What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Electrical
Reports naming the electrical system — wiring, battery, charging, control modules, infotainment and electrical accessories.
From owner reports, verbatim
Intermittent trailer disconnect and loss of electric trailer brake output while towing Airstream. The truck is connected to the trailer through the seven Way plug. There are no modifications to the truck. This is a safety hazard as I pull a 9000+ lb trailer. Trailer connection drops momentarily and integrated trailer brake controller loses communication with trailer brakes. I went on a 5000 mile trip and my trailer brakes were connecting in disconnecting consistently. Every time there was a disconnection or connection the vehicle would “ding ding. This virtually happened consistently while we were on this long trip. During the trip, we tried to wedge the plug tight and zip tie the door shut, attempting to keep the plug tight. My truck is at the dealership, waiting on a “tool“. This is the second time it has been in the shop for this issue. I supplied a picture of the dash message after it got tired of connecting and disconnecting. I feel this is a serious safety issue. IOK Radio Module failure. Inhibits hands free calling, total loss of all audio including safety chimes, dropped emergency call capability, multiple software updates have failed to resolve it. Vehicle is still under warranty.
Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.
From owner reports, verbatim
While towing my fifth-wheel trailer, I was descending a hill (I had my tow/haul switch engaged) when I noticed an issue with my vehicle. Upon reaching the bottom of the hill and beginning to decelerate, when applying gas to continue up the hill the vehicle shuddered noticeably. A warning light briefly illuminated on the dashboard and then turned off shortly afterward. Although the warning light went away, the vehicle continued to exhibit a slight vibration, particularly between approximately 25 and 50 mph. I was able to drive the vehicle home safely and subsequently brought it to the dealership for inspection. The dealership performed a diagnostic scan and retrieved fault codes. Based on their findings, they have determined that the transmission requires replacement and are proceeding with that repair. They also found a different fluid in the transmission fluid, they skipped the testing and got permission to change out the transmission
I was merging onto the highway in my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4X equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine at about 50mph when the gauge cluster emitted a “Reduced Acceleration Drive With Care” message followed by a check engine light. The check engine light presented indicated a “P0747” and “P0700” code. The vehicle was then stuck in 5th gear at highway speeds. Luckily there was no traffic present during this event due to the reduced acceleration of the vehicle and confusion caused to the operator. This could have been a dangerous situation due to the sudden change in handling of the vehicle. I have since then had the vehicle towed to the dealership in which it was purchased from for them to do their investigation to see how to fix the issue. This is a very well known issue with these GM heavy duty pickups. There is currently a recall on these trucks for this exact issue but my truck at this point in time is not included in said recall. I believe the recall is for 2020-2022 vehicles. Mine happens to be a 2024 which uses the same transmission as the older model vehicles in the recall. There are many other owners of these trucks like myself who have experienced this exact same issue. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this issue has been reported either. Something must be done about this.
Brakes
Reports naming service brakes, the antilock braking system, brake hoses, master cylinders or the parking brake.
From owner reports, verbatim

Premature brake pad wear on all Brakes. All break pads worn down and had to be replaced at or before 25,000 miles. No trailer pulling and only light driving. Dealer stated rotors needed to be turned as well due to extremely low brake life.
Driver assistance
Reports naming forward-collision avoidance, lane keeping, back-over prevention, cruise control and related electronic driver-assistance systems.
From owner reports, verbatim
Unexpected braking at highway speeds. This has at least 50 times at highway speeds. The truck has experienced repeated false Forward Collision Alerts and un-commanded Automatic Emergency Braking events. Adaptive Cruise Control frequently detects roadside objects and vehicles in adjacent lanes, particularly on curves. The vehicle has never had windshield replacement, front-end damage, suspension modifications, or aftermarket accessories. This is creating a safety hazard because the truck brakes unexpectedly in traffic at any speed.
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while reversing, the rear-view camera displayed a blank screen. The 4WD system engaged unintendedly, and the park assist sensor was inoperable while an unknown message was displayed. Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who replaced an unknown module and reset the computer, but the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer five times, but the failure recurred after several unknown repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had requested for a buyback from the dealer, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
Engine
Reports naming the engine itself — including stalling, misfires, oil consumption, cooling and internal engine components.
From owner reports, verbatim

