WE WERE DRIVING OUR HOLIDAY RAMBLER AMBASSADOR 2012 36 FOOT DIESEL MOTORHOME ON A TRIP. AT THE END OF A DRIVING DAY, A WARNING LIGHT (REGEN) CAME ON. TRIED TO RUN A REGEN PER THE MANUAL, BUT CONDITIONS DID NOT ALLOW. THE NEXT DAY, STARTED FINE, NO WARNING LIGHT SO CONTINUED TO TRAVEL. AFTER LESS THEN A MILE, THE LIGHT CAME ON, THE ENGINE STOPPED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD TO BE TOWED OVER 50 MILES TO A REPAIR LOCATION. AFTER SOME TRIAL AND ERROR, FINALLY GOT A QUALIFIED DIESEL MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THE PROBLEM. HE REPLACED 3 DEFECTIVE PARTS; THE EGR VALVE, EMI VALVE AND KT VALVE (AFTER ONLY 28,000 PLUS MILES ON OUR INTERNATIONAL DIESEL ENGINE!) THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO PROPERLY RUN A REGENERATION AND WE WERE ONCE AGAIN ABLE TO TRAVEL. OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY WE PURCHASED OF COURSE CLEVERLY INCLUDED THE 'EMISSION COMPONENTS' IN THE EXCLUSION CATEGORY EVEN THOUGH WE WERE LEFT IN A VERY VULNERABLE SITUATION. WE THEN HAD TO HANDLE THE COMPLETE BILL FOR REPAIR AND A 4 DAY DELAY.

Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
