Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I have a eye condition called Strabismus/ lazy eye that I've had for most of my life. I've learned to live with it quite well. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, roughly 4% of the U.S. adult population has Strabismus.. My previous vehicle (Genesis G70) had the Lane Keep feature that I used all the time. Now when I drive my new 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybred on the highway with cruise control, I can't use "Lane Keep Assist" (on the steering wheel) because within a few seconds it will give WARNING-EYES ON THE ROAD, BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL then go into emergency stop while I am staring straight ahead and have both hands on the wheel. - - Also, if I am driving on a Interstate highway, the Lane Keep Assist comes on automatically as soon as I engage Cruise control, I have to turn off Lane Keep or within a few seconds, the emergency shutdown begins. I have to turn it off every time I re-engage Cruise control. The first time this happened I was driving in heavy traffic on I-20 outside of [XXX]. I had to maneuver thru 2 lanes of traffic before the vehicle completely stopped. I continued on without cruise control until I arrived home. After several tests it was decided that it was my eyes. I had the Hyundai service investigate but had no fix for the issue. The Lane Keep feature was always on in my 2019 Genesis G70 which was a nice feature and now with my new Tucson, I can't use it. I'm going backward with my safety features on vehicles. There must be some way to modify this to accommodate my condition and get back to the level of vehicle safety that I once had without trading down to a older vehicle. - - Hyundai case file XXX. All updates have been completed. - - STOP/CANCEL THE IN-CAB CAMERA MANDATE UNTIL ALL THE BUGS ARE FIXED - - INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The car detects phantom blind spot alerts even after the camera update. It happens based on front and rear cameras. When the car falsely alerts it fully locks up the breaks and steering until the fault clears. It happened yesterday trying to pull out of a street side parking space. There were no oncoming cars, but the car fully alerted and locked up. It happened in rush hour traffic when trying to pull to the side for an emergency vehicle alerting and causing the car to fully lock up and delay moving aside for an emergency vehicle, and it happened trying to pull into a parking lot in a line of other vehicles also pulling into the lot (school pickup line). Every time it does this it fully alerts and locks up brakes and steering. There's no predicting when it will happen.

I was driving on Hwy 41 in Lutz, Fl in middle lane (out of 3 lanes) at around 50 miles per hour, then suddenly a warning came up on my infotainment consule that noted that my driver assistance system was not functional. My car then slowed down to 20 mph and would not accelerate. The line of cars going fast behind me started to honk at me. I had to put on my hazards and slowly get into far right lane and eventually pull over. I then came to a stop and turned my engine off. I was able to get back on US Hwy 41 and the error did not happen again and I was able to get to work (albeit, 5 minutes late)

While i was driving 65 MPH on the highway with several car length ahead of me I gently tried slowing down and the car jammed on the brakes forcefully causing my husband and I to be jolted forward and seatbelts locked. Thankfully, the person behind me did not hit me. This is a recall that was supposedly fixed by Hyundai dealer on 7/6/2026 a front view camera update however this incident happened on July 17, 2026. I brought to Circle Hyundai ,Shrewsbury on July 27 and they said codes are fine and could not replicate the issue.

I have had this occur in my Hyundai and a 2026 Santa Fe lower trim model that is not hybrid. The forward attention monitor repeats that I am not looking at the road. I have a condition where my eyes have been filling with tears. I am usually able to stop it by moving my head or looking down at the camera. (which takes my eyes off the road) Many times it enters into advanced warning and twice the car started to come to a stop in lane on the interstate highway. I feel this newer attention system is too sensitive. I did not have this issue with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson. I feel the sudden braking on the interstate will lead to an accident. It happens less frequently if I turn off the cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. I have had the vehicle at the dealer twice for recalls. I asked them to check the forward attention system and they report it is working fine. The fact that it happened in a second Hyundai and a different model leads me to think it is not just my car.

We are getting intermittent failures with screen going dark and/or warning lights flashing. This has happened on multiple occasions with the car while driving. We first brought into Preston Hyundai in Millsboro DE June 27 for this problem. There were some standard recalls (unrelated) but they hoped those recalls would fix the problem. They did not. We brought it back July 19 and remained in the shop until July 23. Spoke with Service Mgr Brad Atkins multiple times. He could not replicate, but has other customers with same concern and engaged Hyundai Field Services on this. They are still trying to figure this out and we took car back as they don't have loaner yet. They are hopeful to give us a loaner next week. So we have had two attempts to resolve unsuccessfly to date.

My vehicle's instrument cluster has failed, leaving me without a functioning speedometer, fuel gauge, or other critical displays. I believe this makes the vehicle unsafe to operate. I will also not pass Massachusetts state inspection. My local Hyundai dealerships told me the earliest repair appointment is about one- two months away. They also refused to provide a loaner vehicle or authorize a rental billing, leaving me with no safe transportation while waiting for a safety recall repair.

