2020 Honda CR-V Seat belts Problems

The drivers front seatbelt latch has failed causing the driver to not be safely secured in the vehicle. This causes the airbag warning system to illuminate a warning indicator malfunction light on the dash display. The Honda dealership has refused to repair the item at Honda’s expense due to them stating the seatbelt latch is not on a recall list for my specific VIN although they did acknowledge that there is a problem with the seatbelt latches for that year model Honda CR-V.

There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V158000 (Seat Belts). The contact owns a 2020 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while her mom was driving 45 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The driver was able to pull to the side of the road. The driver turned off and restarted the vehicle several times, and the vehicle operated as needed. Additionally, the contact stated that the rear passenger's side seat belt had failed to retract. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Had my car inspected on Aug 5 everything was good and as I was driving down the road on Monday Aug 7 that afternoon and my airbag system (SRS) problem light came on we called the dealership on Tuesday morning and they said that we could drop it off and leave it on Wednesday and they would look at it when they got to it. So they called on Thursday and said it was u3000-49 internal failure of srs system also said found to be communication issue with the seat sensor which is made onto the frame and said the seat will have to be replaced If isn’t replaced and if I was to get in. Wreck the air bag or seat belt could not work properly and could result in someone getting hurt.

My seat belt has come undone many times in the last few months while I am driving. I reached out to the local dealership that repairs my car and inquired about it, they hadn't heard of a recall. 2-3 months later there has been a recall issued on my year and model of my car for this issue. I brought it in on May 24 to get it repaired and was told they couldn't repair it because there wasn't an actual recall on my car. Well later that day it has happened twice where my seatbelt came undone while I was driving.

RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2020 HONDA CRV. I NOTICED THE BACK SEAT BELTS (LEFT AND CENTER) CRISSCROSS WHEN BUCKLED. I WENT BACK TO HONDA TO COMPLAIN AND SAW THAT ALL HONDA CRV'S HAD THIS CONFIGURATION. I LOOKED UP ON A HONDA COMPLAINT WEB SITE AND FOUND THE THREE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. IT WAS ALSO A PROBLEM ON THE 2019 VEHICLES. IT APPEARS THAT WE ALL BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF YOU HAVE TO GET SOMEONE (POSSIBLY UNCONSCIOUS) OUT OF THE CAR THIS CONFIGURATION COULD PROVE TO BE A PROBLEM. HERE IS ONE EXAMPLE OF ANOTHER COMPLAINT: SEAT BELT PROBLEM #1 MY HUSBAND AND I WERE SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT OF OUR 2019 CR-V AND NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT INSERTS ON THE SEAT DIRECTLY BEHIND THE PASSENGER AND MIDDLE SEAT WERE IN THE WRONG POSITION. IN ORDER TO BUCKLE THE MIDDLE SEAT WE HAVE TO PULL DOWN THE STRAP FROM THE TOP AND CONNECT ONE BUCKLE DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE SEAT BELT INSERT FOR THE LEFT PASSENGER SEAT BELT. SO WHEN WE TRY BUCKLING BOTH THE MIDDLE SEAT AND THE REAR LEFT PASSENGER SEAT BELT THEY ARE TWISTED AROUND ONE ANOTHER, MAKING IT UNSAFE TO TRAVEL WITH THREE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK AT A TIME. WE HAVE GONE BACK TO HONDA IN ORDER TO GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED BUT WERE UNABLE TO DUE TO THE FACT THAT ALL OF THE 2019 CR-V MODELS WERE LIKE THAT. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WE OFTEN NEED TO TRAVEL WITH THREE PEOPLE IN THE BACK SEAT AND THIS IS TRULY AN INCONVENIENCE FOR US, ON TOP OF IT SIMPLY NOT BEING SAFE. WE DIDN'T THINK WE'D HAVE TO CHECK THE BACK SEAT SEATBELTS WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, WE'VE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS IN ANY OF OUR PREVIOUS CARS.
