE DEFECT STARTING IN MAY OF 2014 . I HAD THE FAILING FRAME TEMPORARILY REPAIRED AT A FAB SHOP THAT WAS NEAR WHERE THE FAILING SUSPENSION/FRAME WAS DISCOVERED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURE HAVE REFUSED TO PROPOSE A LONG TERM SOLUTION TO THE DEFECT. *TR

AFTER 2000 MILES ON MY NEW PURCHASED 2014 COVERED WAGON TRAILER, I WAS APPROACHED BY A TECH AT A GAS STATION. SAW THAT MY SHACKLES WERE NOT SET RIGHT. AT FIRST THE MECHANIC WHO WORKED AT A TIRE AUTO AND RV REPAIR SAW IT AND OFFERED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT COULD NOT SINCE IT WAS IN HIS WORDS ON THE RECEIPT "EQUALIZER STRAPS NOT TIGHTENED CORRECTLY" AND HE COULD NOT TIGHTEN THEM BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURE WELDED THE NUTS TO THE BOLTS. I'VE CONTACTED COVERED WAGON TRAILERS AND THEY HAVE NOT OFFERED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND I'M CONCERNED THEY DON'T CARE. I'VE TAKEN MY EQUALIZER AND SHACKLES TO 3 PLACES AND ALL 3 SAID ITS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED AND COULD CAUSE PROBLEMS. *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
