While driving at 35mph on a straight section of road the warning sounded, the display said "steering wheel locked" and I could not turn the steering wheel for about 5 seconds, then it returned to normal operation. We bought the car new in July 2025. I found numerous posts on line describing similar or worse experiences. The dealership performed tests and could not determine a cause.

The contact owns a 2026 Genesis GV70. The contact stated that while driving 14 MPH, the brakes independently engaged, causing the contact’s head to hit the driver’s side door/window area, sustaining an injury to the head. The contact lost consciousness for a brief moment. No warning light was illuminated however, the contact mentioned the vehicle engaged Emergency Mode. Neither the dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. There was no medical attention required. The vehicle was not yet taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100.

On XXX while driving at approximately 5mph in a parking lot my Genesis GV70 shifted from Drive to Park by itself causing the car and my wife and I to lurch forward and come to a stop! The car would not come out of Park and a warning came up after the fact saying to contact immediate service. My wife and I were in the car and there were no injuries. If this occurred at a higher rate of speed on a busy highway I cannot imagine what would have happened. I immediately called Genesis Road Assistance for a tow. The car was towed by flat bed to the dealer in [XXX], where I purchased the car, approximately 10 miles away where it sits today waiting for service. My wife and I are afraid to drive this car ever again as it is brand new with only 250 miles on the odometer. *No warnings of any kind prior to the incident. while driving the vehicle, the driver's seat moves to the furthest position, away from the steering wheel and pedals. The memory position or forward/back control does not work consistently to put the seat in a more comfortable seating position. This is a random occurrence that can happen several times a day everyday or once or twice every other month. It is unsafe during taking off from a light, as the seat moves back I can barely reach the accelerator. During braking, it's harder to apply pressure to the brake pedal. Also, my mirrors are harder to use because of the different seat position. I have an appointment coming up but it will have been well over a month since I told the service department. I have some video of the controls not working after the seat has moved back, but it is harder to get video while the seat is moving back and I'm driving. This has been an issue since SEP 2025 or so, but it has been happening a lot more recently this past month

2026 GV70, rattle onset at exactly 50 mph. Aero-induced (not road-surface dependent) Local dealer service department confirmed the same rattle on two other 2026 GV70s on the lot.

The driver‑side display on my 2026 Genesis GV70 randomly goes black or becomes distorted. This defect is included in Recall No. 26V019. Despite this, Genesis Consumer Affairs and the dealership (Homestead Hyundai/Genesis) refuse to perform the required software update that corrects the issue, claiming the vehicle is “already updated” — a statement that directly contradicts the official Genesis documentation, which I personally obtained. Instead of applying the required software upgrade, the dealership replaced the monitor. The replacement failed in the exact same way, proving the issue is not hardware‑related. When the driver‑side display goes black, I lose critical driving information, creating a clear safety concern. They refuse to update software.

I leased a 2026 Electric GV70 from Genesis in June 2025. In January of 2026, when driving the car I got a warning sign to stop the vehicle and check the battery supply. At that point, the car went into sever power reduction and would only go 20 MPH or so. After 20-30 minutes, the car completely shut down and became inoperable. Luckily, I was near home and was able to get my car home. I had to have the vehicle towed on wheels as it was completely frozen to the dealership. They diagnosed it as a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). They replaced the ICCU but identified other issues that to this day are unresolved and my car is still in the shop. These cars were subject to a recall for ICCU failure but only to model year 2025. These ICCUs are continuing to fail on the 2026 models, and at an alarming rate. The head of service at the dealership told me they were dealing with "hundreds" of ICCU failures on Hyundai/Genesis vehicles. If I had been on a highway traveling at higher speeds and the car suddenly lost almost all power and would only drive for another few miles before completely shutting down, it would have created a dangerous situation. These cars need to be recalled - again. Hyundai/Genesis clearly dont know how to make electric cars/battery packs that work and should be held accountable. I believe they are downplaying this situation due to the prior recalls/class action lawsuits and dont want to experience further reputational damage.

When stopped at a stoplight with my foot on the brake and the transmission in drive (D), after 15-30 seconds, the transmission shifts into park and the engine starts. (the autostart was in the default position). This has occurred repeatedly. The the autostart button is pressed and the light is on, the transmission reacts normally. I have a video but it is larger than 10MB

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Certain GV70 (JK1A) vehicles may exhibit a Data Connectivity Unit (DCU) software error due to the internal timer initialization logic not being implemented. The DCU module may shut down telematics services after one year. This bulletin provides instructions to perform a software update for the DCU module.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Certain 2026MY GV70 (JK1A) and 2026MY GV70 Electrified (JK1A) vehicles may exhibit a Data Communication Unit (DCU) software error due to the internal timer initialization logic not being implemented. The DCU module may shut down telematics services after one year. Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) 26-01-017G-1 26-01-018G-1 provide instructions to perform a software update for the DCU module. Over-the-Air (OTA): This update can also be conducted via OTA. Guests cancomplete on their own if they have an active subscription to Genesis Connected Services. A visit to retailers is not required if the update is conducted via OTA.
ENGINE
Certain 2026MY G70 (IK) and 2027MY G80 (RG3) vehicles may exhibit a water-flowing or gurgling noise from the front center air vents during engine start-up. This condition may becaused by trapped air within the engine cooling system. Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 26-01-064G provides instructions to properly bleed the cooling system and remove any trapped air.
ENGINE
Certain 2026MY G70 (IK) and 2027MY G80 (RG3) vehicles may exhibit a water-flowing or gurgling noise from the front center air vents during engine start-up. This condition may be caused by trapped air within the engine cooling system. Follow the procedure below to properly bleed the cooling system and remove any trapped air.
ENGINE
Some Genesis vehicles (listed below) equipped with Lambda-III 3.5T-GDI engines may exhibit reduced heater performance due to engine coolant deposits clogging the heater core. This bulletin provides instructions to verify the concern and to replace the front and rear heater core (if applicable).
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
This bulletin provides information related to the navigation and head unit software changes introduced in the 2026 1st Navigation Map and Software Update. The changes may vary depending on vehicle type, model, and navigation system. Refer to the 2026 1st Navigation Map and Software Update Key Improvements and Additional Improvements tables in this TSB for a list of specific changes. The software can be downloaded via Navigation Updater (NAU) and updated by USB.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
