2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Driver assistance Problems

My son’s car drifted to the right past the white line and he ended up hitting a hydrant and continued at least 100 ft before stopping. Our dash cam showed a slow smooth drift to the right without any lane assist being activated to pull the car back. All safety features were activated and turned on the day we bought the car for him. It was the main reason we chose this model. He is very lucky to be alive. After the impact, the car just barely missed a business sign, a telephone pole and a tree. The car was declared totaled. Unfortunately, the total amount the insurance is offering is about 4k short of what we still owe. Words cannot express how lucky we are that our son is okay, but we are very angry that the features we bought the car for, failed him.

I was driving north on I64, and a car in front of me suddenly stopped. Cruise control was on, but when i applied the brake, my car did not stopped, and cruise control speed up, before decreasing speed. Instead of turning off, and allowing the car to slow down. I had to swerve, causing to go off on the side of the highway, and held my foot on the brake for almost a mile, along the side of the highway, before the car came to a stop

When the cruise control is activated and the set(+) button to accelerate the car continues to accelerate after the button is released. The vehicle will accelerate to 100mph or higher. I have to deactivate the cruise control to get it to stop accelerating. The vehicle is available for inspection. +Unsafe to use cruise control for fear of excessive speed. I have taken to dealer, they say it is not covered under warranty. No other inspections have been performed. There are no warning messages or other symptoms indicating a failure. The problem first appeared when I purchased the vehicle in June of 2024.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling abnormally fast. Additionally, the contact stated that upon releasing the brake pedal, while the vehicle was in drive(D), the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated while driving 25-35 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to make a turn, the vehicle failed to decelerate as needed, causing the contact to pass the turn and almost caused a crash. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned around. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the Nissan dealer where it was purchased, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Chrysler dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. Was pulling into a parking spot on the 2nd level of parking garage and the Jeep accelerated and hit the cement wall at front of garage space. It accelerated on its own. The front of the jeep was crushed, and I ended up with a fractured sternum and a seat belt hernia which I will have surgery in the next couple of weeks. The airbags did not deploy. And I did not press on the gas pulling into the parking spot --- it just accelerated on its own. When I first got in the car the system showed that systems disabled, but the then the message went away. When I pressed seat one, it did not go in place and I had to adjust it on my own. I continued on to my dermitologist appointment , pulled into the the parking space and the instant brake when too close did not break and the air bags did not deploy. Thru me into the cement wall, and the whole front of the car was demolished, Not epairable.

Vehicle shifts from park to drive jumping gears ,making loud noises, Accelerating by its self and jumps aggressively into gear. Transmission is slipping, late engagement when shifting, and shifting rough. sometimes it will low rpm. Rpm is going up and down. Making total transmission failure and transfer case failure. Melting the hot and cold lines. Mechanic found aluminum melted and oil burn. Rpms fluctuate and gets hung up during shifting while driving.

Software update was pushed on or around 11/22/2024. After update front collision system warning light on dash. Doors fail to auto lock when driving off. Options to toggle front pedestrian breaking now missing that would turn off the light. Jeep Facebook groups show multiple people with same year having the same problem after software update FCA-MY24.U29.42-PROD

on mopar recall service done shows it had been serviced and bunch of lies i have never taken my 2021 jeep to get serviced for power steering issue. barely came out 1 week ago and crazy service man at BOGGUS TIPTON JEEP in Brownsville texas named Josh, white male wanted to charge 4500 dollars to repair knowing supposibly there was an issue recall and i declined so wanted to charge me 2500 after i declined. he was more than likely gonna charge chrysler and me both ways to make the dealership double the money for a bull**** fix. my jeep has never been in service for the power steering recall. after readings previous comments i think chrysler is lying that the fixed and issue on many customers of recalls. [please check your vin and put a complaint and call chrysler like i am tomorrow and will get an attorney involved for a false fix and claim

For my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Antilock braking system, Hydraulic control unit has failed. It is currently being repaired by the dealership, and I will request the old part so that it is available for inspection. The failure of the ABS control unit, disabled the electronic stability control, the forward collision warning system and the cruise control - and the issue appears to be directly equivalent to the current Stellantis recall for Ram 1500's of a similar year. The dealer was able to reproduce the error - and was inspected at a Jeep dealership.

Frequently all lights go on while driving check engine goes on here and there on the highway. Loud noise when you start the car and continues for about 2 min after the car is turned off as well.. All lights went on and was unable To move the vehicle in the middle of a street. I have taken the vehicle in several times to 2 different dealers and I am told there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a danger to my family and I for the car to continue to do these things as the car is unable to be moved..

The electronic stability control has malfunctioned and the 4wd svc light has comeon. The vehicle shifts hard when taking off at low speed. When coming to a stop there is a loud pop from transfer case. Also the 4wd low and neutral comes on by themselves. This vehicle definitely has safety issues. I just bought this vehicle and just barely have 1000 miles on it. How is thus safe? The hard shifting started around 6/1/2024 the electronic stability, svc 4wd, going into 4wd low and neutral all started on 6/23/24

The contact stated that the warning light illuminated and remained illuminated without any vehicles being nearby. Additionally, the light remained illuminated and failed to deactivate. I was driving on a road when the car suddenly accelerated for no apparent reason. I hit the brake and nothing happened. When the car accelerated, it was like when you hit resume when you have cruise control on. I did not have cruise control on. To avoid hitting a vehicle in front of me, I went off the road to the right, hit a chain link fence and stopped in a field. The car was declared a total loss by the insurance company. Earlier that day, the car was giving me a warning to brake, when I was not near another vehicle. On other occasions before this, the car would tell me to put my hands on the steering wheel when I was gripping the steering wheel.

In 2022 I attempted to back into a parallel parking space and the emergency braking system kept activating to prevent backing up. Attempted getting corrected at dealer but no trouble codes available. Was driving, slowing down to stop at about 22mph, emergency braking system kicked in, shifted into auto stick, switched back reactivated normal drive. Six months later, was at a stop sign, on green light, turned left from left lane, accelerating to approximately 25mph, suddenly emergency braking activated again, again had to use auto stick to kick out of emergency braking. On many occasions, warning lights come on for no reason. The dealer has "updated" software, but to no avail.. Collision warning, stop/start error, throttle body error and more. On the last event we were driving uphill, approx 25 mph, nobody in front of us, and the brakes slammed on with multiple errors showing.. the car then lurched forward with active breaking, stop start error, throttle body sensor all showing up and going away. This happened 4 times on the evening of Sep 15th. The errors and random and intermittent.. They replaced a "secondary" battery at one point, and that did nothing. They told us we needed to drive it for over 100 miles, to charge the battery, but it did not fix the stop/start or any other error. Now it is in the Cerritos dodge dealer and we have a formal complaint filed with Chrystler.. The dealer states they can't find any problems.. During most of the events, the errors and warning lights do not stay on longer than a few seconds. I have one picture I was able to take when the warning lights stayed on a little longer.

While driving 70mph on highway, all lights on dash illuminated, lane assist malfunctioned, wipers went on, blinkers stopped working, vehicle lost speed quickly. Was able to move it off the road, but stopped running before being completely on shoulder. Vehicle would not turn on again in any capacity and hazard warning lights would not function. Needed to have vehicle towed, awaiting final report on issues. No warning was given before this malfunction occured.
