The defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2027 Genesis G80 vehicles. The ignition coil ground bolt may be loose, resulting in an engine misfire or stall while driving.
The risk: An misfire or loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will tighten the ignition coil ground bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 27, 2026. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Hyundai's number for this recall is 034G. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov July 31, 2026.

ENGINE

Certain 2026MY G70 (IK) and 2027MY G80 (RG3) vehicles may exhibit a water-flowing or gurgling noise from the front center air vents during engine start-up. This condition may becaused by trapped air within the engine cooling system. Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 26-01-064G provides instructions to properly bleed the cooling system and remove any trapped air.
