2017 GMC Acadia Other / unspecified Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the other system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Other / unspecified reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I parked uphill on my driveway and put car in park to drop off groceries . My trunk didn’t not open which usually only happens when vehicle is in drive. I felt my car begin to move so I jumped in to discover dash said shift to park. This is major safety issue and happens quite often now. Under this circumstance vehicle can’t turn off. Had to replace battery for always draining. Also seatbelts in back seat and passenger seat do not buckle. There was a recall at one point however it disappeared from my dash board and now reads as completed however I never had the opportunity to correct the recall.

BOTH REAR TIRES, MICHELIN TOTAL PERFORMANCE WITH 29,322 MILES ON THEM ARE LOSING CHUNKS OF RUBBER FROM THE TREAD. THE TREADS ARE NOT DOWN TO THE WEAR LINES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BECAUSE I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THE VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT HELP ME. THIS WAS FIRST NOTED WHEN THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY.

PREMATURE TREAD WEAR ON ALL 4 TIRES. CAR HAS 34400 MILES ON IT. TOOK CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND ASKED SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO LOOK AT TIRES. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A PROBLEM SEEN A LOT WITH 2017 ACADIAS. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT MICHELIN WOULD PAY TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES BUT WOULD SPLIT THE COST WITH ME, MEANING I HAVE TO PAY 500-600 DOLLARS FOR NEW TIRES WHEN GMC AND MICHELIN KNOW THIS IS AN ISSUE. THESE ARE 60000 MILE TIRES AND SHOULD NOT BE WORN THIS BADLY AT 34400 MILES. I LEASE THIS CAR AND HAVE A YEAR LEFT. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE TIRES. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT MICHELIN'S OFFER TO SPLIT COST IS ONLY GOOD UNTIL 36000 MILES WHICH DOESN'T GIVE ME MUCH TIME TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO OR PURSUE A MORE SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION. IF I DON'T REPLACE THE TIRES IN THE NEXT MONTH OR SO, I WILL HAVE TO PAY FULL COST TO REPLACE THEM LATER. IF I TURN THE CAR IN EARLY, I HAVE 13 PAYMENTS LEFT TO ROLL INTO A NEW LEASE WHICH INCREASES MY MONTHLY PAYMENT SIGNIFICANTLY. MICHELIN AND/OR GM NEED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND PUT ALL NEW TIRES ON AT NO COST TO ME.

WE LEASED A 2017 GMC ACADIA BACK IN OCT. OF 2016. LAST WEEK MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HOME IN WET CONDITIONS DUE TO RAIN AND GOING AROUND 35 MILES PER HOUR WHERE SHE HYDROPLANED THE CAR. LUCKILY WHEN SHE HIT THE CURB, THE CAR CORRECTED ITSELF AND LUCKILY THERE WAS NOTHING MORE SERIOUS. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL GARAGE TO INSPECT AND UPON REVIEW, HE STATED THAT ALL 4 TIRES HAVE DRY ROT AND SHOULD BE CHANGED IMMEDIATELY. HE ADVISED US TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, THEY STATED THAT THE TIRES ARE WEAR AND TEAR AND ARE NOT COVERED HOWEVER I FEEL THESE ARE DEFECTIVE TIRES. WE HAVE 26K MILES ON THE CAR AND THIS OCT. WILL BE 3 YEARS SO WE ARE AVERAGING UNDER 10K A YEAR. I AM ATTACHING PICTURES SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT WE ARE SPEAKING OF AND ASK YOU TO ADVISE US AND OUR DEALERSHIP WHICH IS VAN BUREN BUICK GMC LOCATED IN NEW HYDE PARK, NY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH THESE TIRES AND ASK THAT YOU STEP IN AND ASSIST US. I HAVE 2 YOUNG DAUGHTERS AND DO NOT WANT SOMETHING MORE HAPPEN UNTIL THIS IS ADDRESSED.

I HAVE HAD A VIBRATION IN MY CAR WHEN YOU WOULD DRIVE ALL THE TIME TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS THEY COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT. THEY ALL SAID IT WAS NORMAL WHY THE CAR DRIVES. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE TIRES. TOOK IT TO NTB TALK TO THEM ABOUT HE SAID IT'S TIRES MOST LIKELY. SO I CALL TIRE MANUFACTURER AND THEY GAVE ME NEW TIRES. I REQUESTED GM DO THIS THEY TOLD ME NO. I HAD THEM REPLACED BY NTB I REQUESTED TO GM THEY REIMBURSE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE TIRES WHICH WAS A LITTLE OVER $101.00 THEY SAID NO. I WANT TO BE HELPED WITH THIS. GM DIDN'T WANT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND FIX THE ISSUE ALSO PAY ME BACK FOR WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT WOULDN'T REPLACE THE TIRES SO I HAD TO DO WHAT I HAD TO TO GIVE MY WIFE AND SON A SAFE CAR TO BE IN. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
