The vehicle suffers from a persistent transmission defect including shuttering bucking slipping torque converter failure valve body failure twice metal debris improper down shifting chirping noises and related liability and safety issues. The vehicle has undergone multiple unsuccessful repair attempts at authorise GM dealerships. These repairs include torque converter replacement valve body replacement twice solenoid replacement fluid services software updates. The transmission problems have persisted despite these efforts and the vehicle has been out of service for more than 22 business days including a breakdown driving to Florida. I have filed a claim through GM but it seems like it just keeps getting pushed further and further away this is a serious safety issue as I fear for those driving around me and myself that I may cause an accident with the bucking slipping and failure to operate properly on the road.

I passed the recall inspection on 12/17/2025 and the higher viscosity oil was put into my vehicle. On 12/25/2025 my vehicle's engine shut off while I was traveling on the highway (I-25). The vehicle went into to neutral and I had to pull over to the side of the highway without power. The vehicle started again and as I was merging onto the highway it shut down again. The truck started again and I was able to drive it home. There were no codes found when I took it in for service on 12/26/2025. On 01/24/2026 I was driving on the highway (US-40) and I had complete engine failure. I had to get my vehicle towed to the service center and a new motor was installed. On March 27th the vehicle's engine shut off again while driving on the highway (US-191). There were no codes or check engine lights on this time either. The service records state that the starter mount stud was loose.

At speeds of 65-75, both with the adaptive cruise control enabled and disabled, I accelerated a little bit to pick up speed and pass another vehicle. The vehicle responded initially by gaining speed, then it feels like I hit something and the front brakes lock up for 1-2 seconds and the tires start screeching from sliding, then everything resumes to normal. I was very shocked during a recent roadtrip when this happened 4-5 times. I feel like my safety and my family’s safety is at risk and of the 2 dealerships I called, they don’t prioritize it and make it seem like a minor repair.

I am reporting a safety-related defect involving the blind zone alert system. The system failed repeatedly and required multiple service visits. Initial repairs did not resolve the issue. The dealership ultimately determined the cause to be a faulty wiring harness, which has now been replaced and appears to have corrected the issue. Safety Concern: Failure of a critical safety system Increased risk during lane changes Issue persisted across multiple repair attempts Additional Concern: The delay in identifying the defect required multiple service visits and resulted in significant out-of-pocket costs. Request: Investigation into: Wiring harness defects affecting safety systems Reliability of blind zone monitoring systems

I purchased my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 on July 4, 2024. Shortly after purchase, the vehicle began experiencing recurring electrical and electronic malfunctions affecting multiple safety and driver-assistance systems. These issues include power mirrors not consistently folding when the vehicle is locked, the digital speed (MPH) intermittently not displaying on the dashboard, driver seat memory not always setting upon entry, and blind spot warning indicators activating while driving when no vehicles or objects are present. More critically, the rear parking assist sensors do not function consistently and often fail to alert before contact with an object. I have backed into objects on multiple occasions before the sensors activated or without any warning, creating a safety risk while reversing. I first brought the vehicle to the dealership on January 13, 2025 for these issues, but they were not resolved. I purchased two GMC-branded trailer cameras in December 2024 that are advertised as compatible with this vehicle. On September 1, 2025, I returned to the dealership when the “invisible trailer” feature became inoperable. The trailer camera system frequently shows a black screen, cuts out intermittently, or fails to display an image. I returned again on September 11, 2025 due to continued failure of the invisible trailer feature and rear parking assist. The dealership kept my vehicle until December 2, 2025 (approximately one month), but the issues remain unresolved. I am scheduled to return again in January. These failures reduce rear visibility and compromise multiple safety systems. Despite repeated dealership repair attempts and extended service time, the problems persist, suggesting a defect involving the vehicle’s electrical system, sensors, software, or camera modules. I have photo and video documentation of these failures.