Oil cooler blew and mixed oil in coolant reservoir. Possibly causes overheating and engine seizure. This has been confirmed with a certified GM service center. The service center inspected fixed it then within 5 miles had to be returned to the dealer because it happened again.
Body & structure
Reports naming the vehicle structure, frame, body panels, doors, hood and trim.
From owner reports, verbatim
During a drive home, while in motion, the tailgate of the vehicle opened on its own. This has occurred after the recall to repair this issue was already performed. I know the tailgate was shut prior to the drive because I back into my parking spot and walk the sidewalk behind my truck prior to starting the vehicle.
My truck is experiencing an issue that is already a recall for similar trucks, but my VIN is not included in the recall. My tailgate opens on its own. This sometimes happens when I am driving down the road. This is a safety risk because if I am hauling something in the back, and the tailgate drops down, there is a chance the load could fall out of the truck and harm another vehicle or person that is behind my truck. I brought the truck to the dealer and they said they could not find any evidence of this issue, even though they stated that it is a known issues with these trucks. There were no waring lamps or messages. The only symptoms are that the battery can die if the truck is not used for a day or more and that the tailgate opens on its own whether the truck is parked or driving.

Fuel system
Reports naming fuel storage or delivery — tanks, pumps, lines, injectors and fuel leaks.
From owner reports, verbatim
The vehicle went into low power mode and said to pull over. As soon as that message appeared the next warning appeared and said to shift to neutral and pull over immediately and attempt to restart. The vehicle immediately shut off after second warning before having time to pull over from first message. I was able to pull most of the way off the road as the vehicle had shut off there was no power steering and had limited ability to steer the vehicle. This all happened without advance warning or any other warning that there was an issue while traveling at over 75mph. Vehicle would not restart and needed to be towed. Dealer stated it was a fule control module that was hard to get due to a recall. But that my vehicle was not part of that recall.
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling roughly, and the RPM fluctuated between 500 and 1,000 RPM while idling. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the fuel economy had decreased to 13 miles per gallon. The contact stated that upon scanning the vehicle, the contact retrieved DTC: P0606 and P062B. The contact related the failure to GM Campaign Number: N232415860 (Fuel Injector Flow Rate Compensation). The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Tires & wheels
Reports naming tires, wheels, hubs, or the tire-pressure monitoring system.
From owner reports, verbatim
I bought this truck from a reputable GM dealership 2.5 weeks before this happening occurred. Tires only had 50k miles on them when they were rated for 80k miles: the front driver side Ttire ruptured while on major hwy in texas. No signs of air loss and the road was clear of any debris. Steering started to lightly shake and eventually came to a violent shake, then the front driver tire ruptured. Uncontrollable steering from the rupture caused the truck to slam and scrape into the concrete dividing barrier. If it were not for the other drivers around and being then cautioning their driving behaviors, this may have resulted fatally. Other drivers and my self may have easily collided with each other on a major traffic highway. I’m still extremely mindful of this happening again. This caused me as a customer, originally thinking this tire manufacturer is to be trusted, to not being a customer any longer as well as causing nearly $30,000 of needed repairs. From what I am reading from this site, plenty of other drivers have experienced the same, almost identical happenings. This is a safety issue that needs a recall on this line of tires and the manufacturer should be liable for all costs to the consumer witch includes vehicle rentals, hotel fees and insurance deductibles, s as well as the entire bill of repairs the insurance companies dish out. It appears from all of the complaints, Goodyear is producing unsafe products that is endangering consumers’ lives. Do the ethical thing Goodyear. Stand behind your product and protect, honor your customers. I have requested a subjugation claim with my insurance provider. The ruptured tire and related wheel are in my possession, available for inspection upon request. Police and GM roadside assistance were called as Onstar was prompted.
Traveling on I-10 doing approx 75 mph head a loud boom and saw sparks coming from the read drivers side of the truck. Truck was riding a bit low on that side. Pulled over and determined the tire had blown up. Currently doing the insurance claim and repair as there was substantial damage to the truck. No crash or involvement by other motorists. Did not hit anything.

