The defect: Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain 2024-2026 FLTRX, FLHX, 2025-2026 FXBR, FLFB, 2025 FLHXU, 2026 FLTRXL, FLTRT, FLHXL, and FLHLT motorcycles built with an Airbox Baseplate (part number 29000373). The airbox backplate breather port may be blocked, allowing pressure to build up inside the crankcase.
The risk: When the dipstick is removed while the crankcase is pressurized, oil may eject from the fill spout, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect the breather port, and if the port is blocked, repair the blockage, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 14, 2026. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov April 16, 2025. The defect: Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain 2024 FLHX, FLHXSE, FLTRX, FLTRXSE, and FLTRXSTSE motorcycles. The voltage regulator output wire may rub on the front corner of the crankcase, exposing the wire and causing an electrical short circuit. A short can result in a loss of electrical power and drive power.
The risk: The unexpected loss of drive power and the loss of electrical power while in motion increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and as necessary, repair the voltage regulator output wire harness, and install a secondary retention strap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 23, 2024. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0186.

The contact owns a 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide FLHX. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the temperature warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and was turned off to cool down for approximately 20 minutes. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred after driving for approximately 15 minutes. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

The information center. All gauges speedometer tach etc will interment go black. Not turn on at time. Goes off all the time and have to disconnect the battery etc.

The motorcycle becomes unstable and has a "death wobble". I purchased the motorcycle new from a Harley Davidson dealer and all service has been perform by the same dealer. The death wobble occurs at various situations including highway speed turns and straight high speed (~75-80 mph). This has occurred during calm and windy days. There was not rain and pavement was dry at the time of the incidents. The motorcycle continues to exhibit the "death wobble" at a variety of conditions not mentioned above, it is hard to guess when it will occur. I took it to the Harley Davidson dealer at ~200 miles and ~1,100 miles. The dealer reported that they could not reproduce the "death wobble". The dealer performed a test drive, checked the neck bearing, tire pressure and inspected tires. The "wobble" is not just an annoyance it is a true critical safety issue. I have also noted a significant number of other owners of the same motorcycle model/year have reported the same concern listed above. I urge the NHTSA to give a high priority in review of this safety concern. I have left the "Additional Details" section of this report blank as it occurred multiple times with the most recent being 8/4/2025 and the first being mid-May 2025. Basically, since I have owned motorcycle since new.

Brakes are not working properly. There is a pulse when applying the brakes. The brakes do not squarely apply pressure. There is a shutter when applying brakes.

Harley redesigned their fairings on the 2024+ Street Glides, and have had issues with "death wobble" at higher speeds. When going down the Interstate at 80+ MPH, the bike has terrible front end wobble which you cannot accelerate or decelerate out of the wobble. You have to almost come to a complete stop before the death wobble goes away. I have taken the motorcycle to 2 different dealerships and neither one could duplicate the problem. These motorcycles are not safe at all! Harley needs to address this issue and come up with an actual fix for these issues.

Operating around New York City there’s a lot of potholes. Attempting to avoid potholes, I have hit a few and every time I may have hit one my bike feels as the tires are going to bust. The bike hits very hard.

The contact owns a 2024 Harley Davidson FLHX Street Glide Motorcycle. The contact stated while riding at approximately 65 MPH, the motorcycle became unstable, and the handlebars and front wheel started to vibrate violently. The motorcycle was taken to a local dealer where the tire pressure and torque converter was inspected; however, no cause for the failure was found. The motorcycle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
