WHILE DRIVING DURING A RAIN STORM, ON I90 IN ILLINOIS, WITH A STRONG CROSS WIND THE DRIVER'S WIPER WAS BLOWN TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND BECAME STUCK LEAVING ME WITH VERY LIMITED VISIBILITY. ONCE THIS HAPPENS THE WIPER ARM MUST BE REPLACED. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWO MORE TIMES.

EQUIPMENT
If the coach's HWH leveling system has intermittent issues when operating, check for corrosion or loose mounting bolts. Torque the mounting bolts (if needed) to 30 ft. pounds. A ground cable may also be installed to improve the overall grounding of the HWH pump assembly.
AIR BAGS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE
Daimler Trucks North America has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes built on Freightliner chassis (NHTSA# 17V 451). In response, Newmar has filed recall NHTSA# 17V 497 and TC# 2017-389. Issue: On certain motorhomes built on Freightliner XCR chassis, a battery cable mounting bracket may not have been installed at the plant per installation drawings. If improperly routed and clipped, the battery cable may be in close proximity to the frame rail. This may cause rubbing or shorting of the cable and may increase the risk of a fire.

Mailing second notice on not corrected customer letters on NHTSA Recall: Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motor homes. Issue: Certain motorhomes may have a defective refrigerator travel latch that may activate without the user?s knowledge when the doors are closed. If the latch locks the door shut, the refrigerator cannot be opened from the inside. This could potentially cause entrapment/injury to an individual. This only applies to French door style refrigerators with a specific travel latch. Attached is a list of specific coaches affected.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES
Mailing second notice on not corrected customer letters on NHTSA Recall: Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motor homes. NHTSA# 15V 803, TC# 2015- 562 Issue: On certain motorhomes, the cargo door lock actuator on the baggage doors could overheat due to a faulty keyless entry module configuration. If operated with a battery voltage below 9.5 VDC, the actuator could chatter, overheat and melt along with a portion of the inner door material which would increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.
SUSPENSION
Spartan Motors USA, Inc. has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motor homes built on Spartan chassis. In response, Newmar Corporation is publishing the following recall: NHTSA #17V 195 TC #2017-162. Issue: On certain motorhomes, the ball joints on the independent front suspension may be loose. If not detected, the loose ball joints could separate over time. This could affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.
SERVICE BRAKES
NEWMAR CORPORATION HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN SPECIFIC MOTORHOMES. THIS RECALL IS THE RESULT OF INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA LLC. NHTSA#16V 252, TC#2016-205 ON CERTAIN FREIGHTLINER BRAND MOTORHOME CHASSIS BUILT WITH A HEAVIER ADJUSTABLE FOOT PEDAL, THE BRAKE ACTIVATION SIGNAL TO CERTAIN TOWED DEVICES MAY NOT DEACTIVATE WHEN THE MOTORHOME SERVICE BRAKES ARE RELEASED. IF THE BRAKE ACTIVATION SIGNAL TO A TOWED DEVICE REMAINS ACTIVE WHEN THE MOTORHOME CHASSIS SERVICE BRAKES ARE RELEASED, THE BRAKES ON A TOWED DEVICE MAY REMAIN ENGAGED DEPENDING ON THE BRAKE CONFIGURATION OF THE TRAILER. A TOWED DEVICE WITH INCORRECTLY OPERATING BRAKES COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