Exterior lighting
Reports naming headlights, tail lights, turn signals and other exterior lighting.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the taillights, brake lights, and turn signals, all failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed that the rear lights had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact decided not to have the dealer repair the vehicle because the dealer stated that the repair was not covered by the vehicle manufacturer. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Terry Labonte Chevrolet (1401 Bridford Pkwy, Greensboro, NC 27407), who confirmed the failure and determined that the lights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being in stock. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed the repair was not covered under warranty or recall. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
This vehicle exhibits the same failure described in NHTSA Recall N232426400 — spontaneous unlatching after rain due to water intrusion into the exterior tailgate release switch. I’m requesting a goodwill replacement under GM bulletin # N232426400 as the failure mechanism and part are identical. It has caused brake failure and nearly killed me because of battery drain while driving. All American Chevrolet of Midland Texas is refusing to solve the problem and says no recall is available.

Steering
Reports naming the steering system — racks, columns, power-steering assist and steering linkage.
From owner reports, verbatim
Power steering randomly cuts out very random and intermittent. So far only done at low speeds but worried if turning in an intersection and i lose steering.
My truck wonders down the highway. It has been to the dealership well over 4 times. They have aligned the truck multiple times, changed the steering gear box, changed the power steering pump, changed tires and nothing fixes it. It takes constant adjusting of the steering to stay in my lane on any road. Quite pitiful for a $90,000 truck. It is currently at the dealership for the THIRD time in the past 7 days because they can’t get the truck to stop leaking fluids since changing the power steering pump. Excessive play in the steering and has been like that since day one that I left the lot. My wife can’t even drive the truck because she feels unsafe with how much play is in the steering. The dealership won’t do anything about it and is offering $20,000 less than I gave for the truck now that I can’t tolerate it anymore. But I refuse to lose that much money with only 13,000 miles on it. I just want a safe and reliable truck for my business and my family. Unfortunately that is not what GM has provided me with.

Interior & seats
Reports naming seats, latches, locks, linkages and interior fittings.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45–50 MPH in the rain, the tail gate opened unintendedly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that cargo in the bed of the truck fell out onto the roadway. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,900.
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the check engine malfunction and Electronic Stability Control system malfunction warning lights illuminated. The contact was inadvertently locked out of the vehicle and was unable to open the tailgate. The contact disconnected the battery to cancel the warning lights; however, the tailgate still failed to open. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

Suspension
Reports naming suspension components — springs, struts, shocks, control arms and related hardware.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact's husband stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started violently bouncing up and down. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure or diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

Visibility
Reports naming windshields, glass, wipers, defrosters and mirrors.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH and towing a 28-foot RV, the contact was unable to safely view the blind spot on the left and right sides of the RV using both side view mirrors. The contact stated that the failure had created a dangerous situation while changing lanes. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the side view mirrors performed as designed, and that there was no fix for the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

Other / unspecified
Reports whose component NHTSA recorded as unknown, or that do not map to one of the categories above.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2022 Safe Haven 12-foot Flatbed Trailer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH and towing the unloaded trailer with a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500, while slowing down to make a right turn, the trailer detached from the tow hitch ball. The contact stated that there were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the aluminum arms on the hitch adjoined to the frame of the trailer was loose. The contact stated that because of the design of the hitch, the receiver that rests on the trailer hitch was not flush, and there was room for the trailer receiver to move up and down, causing the bolts to loosen. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that it was the normal of the bolts. The trailer was taken to an authorized dealer, and the contact was informed that the trailer was attached incorrectly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200. The VIN was not available.

Transmission
Reports naming the automatic or manual transmission, including shifting behaviour, shudder, slipping and transmission control modules.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while his son was driving 60-62 MPH in tenth gear, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to seventh gear. There was an abnormally loud clunking sound coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the valve body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

Airbags
Reports naming the air-bag system — deployment behaviour, inflators, sensors and warning lights.
From owner reports, verbatim
Driving back to camper in the late evening and was listening to music and gps was on the screen when I was going approximately 32mph when headliner airbags on both sides went off causing me to hit my brakes and veer into the ditch. I was able to maintain pretty good control but did hit either a rock or stick or something that punctured my wheel sidewall. Unsure if a tree limb then got caught and tore off my bedcover that then left a small dent on the c column on the passenger side. I was able to put my truck in 4wd to get back fully into the roadway and walk about to see potential damage. At that time I only saw my tire was loosing air and bedcover was off aside from the airbag deployment. I slowly made my way home to assess further during complete daylight. I was not injured other than a cut on the hand due to the bedcover and a headache from the deployment. No hard hit or collision and truck did not make contact with tree trunk or any front end damage that would ordinarily come from someone going into the ditch. Reached out to a shop to have them check it out and see if they can see any reason why those airbags would have deployed without force then causing an incident
