On 7/22/26 at about 5:15pm, I was operating my vehicle, a 2022 Hyundai Palisade in the Parking lot of Publix Supermarket at Valrico Commons and was attempting to enter a parking space. I made a right from the parking thruway to enter a right parking space. I felt one of the right wheels graze the pedestrian sidewalk as I was driving about 5 miles per hour, next thing the vehicle lunged forward out of control and though I tried applying the brakes, the brakes would not respond. As a result, my vehicle ending up hitting a parking pole, which resulted in two vehicles parked opposite to me being hit by the pole. There was no one in the parked vehicles.

I own a 2022 Hyundai Palisade SEL. On XXX, while driving at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in [XXX], the engine abruptly lost power, causing a sudden loss of engine power while the vehicle was in motion. This is my family's primary vehicle, and my wife and children were in the car during this incident. On XXX, I brought the vehicle to Courtesy Hyundai in [XXX]. The dealer found essentially no oil in the engine despite my keeping up with scheduled oil changes. The dealer replaced the oil and performed a software update described on the repair order as "9C9 C ECU SW UPDATE EMISSIONS IMPRV 26-01-010H," and I was instructed to return after 1,000 miles for an oil-level recheck. At that recheck, the dealer's service assistant reported the oil was full. On XXX, before a planned family road trip, I returned the vehicle for another check. The service department found the engine was two quarts low — this was only 4,000 miles after the oil service on April 10, 2026. The dealer stated they requested an oil consumption test but that Hyundai denied the request. Per the dealer's instructions, I returned again after another 1,000 miles, and the engine was one quart low. I am filing this complaint because I believe the excessive oil consumption and the resulting loss of engine power represent a safety defect that has not been remedied. An engine that abruptly loses power while driving creates a serious hazard, including loss of power steering and reduced braking assist, and I am concerned for my family's safety while this condition remains unresolved. Randomly but frequently, my car would turn off when coming to a stop and with the auto shut off - but the full car would turn off and to move, I would need to press the ignition to turn back on and drive. This even occurred while accelerating onto a highway. I took this to the shop and after 6 months of back and forth and paying for fuel injectors they 'repaired' it. Now, my car felt heavy with the auto turn off but the vehicle stayed on. The next day, while trying to accelerate up a hill on a highway, the RPM would rev but the car would not shift and accelerate. Additionally, I am getting 'parking sensor error or blockage' but they lines and sensors are all working.

1) Front collision sign keep coming up. 2) Cruise control does not function. Dealer claims it's wear and tear and maybe due to bumper loose. Claims maybe if someone backed up into our bumper making it loose. 3) Display on the front windshield is distorted, which is also camera related. 4) Paint on fender is peeling and they call that also wear and tear. Picture attached showing paint coming off Overall Hyundai palisade claims nothing is part of warranty. Everything they are claiming as wear and tear. It's not even 5 years since I bought this car and nothing is covered under warranty.

The system that has the issue is the emergency braking system. The brakes of the car have engaged automatically at highway speeds more than 5 times. This has put the safety of the individuals in my car at risk as well as the cars around me because the cars behind me then got way to close because of my vehicle breaking. It is also very jarring for the driver and could make the driver make the driver swerve thinking there is someone getting too close. The emergency braking lights flash on the dash when this happens. I am waiting to get an appointment with the dealer.

The forward safety breaking in this model is going to kill someone, hopefully not me as I am careful to manually disable it every time I start the car. Otherwise it applies the breaks at dangerous moments. Most often it happens when trees overhang the road, sometimes it is overhead road signs. I am not always sure what the cause is but having my breaks applied hard in the middle of merging multi lane highways is most definitively dangerous. I understand that on the 2023 model this can be permanently disabled so I suspect Hyundai is well aware of the problem. This problem has occurred to me at least a dozen times, and as I said I try to be very careful to disable it everyone I start the car.

