I PURCHASED MY MOTOR HOME NEW IN 2009, A FLEET WOOD TIOGA CLASS C . DROVE THE MOTOR HOME APPROX .25,000 MILES WITH NO TIRE PROBLEMS. IN MAY OF 2013 I NEEDED TO REPLACE ALL 6 TIRES DUE TO CRACKS IN THE SIDEWALLS. I REPLACED ALL 6 TIRES WITH DELTA ESSENTIAL TIRES LT225/75R16 WHICH WAS THE SAME SIZE TIRE THAT WAS ON THE MOTOR HOME ORIGINALLY. IN LATE MAY 2013 WE TOOK A TRIP THRU THE MIDWEST TO CALIFORNIA AND BACK HOME APPROX. 7,500 MILES WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM THE TRIP I PERFORMED A ROUTINE INSPECTION OF THE MOTOR HOME AND FOUND A BUBBLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE INSIDE REAR DUAL TIRE WHICH I HAD REPLACED BY THE TIRE DEALER. AFTER STAYING HOME FOR ABOUT A MONTH WE LEFT HOME (PENNSYLVANIA) FOR DISNEY IN FLORIDA. ON THE SECOND DAY OF THE TRIP DRIVING ABOUT 62 MPH. THE DRIVERS SIDE OUTSIDE REAR DUAL TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE AND THE TIRE EXPLODED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL WELL AND ADJACENT COMPARTMENTS. AFTER GETTING THE TIRE CHANGED ON SIDE OF INTERSTATE 95 WE FOUND A PLACE TO STAY FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING BEFORE LEAVING I PERFORMED AN INSPECTION OF THE TIRES AND FOUND NOTHING UNUSUAL. ABOUT 3 HOURS INTO THIS DAYS TRIP, DRIVING 62 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE OUTSIDE REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE AND THE TIRE EXPLODED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL WELL AND ADJACENT COMPARTMENTS. AFTER GETTING THIS TIRE REPLACED ON THE SIDE OF INTERSTATE 95. WE VERY NERVOUSLY FINISHED OUR TRIP TO DISNEY AND HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. SO 3 OF THE 6 NEW TIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE REMAINING 3 TIRES. WE ARE WORKING WITH THE TIRE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE STARTED A CLAIM WITH THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. I FEEL THE TIRE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR POSSIBLE MANUFACTURING DEFECTS ON THESE TIRE WHICH WERE MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. AS A NOTE I DROVE 25,000 MILES ON THE ORIGINAL TIRES WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS WHICH ATTEST THAT I DO CARE FOR MY TIRES. *TR

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