It started happening after a software update in May of 2025. We have provided GM and the dealership with Video evidence, along with the dealership mechanic replicating the problems. GM states that SC is operating as intended and that we are not to bring the truck in for service for that issue again. they denied buy back twice now.

I was traveling on the interstate, going a little over 70 MPH as I was passing a tractor and trailer. There were no other vehicles in front of me. Suddenly the truck jerked like the breaks were being applied and my speed was quickly reduced to around 60 MPH. The heads up display showed a crash alert orange symbol. I pushed the gas to try to get back up to speed but the truck would not accelerate and the speed kept dropping. I pulled over to the berm and came to a stop. There was a message on the message center but it went away before I could read it with everything else happening. I put the truck in park and waited a minute then I pulled back out and was able to get the truck back up to speed and home. I plan to contact my dealer tomorrow. The ruck was involved in an accident that damaged the front in earlier this year so I believe some or all of those sensors have been replaced. This is the first issue we’ve had since purchase. If there would have been a vehicle following behind me, the rapid breaking/deceleration could have caused an accident. Also the inability for me to regain my speed when traveling on an interstate was a danger to myself and others.

TWICE in the past month +. On [XXX] my wife and I were on our way to a family wedding and I was driving approx 75 MPH on [XXX]. I don't recall if I had cruise control on or not as I rarely use it. There was no vehicle was in front of me for hundreds of yards yet all of a sudden the vehicle started to brake very hard. I accelerated as I did not know what was going on and I had a car in back of me that started to gain. THEN last Friday ([XXX}) with my wife following me in her car on [XXX] through Ellicott City MD I was traveling at approx 25-30 MPH through a very small historic town when all of a sudden the same [XXX] thing happened. DEF no CC on . When we got to our destination I asked my wife if she saw my brakes come on suddenly?. She replied yes and said she saw the truck dip hard. I told her the brakes did it again. She said I should call the dealer. I did not as they are USELESS! THEN the electronics. On Star has a catalog of my complaints. The radio selections I make just disappear from the screen: Apple Car Play disappears from the touch screen and just goes dark. I have to stop the truck..(per on-star) open the door.. get out.. lock it.. wait 2 minutes.. get back in .. restart the truck, and this re-sets the computers(s). RIDICULOUS! I do not have Sirius but the radio goes dark often for about 2-3 seconds., then comes back on. I was told it is my I-Phone is causing this. [XXX]! What does my phone have to do with AM/FM radio?? I was told by GMC there is a patch to update the software. Koons GMC told me there was no such patch nor recall. I paid nearly $80,000 for this piece of [XXX]! The vehicle’s RPM’s shot up to 4000+ and jolted the truck forward without pressing the gas pedal. The vehicle made a loud noise and would not accelerate in the middle of the road. The vehicle would only accelerate after giving it minimal gas from the pedal. I have experienced several occurrences of unintended acceleration while operating the vehicle at low speed. Two recent examples; 1) the truck accelerated rapidly while I was driving into my garage, and 2) the truck accelerated suddenly when pulling forward out of a parking spot in the morning shortly after starting the vehicle. In all cases, a hard application of the brake pedal slowed the vehicle. I considered whether this was operator error, possibly engaging cruise control inadvertently while turning the steering wheel, but the incident this morning does not support that potential cause. I have not spoken to the dealer about this issue.

On December 26th 2024, I was travelling 5 mph or less while pulling into a parking space at a restaurant. As I let the steering wheel return to center, my hand hit the Resume button on the left side of the steering wheel and the vehicle immediately began to accelerate. I was able to step on the brake to prevent the vehicle from hitting the wall of the restaurant. The next day on December 27th, 2024, i was able to duplicate the problem. I had set the cruise at 55 mph before I came to a stop at a traffic light. I released the brake and pressed the Resume button and the vehicle immediately accelerated from a dead stop. I've been an automotive mechanic for over 30 years and I've never seen this happen before. It's my understanding that vehicles wouldn't engage cruise control unless the speed was over 35 mph.
