2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Powertrain (other) Problems

My vehicle is affected by Safety Recall D126 / 26V-248. The vehicle has already experienced the recall failure: loss of charging, stalling while driving, and now it will not crank at all. The dealership is refusing towing, refusing to document the safety failure, and refusing Transportation. Corporate has also refused assistance. I am left without a vehicle and unable to work. This is an unsafe condition and a violation of federal recall obligations.

On 4/26/2026 My vehicle experienced hybrid system failure, electrical failure, charging system failure, loss of drive power, electrical shutdown, and loss of exterior lighting at a busy intersection, while at a red light. My vehicle had to be towed and was confirmed by the Range Rover dealership as a DC-DC converter failure. My 73 yr old mother and I had to get out and direct traffic for over two hours, to keep my vehicle from getting hit or us being seriously injured, until a wrecker arrived. I had previously took my vehicle to two dealerships, when I had a light to come on. They told me to keep driving until they researched the problem and that my vehicle would not leave me on side of the road. Approximately 2 weeks later is when it displayed another warning light, right before shutting off completely on the above date and having me stopped, not on the side of the road, but worse, at a red light busy intersection off a highway ramp. I found out by the dealership that my vehicle issue is part of an active DC/DC converter recall. My husband and I had to pay for the costly repairs, towing and have been out of a vehicle, with no loaner for over a month. I am requesting a "recall reimbursement”,“goodwill reimbursement” and “pre-remedy reimbursement eligibility."

A fire started under the hood roughly 15 minutes after we drove it and parked it. Smoke could be seen 1st, then the fire. Not sure what starter the fire. The vehicle was parked 3 ft from my house, which could’ve caught my house on fire, luckily it wasn’t parked in my garage. The incident has not been yet reproduced or confirmed by an independent service center, manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure

Car stopped suddenly without warning while driving on interstate on 2 occasions. Vehicle had 16K miles and was serviced by dealer as required. After weeks of investigation, it was determined that the water pump was defective. Took 15 minutes to restart the vehicle while sitting on side of highway.

While driving on [XXX] on [XXX] from Burlington VT airport to Barre VT, the vehicle suddenly slowed and did not respond to the gas pedal. This was at about 5 pm. Managed to get the vehicle to the small curb but was partly in the right lane of highway. Many cars veered around us. Felt could easily have been hit from behind. Vehicle finally started after several tries and got it to a larger curb area. No warning lights came one before the stall, until just beforehand. Flashing lights then briefly lighted. Got vehicle towed to a repair shop that only kept it for several days and restarted several times. Then, had it towed to a Land Rover dealer in Bedford, NH, where it has been now for several days. They drove it and the problem recurred. Still no word on what happened. The vehicle has 26,000 miles and was purchased new in May of 2020. All required service was done by Land Rover dealers. The contact owns a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then attempted to shift to park(P); however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that on another occasion, while at a traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

My 2019-2020 Evoque is stalling when coming to a stop? This seems to happen at completely random intervals regardless of whether the auto start/stop is on or off. When the car stalls "Select Gear to Manuever" is displayed for about one second on the dash and the "D" flashes with a beeping tone. This has happened to over 20 times in less than 1000 miles! The ignition must be turned off and the car restarted in order to move again. I have seen Land Rover Forums describing a very similar issue. I have taken the vehicle in twice for repairs with no improvement.

SINCE PAST FEW MONTHS I AM EXPERIENCING FREQUENT STALLING IN MY CAR. WHEN CAR IS AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AND SOMETIMES DURING TURNING AT THE CORNER, IT JUST STOPS RESPONDING TO PEDDLE AND I HAVE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND SELECT GEAR AGAIN TO MOVE IT. DURING THE RECENT SNOWSTORMS, IT ONCE STALED AND STARTED SLIDING BACKWARDS AS ENGINE STALLED AND TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING ON TRACTION. I HAD TO QUICKLY RESTART THE ENGINE AND REGAIN THE CONTROL TO GET AWAY WITH THIS SITUATION. I THINK THIS SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS ON THE ROAD AND COULD LEAD TO FATAL ACCIDENT SOME DAY. I AM PUTTING ROUGH DATE OF 1ST MARCH AS I DO NOT KNOW WHEN WAS IT STARTED EXACTLY BUT ITS BEEN COUPLE OF MONTHS I AM HAVING THIS ISSUE.