I own a 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited AWD with approximately 15,000 miles. While driving, I heard a loud, sudden noise and then discovered that the glass panel above the windshield, below the moonroof, had shattered/damaged. The incident occurred at a slight bump in the road, but not a pothole. I did not observe any large road debris, object, or vehicle ahead of me that appeared to cause an impact, and I saw no obvious evidence of a specific impact event. The damaged area allows water to enter the vehicle, making it unsafe and impractical to drive in rain or other inclement weather. There is also concern about loose glass debris. The dealership and Hyundai denied warranty coverage, stating the damage was impact-related. An independent automotive glass shop inspected the vehicle and provided a written assessment stating that the damage cannot be conclusively attributed to a rock or other road impact and could be consistent with a manufacturing defect. The vehicle has been inspected by both the dealer/manufacturer and an independent glass service provider. Hyundai corporate has also been contacted, and a corporate case manager was involved. There were no warning lamps or warning messages before the failure. The first symptom was the sudden loud noise while driving, followed by discovery of the damage to the glass panel above the windshield.

Two days after buying the car while on a trip to [XXX], while driving 70 miles per hour on an interstate using cruise control, the car quickly breaked and our speed went down to about 40. Scared us to death. We pulled off the side of the road to regroup and understand what just happened. We didn't understand and continued and stopped using cruise. We found a Hyundai dealer in [XXX] and went to ask them if they could help. It was a salesman who first quizzed us about where we brought the car, why we didn't buy from them, and pointed to the cruise control button and told us to take it back to the dealer We purchased it from. We just went on our way. Since that time, this car has braked suddendly, on it's own at least 12 or 14 times. It doesn't just brake, it stops. We have almost been hit numerous times, the seat belt has kept me from hitting the steering wheel, dash or windshield several times during this sudden breaking. I took the car in fir the recall that was supposed to fix this problem. It has not. Twice last week it decided to brake twice, once putting us in a serious position on the roadway while making a left turn. I took it back today and explained the situation. After they had it a couple of hours, they told me nothing was wrong with it. I am afraid to drive it and I know what is happening on an irregular basis. The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while starting vehicle, the instrument panel displayed a blank screen. The contact received notification of NTHSA Campaign Number: 26V400000 (Electrical System); and associated the failure with the recall; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the dealer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

My vehicle is subject to the Hyundai Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) safety recall (NHTSA Campaign 26V316 / Hyundai Recall 302). The front camera software logic is overly sensitive, creating an imminent danger of unexpected, severe, and sudden automatic braking at high speeds. This manufacturing defect poses a catastrophic safety hazard to myself, my family, and other motorists on the highway. I consider the vehicle completely unroadworthy and unsafe to drive. Despite the severe risk to human life, Hyundai Motor Finance is refusing to allow a fee-waived early lease termination, attempting to financially penalize me for refusing to drive an inherently dangerous vehicle that they manufactured. I am filing this complaint to document the severe hazard of the defect and Hyundai's failure to provide a safe, penalty-free resolution for a life-threatening vehicle glitch

On June 30, 2026, at approximately 8:45 AM, I was driving my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on the freeway with cruise control set at 74 mph. While driving, the vehicle displayed a message that cruise control had been disabled. As the vehicle began slowing down, I pressed the accelerator pedal, but the gas pedal did not respond. I had to carefully move over to the right as the vehicle continued slowing, then pull over to the side of the road. Fortunately, there was a safe place available for me to pull over. After stopping, I turned off the engine, waited approximately one minute, then restarted the vehicle. After restarting, the vehicle operated normally again. I contacted Hyundai. They stated there was no specific update for this exact issue, but they did advise that there was an update for the steering cluster. I have completed that update.

Backup camera is intermittent. This puts persons behind me in danger of accidental back-over. The vehicle has been reproduced and seen and confirmed by the dealer's Service Mgr. The vehicle has been turned in to the servicing Hyundai dealer on 4 occasions and they have failed each time to repair the issue. The system has been intermittent over for 5 repair attempts and a period of 5 months. It has been at an authorized Hyundai dealer for repairs for a total of over 60 days. There is no warning as to when this will occur other than the screen turns either green or blue when placed in reverse with the following: Check surrounding for your safety. No camera signal received. Please try again later."

I was driving using adaptive cruise control, and my entire instrument cluster went blank. Everything, I couldn't see my speed, if cruise control was on, the HUD display everything went dark then came back on in about 10-15 seconds. This was very concerning. I had no way to know if the safety systems like adaptive cruise control, forward crash section etc were still working. Lost my GPS directions, couldn't tell my speed This was extremely dangerous. This needs to be fixed asap.
