Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

SERVICE BRAKES, AIR

Dec 2, 2022
394 units potentially affected
The defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Aspire and Insignia motorhomes. The service and supply reservoirs have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
The risk: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive braking, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the air reservoir, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2022. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS

Mar 19, 2018
130 units potentially affected
The defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2011-2012 and 2015-2016 Aspire built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) chassis. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak.
The risk: Electrical arcing in the presence of leaking power steering fluid can increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Freightliner dealers will reroute the power steering hose to provide proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began on May 1, 2018. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:RESERVOIR/TANK

Jan 30, 2018
393 units potentially affected
The defect: Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Aspire and 2017-2018 Insignia motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis. The air brake supply reservoir is less than 12x the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
The risk: The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive brake applications, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan service centers will replace the current air supply reservoir with one that has twice the capacity, free of charge. The recall began on February 16, 2018. Owners may contact Spartan Chassis at 1-800-543-4277 or Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

ON DEC. 12, 2018, I EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT ON MY 2015 ENTEGRA ASPIRE THAT HAD ABOUT 24,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON I-10, NEAR MARIANNA, FLORDIA AT ABOUT 63MPH. THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TIRE THAT BLEW OUT WAS A GOODYEAR G670 WITH A DATE OF 18/4 (APRIL, 2014). I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE MOTORHOME AND PULL IT OVER SAFELY. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED,NO ONE WAS INJURIED AND MY TOW VEHICLE WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE BLOWOUT BLEW OFF THE FRONT WHEEL WELL FENDER AND DESTROYED THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THIS AREA. THE DOOR AND THE ELECTRICAL STEPS WERE DAMAGED. THE PERMANENT STEPS WERE BROKEN AND THE TILES AROUND THE PASSENGER SEAT WERE CRACKED. ALSO THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE RECEIVED A HOLE AND CRACKS OF ABOUT 12 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE WIRING TO THE BIG AWNING WAS DESTROYED. THESE ARE JUST THE OBVIOUS THINGS I OBSERVED. THE BLOWOUT HAPPENED ABOUT 4:00PM. WE SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS. THE POLICE WERE A NO SHOW. ABOUT 10:00PM THE TIRE MAN SHOWED UP. HE REPLACED OUR TIRE AND SAID HE THOUGHT THE MOTORHOME WAS DRIVABLE. I DROVE THE RV TO THE REST AREA THAT WAS ABOUT 5 MILES AWAY. THE WRECKER SERVICE WAS WAITING FOR US AT THE REST AREA. AFTER HE EXAMINED THE MOTORHOME HE THOUGHT I SHOULD DRIVE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP INSTEAD OF HAVING IT TOWED. HE TRIED TO BRING IN THE ELECTRICAL STEPS BUT THEY WOULD NOT COME IN. I PARKED THE COACH IN THE REST AREA FOR THE NIGHT. ON DEC. 13TH, I SLOWLY DROVE THE MOTORHOME TO ALLIANCE COACH IN DAVENPORT, FLORDIA. THE MOTORHOME HAS NOW BEEN IN THE COLLISION CENTER FOR 8 WEEKS. THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WAS FOR OVER $10,000. THE SUPPLEMENTAL CLAIMS HAVE NOT BEEN FILED YET. THE WIRING WAS MORE COMPLICATED THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. THE FENDER HAS FINALLY COME IN.

I WAS TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 75 NORTHBOUND JUST NORTH OF OCALA, FL WHEN MY 2015 ENTEGRA ASPIRE MOTORHOME SUFFERED A TIRE BLOWOUT TO THE LEFT FRONT STEER TIRE. THE TIRE TYPE IS A GOODYEAR G670RV 295/80R22.5. THERE WERE NO PRIOR INDICATIONS THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE. THE INCIDENT RESULTED IN MOMENTARY LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AS WELL AS CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE MOTORHOME IN THE WHEEL WELL AREA. THIS AREA HOUSED A WIRING HARNESS AND SUPPORT STRUCTURES FOR THE BODY COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE TIRE BELT FRAGMENTS DAMAGED THE VEHICLE I WAS TOWING AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO ANOTHER PERSON'S VEHICLE WHO WAS BEHIND MY MOTORHOME ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURED MY WIFE POSTED ON AN ENTEGRA SOCIAL MEDIA GROUP WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE A MULTITUDE OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF TIRE ON THEIR MOTORHOME. I SUBSEQUENTLY HAVE PURCHASED A DIFFERENT BRAND OF REPLACEMENT TIRES FOR THE MOTORHOME AS I DO NOT TRUST THE GOODYEAR TIRES ON THE MOTORHOME. THE DATE CODE ON THE TIRES WERE (1914) SO ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF DRY ROTTING ON THE TIRES AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SIT FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.
