ON 6/17/11 I WAS DRIVING THE RV I JUST PURCHASED ON 6/1/11 WITH MY 2 SONS AND HEARD ONE OF MY BACK TIRES BLOW OUT. PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND THE PASSENGER INSIDE REAR TIRE HAD BLOWN OFF. DROVE TO A GARAGE WHERE THEY PUT THE SPARE ON. ON 7/28/11 MY WIFE AND I AND ANOTHER COUPLE WERE ON OUR WAY TO FLORIDA IN THE RV. WE DROVE 200 MILES WHEN ONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT. WHEN WE FOUND A GAS STATION TO PULL OVER AT WE SAW THAT IT WAS THE SPARE TIRE WE HAD REPLACED FROM THE FIRST BLOWOUT. THE GARAGE ONLY HAD 1 USED TIRE THAT THEY GAVE US TO GET US TO A TIRE DEALER. AT OUR NEXT STOP FOR GAS WE CHECKED THE TIRES AND NOTICED THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR INSIDE TIRE WAS HOT AND HUMPED IN THE MIDDLE. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER WE COULD SMELL RUBBER AND THEN STARTED HEARING PIECES OF THE TIRE COMING OFF. WE FOUND A TIRE DEALERSHIP IN GEORGIA AND PURCHASED 3 NEW FIRESTONE TIRES WHICH WAS WHAT WE HAD ON THE FRONT OF THE RV. THE 4 TIRES ON THE BACK AND THE SPARE WERE ALL COOPER TIRES AND WERE BOUGHT IN 2009. THE RV ONLY HAD A TOTAL OF 24,000 MILES ON IT WHEN WE BOUGHT IT AND SINCE THE COOPER TIRES WERE JUST BOUGHT IN 2009 THEY COULDN'T HAVE HAD MANY MILES ON THEM AND I DON'T THINK THE SPARE HAD EVER BEEN ON THE ROAD UNTIL WE PUT IT ON. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRES IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM. *TR

SAFETY BELT DO NOT RETRACT, FLEETWOOD AND FORD ARE BLAMING IT ON EACH OTHER, BOTH KNOW OF THE CONFLICTING DESIGN. PONLSBO'S SUGGESTION IS TO LUBE THE SEAT BELT, TO HELP IT SLIDE BETTER.

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
SOME MOTORHOMES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN FEBRUARY 14, 2000 AND JUNE 23, 2000 ON THE 191 INCH WHEELBASE CHEVROLET CHASSIS MAY HAVE A FRONT DRIVE SHAFT THAT IS NOT ENGAGING THE TRANSMISSION FAR ENOUGH. *TT
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
