The air conditioning system on my 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid has failed due to a refrigerant leak. The symptoms began with a complete loss of cooling on the driver’s side while the passenger side remained cool. Eventually, the system failed to provide cool air to the entire cabin. This is a significant safety concern as the failure of the A/C system prevents the climate control from effectively dehumidifying the cabin air. During humid or rainy conditions, this leads to rapid windshield fogging that cannot be cleared by the defroster, severely impairing driver visibility. There are known service bulletins and warranty extensions for A/C components (condensers and compressor seals) on similar Honda models and years, yet my specific VIN is currently excluded despite exhibiting identical failure patterns. I am seeking a formal investigation to ensure this defect is addressed as a safety recall.

When sun is in front of car and low in the sky, windshield looks as if it is covered with dirt, to the point that I cannot see through it. I want to get it replaced asap, so it may or may not be available for inspection. When this happens, I cannot see anything in front of me: cars, people, the road. No. Yes, by a Honda dealer.

There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. NHTSA Recall 18V-629 This specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111 - Rear visibility. Due to a software error, the center display assembly that normally displays the rearview image may not provide the rearview image when the vehicle is reversing. Failure to display the rearview image may reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Based on my research the same software bug is affecting the earlier models as well As of today 5/3/2022 there is a youtube video titled "2013 2017 honda accord backup not working" 17,512 views Posted Dec 19, 2021 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omSIamlD2ok Due to the unique nature of this issue the view count of this video is significant. The only reason someone would find and view this video is because they also have this problem.

REAR BACK-UP CAMERA FAILED ON CAR WITH LESS THAN 28,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED WITH A HIGH REAR, SO UNLESS THE BACK-UP CAMERA IS WORKING, THERE'S BLIND SPOTS WHEN REVERSING THE CAR. FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER RARE DEEP FREEZE/ICE/MOISTURE EVENT IN LATE FEB 2021. WONDERING IF MOISTURE GOT INTO CAMERA SOMEHOW.

MY CAR WAS STATIONARY PARKED IN THE GARAGE. I WENT OUT TO GO TO WORK AND A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD RAN FROM THE RIGHT SIDE ACROSS AND DOWN THE WINDSHIELD. NO MARKS OF IMPACT AND NOTHING FELL ON IT IN THE GARAGE.IF YOU SEARCH ONLINE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH 2017-2020 HONDA ACCORDS. I THINK IT IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT CREATES STRESS ON THE EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS IF IT HAPPENED WHILE YOU'RE GOING AT A HIGH SPEED.

I HAVE A 2017 ACCORD - IN SEPTEMBER 2019 THE BACKUP CAMERA LCD SCREEN STARTED TO FLICKER FOR A WEEK OR SO EACH TIME I PUT THE CAR INTO REVERSE. WHEN I CHANGED THE CAMERA ANGLE IT WOULD SOMETIMES COME BACK AND WORK WHILE BACKING UP, BUT THEN IT WENT TO A BLACK SCREEN ALTOGETHER. IT'S BEEN BLACK EVER SINCE, THE CAMERA GOES ON WHILE I REVERSE BUT NOTHING SHOWS ON THE LCD SCREEN BUT THE GUIDING YELLOW LINES. I WENT TO FIX THE CAMERA TODAY MYSELF AND NOTICED THE RECALL OF THE 2018 ACCORDS. I THINK THE SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING WITH THE 2017 ACCORD. I'D LIKE TO SEE HONDA TAKE RESPONSIBILITY RATHER THAN HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER $200-$350 TO FIX THIS. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. HERE IS WHAT I FOUND THAT BROUGH ME TO THIS SITE. VEHICLES RECALLED: 232,140 OF THE 2018 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN AND 2019 HONDA INSIGHT HYBRID SEDAN. THE PROBLEM: THE BACKUP CAMERA MAY FAIL BECAUSE OF BAD SOFTWARE. THE FIX: DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE DISPLAY AUDIO UNIT SOFTWARE, AT NO CHARGE TO OWNERS. HOW TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER: THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN NOV. 5, 2018. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 888-234-2138. HONDA'S NUMBERS FOR THIS RECALL ARE K2G AND V2F. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V629

BLIND SPOT ASSIST CAMERA IS A DISTRACTION AND FLICKERS DUE TO OTHER VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT. HUGE DISTRACTION CAN BE DANGEROUS, NOT AN EFFECTIVE SAFETY FEATURE. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOESN'T CLOSE. EVEN AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW STARTS TO CLOSE AND HALF WAY REOPENS. ALL WINDOWS CLOSE NOTICEABLY SLOWER. DEALERSHIP CAN'T REPLICATE ISSUE SO NO REPAIR. STILL HAVE THE ISSUE, EVEN WHEN PARKED THE WINDOW DOESN'T CLOSE.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