The steering wheel on the vehicle would immediately rotate about 10 degrees to the right after starting the vehicle. The steering wheel would then remain in this cocked right position. When driving, the car would pull very hard to the right when letting go of the steering wheel, even following an alignment. This also resulted in the steering wheel being very difficult to turn to the left vs the right. Additionally, this would cause the vehicle to track dangerously close to the right lane lines on the highway when using the lane keep assist feature and forced the driver to consistently pull the steering wheel to the left to track the vehicle straight. I took it to an independent service center for alignment which didn’t correct the issue. I then took it to my local Hyundai dealership for rectification. They recalibrated the steering angle sensor and torque sensor. This corrected the cocked right position of the steering wheel. It improved but did not fully get rid of the right pull and difficulty in turning the steering wheel to the left. I was forced to pay $195 for the steering calibration on a certified pre owned vehicle with just over 10,000 miles on it.

The blind spot view monitor (which displays the blind spot view from the side camera in the cluster when operating the turn signal control) malfunctioned. I rely on this safety feature when changing lanes as an extra precaution, and having the blind spot view suddenly not display when its settings are turned on poses a safety risk. This problem persisted for roughly 24 hours on the date stated. I parked the car, turned it off and on several times, toggled the setting for it on and off but that did not resolve the issue. The vehicle did not have any warning indicting the blind spot view was not functioning properly and there were no other issues present. Oddly, the next evening, after being parked overnight, the blind spot view monitor was back to its proper display. Luckily, I captured a video of the issue which also shows that settings for the blind spot view monitor were on but that it would not display properly. Unfortunately, the dealer was unable to reproduce the problem, but they only drove it for a total of 12 miles in their possession. I'm uncertain what inspection or trouble-shooting they did. I'm reporting this issue since other Palisade owners have also experienced a similar intermittent problem with their blind spot view monitors. They also said it abruptly just starting working again, similar to what I experienced.

This vehicle is equipped with a forward collision alert system, which did not activate and warn me. As a result a traffic accident occurred where I rear-ended a vehicle in front of me. Vehicle sustained 8000 dollars in damages and is currently being repaired. There were no visible notifications, no alarms of any kind prior to impact. Component was not inspected by the manufacturer. In this scenario, a vehicle in front was stopped at a stop sign, started proceeding forward, I followed, but did not notice them stop again, resulting in a rear-end collision. I was traveling under 25mph (which should be sufficient for the system to work), however as stated before, no alerts were activated.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving 45-65 MPH with the cruise control activated, the Lane Keep Assist and Highway Drive Assist features were inoperable, causing the vehicle to fail to decelerate while turning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no error codes were retrieved. The vehicle was then taken to Ontario Hyundai (1307 Kettering Dr Unit A, Ontario, CA 91761) where it was determined that the after-market rims and tires on the vehicle caused the failure. The contact was advised to take the vehicle back to the original dealer to have the rims and tires replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they might buy back the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 150.

Was (thankfully) driving on a completely straight 2 lane highway when the collision avoidance system gave an error message to check it. My steering wheel became completely immobilized and couldn't be turned in either direction more than an inch or so. I eventually pulled off to the side of the road and restarted the car, which fixed the problem. I have since set the Memory settings for drivers 1 and 2 to omit using all of the lane minder/collision avoidance features in the hope that if they are just off entirely, the system won't malfunction and cause a wreck. Don't know what I would have done if we were on a curvy road with no breakdown lane nearby or if we were on the interstate.

Vehicle sped up/kept going towards the traffic ahead while on adaptive cruise control. Vehicle also started showing “radar disabled” warnings & has continued intermittently (on a daily basis) for about the past 3 weeks. The “forward collision avoidance disabled” warnings keep popping up even while NOT on cruise control. Nothing physical is blocking the radar. The on-board computer does NOT record any errors & the dealership claims they can’t see the error (apparently the computer doesn’t record/store the errors). I have pictures & videos of the errors & reported to the manufacturer.

The car pulls to the right and it is hard to steer left. At speeds higher than 50mph the steering wheels vibrates when turning left to correct the veering. The Lane Departure and Lane Keeping Assist to not operate correctly because the car veers to the right. I have had the car serviced twice within one week of purchasing and there is no fix from the dealer nor Hyundai. This issue was apparent within minutes of first driving the car, there are no warning lights. The alignment is out of spec but cannot be corrected by the dealer. The cause is reported as an issue with the steering angle sensor.
