I recently replaced a defective reductant (DEF) pump and wiring harness due to corrosion. The cause and repairs were diagnosed and performed by a ford dealership. Without addressing the issue the vehicle would randomly engage a "limp" mode and limit the speed to 50 mph, forcing the driver to operate at unsafe speeds on freeways and highways. Defect is a hazard to driver and other vehicles due to the unpredictable speed control caused by the defective parts. Ford is aware of the defective part and issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-2161.

Ford trucks have a known issue of cameras fogging up with condensation. Becomes very difficult to see where you’re backing into. The condensation gets so bad you can’t see at all sometimes. These trucks are big and need the cameras to assist in and out of tight spaces or keep you from rolling over something without knowing it.

Backup camera intermittently does not switch off when shifting into drive and moving forward, leaving a display that shows the road running backwards as you drive forwards, from there it may randomly turn bright blue, become pixelated - very distracting. Only way I've found to get it back to normal is to turn the vehicle completely off, and restart it. Yes it can be inspected, however it does happens intermittently, I can make and produce a video clip if necessary. No it hasn't been been inspected by anybody other than myself or my passengers. No there are not any warning lamps/messages/etc...

WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE THE SAID VEHICLE HIT A BUMP OR BAD SPOT IN THE ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT OF VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE EXTREMELY ERRATIC. I IMMEDIATELY HELD ON, LOOKED IN MIRRORS FOR OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME AND HAD TO HIT THE BRAKES. THE TRUCK HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY GET IT OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WE HAPPENED TO BE ON A 65MPH HIGHWAY. WITH HAZARD LIGHTS FLASHING WE DID MANAGE TO GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD TO THE SHOULDER. I NEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT IT WAS. MY WIFE WAS WITH ME AT THE TIME AS WELL. WE HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW. AT 9000 MILES THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THEN AGAIN AT 16,500, 18,900, 24,440 AND THE MOST RECENT TIME IS 27,500. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED 4 PRIOR TIMES. EACH TIME THEY CHANGE THE STEERING DAMPER AND I GET MY VEHICLE BACK. NOW I AM TOLD I NEED NEW TIRES, A CASTER ADJUSTMENT AND POSSIBLY ANOTHER DAMPER. SURPRISE THE DAMPERS ARE ON BACK ORDER.I'M VERY SURPRISED THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. LUCKILY I GUESS PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED YET. THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT. THIS IS MY THIRD NEW TRUCK FROM FORD. I THINK WE HAVE CERTAINLY SPENT OUR FAIR SHARE OF MONEY WITH THEM. FIX OUR TRUCK SO WE CAN FEEL SAFE WHEN WE PULL OUR CAMPER AROUND THE COUNTRY. THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK. THANKS FOR READING OUR EXPERIENCE.

AT 45-65 MPH IF THE TRUCK HITS THE SLIGHTEST BUMP IN THE ROAD THE TIRES AND STEERING WHEEL START SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. YOU LOSE ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE UNLESS YOU CAN STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE CAUSING A CRASH. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED THE TRUCK DRIFTED THROUGH 4 LANES BEFORE COMING TO A STOP.

UPON COLD START, THE AT IN 'M' MANUAL MODE, FIRST GEAR OR 'R', EITHER 4WD LO, HI OR 2WD, WHEN ACCELERATED UP TO 1500-1800RPMS, VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE BY ITSELF, WITHOUT OPERATORS FOOT ON ACCELERATOR INCREASING SPEED AND RPMS APPROACHING 4000 RPMS. BRAKING IS POSSIBLE AND WILL SLOW TO IDLE RPMS SAFELY, BUT IF INCREASED AGAIN WITH FOOT ON ACCELERATOR TO 1500-1800 RPMS, SYMPTOM WILL REPEAT UNTIL WARMED UP THRESHOLD HAS BEEN REACHED. THIS IS BETWEEN 3-5 MINUTES AFTER COLD START. ALL IS NORMAL AFTER THIS TIME AND VEHICLE WILL NOT INCREASE IN SPEED BY ITSELF. IF VEHICLE SITS FOR 2-3 HRS, SYMPTOM CAN BE REPEATED. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DOES NOT SEEM TO PLAY A FACTOR. IT IS MOST EASILY EXPERIENCED IN 4WD LO, AS THE SPEED IS LOWER, YET THE RPMS ARE THE SAME AS IN 4WD HI OR 2WD. I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS WHEN BACKING UP (IN 'R') IN 4WD LO AFTER A COLD START AND HAD TO INCREASE SPEED AND RPMS BEYOND 1500 WHEN VEHICLE STARTING INCREASING IN SPEED BY ITSELF. I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE AND NO DAMAGE OR INJURY OCCURRED. I HAVE SINCE EXPERIMENTED TO DETERMINE EXACTLY WHEN THIS SYMPTOM OCCURS.

CRASH ALERT SENSOR AND ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL KEEP GOING OUT. NOW THE CRASH SENSOR WHICH PRE-LOADS THE BRAKES IS GOING OFF WHEN I AM PARKED. IT SEEMS LIKE IF I SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN AND RESTART IT IS BACK WORKING, BUT IF THIS SYSTEM IS PRE-LOADING MY BRAKES FOR A FULL BRAKE APPLICATION WHEN I DONT NEED IT, I MIGHT GET REAR-ENDED FOR A SLAMMING BRAKE APPLICATION WHEN NOT NEEDED. I HAVE READ ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THIS ISSUE AND PARTS ARE BACK ORDERED. I AM GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX THIS ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING THE 2017 FORD F350 PICKUP TRUCK DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH, WHENEVER I DROVE ACROSS BRIDGES OR HIT SMALL BUMPS, THE PICKUP TRUCK WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE UNTIL SPEED WAS REDUCED TO UNDER 50 MPH. THIS INCIDENT IS KNOW AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". THE TRUCK HAD 14,000 MILES ON IT THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE TRACK BAR, SENT BACK, AND A WEEK LATER THE SAME ISSUE OF THE "DEATH WOBBLE" HAPPENED AGAIN.
