The defect: MONACO IS RECALLING 1,733 MY 2006-2007 DIPLOMAT AND HOLIDAY RAMBLER ENDEAVOR MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH WIPER SYSTEMS SUPPLIED BY AM EQUIPMENT. THE DRIVE MOTOR LINK BECOMES DISENGAGED DURING OPERATION FROM THE WIPER DRIVE ARM WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE DRIVE ARM CAUSING THE WIPER SYSTEM TO FAIL.
The risk: WHEN THE WIPER SYSTEM FAILS, THE OPERATOR WILL HAVE REDUCED VISIBILITY WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
The remedy: MONACO WILL REPLACE THE COMPLETE UNDER-THE-HOOD WIPER SYSTEM WITH A NEW MODEL, REUSING THE WIPER ARM AND BLADES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 11, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

The defect: ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH ATWOOD SEALED BURNER RANGES, THE RANGE AND SLIDE-IN BURNER TUBES LEADING FROM THE GAS MANIFOLD TO THE BURNER HEADS HAD A DEPRESSION OR 'KINK' IN THE EXTERIOR BEND RESTRICTING PROPER AIRFLOW AND GAS MIXTURE.
The risk: THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.
The remedy: MONACO IS WORKING WITH ATWOOD TO HAVE THE TUBES REPLACED ON THESE RANGES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 14, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ATWOOD AT 1-800-348-7418 OR MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

The defect: ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT WITH CUMMINS ISL CM850 DIESEL ENGINES, THE CONNECTING ROD CONTAINS A MACHINING DEFECT IN THE WRIST PIN BUSHING OF THE ROD THAT COULD CAUSE A SEIZURE OF THE PISTON PIN.
The risk: IF ALLOWED TO PROGRESS, THIS CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FAILURE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ROD RUPTURING THE LOCK CAVITY, OIL AND DEBRIS ON THE ROADWAY AND VEHICLE CRASH.
The remedy: MONACO IS WORKING WITH CUMMINS TO RECALIBRATE THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND ENHANCE THE ENGINE PROTECTION SYSTEM ENABLING IT TO PROVIDE EARLY DETECTION OF THE FAILURE MODE AND AVOID MORE SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE AND RESULTANT SAFETY HAZARD. CUMMINS WILL ALSO INSTALL A NEW VALVE COVER WITH A CRANKCASE PRESSURE SENSOR FREE OF CHARGE (PLEASE SEE 07E033). OWNERS MAY CONTACT CUMMINS AT 800-343-7357 OR MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

MONACO RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 08V070000 MONACO FILE R08005 AM EQUIPMENT WIPER SYSTEM RECALL. *TR I HAD THE RECALL REPAIRS DONE AT LIGHTNIN RV IN LAWRENCEVILLE GA 770-963-9889 THE REPAIRS WERE DONE 2ND WEEK IN APRIL. SINCE I HAVE BEEN ON A TRIP AND THE NEW PARTS FROM AM EQUIPMENT HAVE FAILED, THE WIPERS BECOME DISCONNECTED FROM THE DRIVE MOTOR. THE SAME EXACT WAY THEY DID BEFORE THE RECALL REPAIRS. MY MOTOR HOME HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR GOING ON 2 WEEKS WAITING FOR DIRECTION FROM AM EQUIPMENT TO LIGHTNIN RV. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM AS MY MOTOR HOME WEIGHS 43,000LB AND IF YOU CANT SEE IN AN UNEXPECTED RAIN STORM MY SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHERS IN MY PATH ARE IN DANGER DUE TO IMPAIRED VISION. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN HELP
