EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY:WHEELCHAIR LIFT/RAMP

The defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2005-2024 X3-45, 2017-2019 and 2021-2023 X3-45 Commuter, 2006-2007, 2014, and 2018 H3-41, 2005-2020 and 2022-2024 H3-45, and 2019 H3-45 VIP buses equipped with a wheelchair lift. The wheelchair platform bridging device may be too steep, which can cause the wheelchair to become unstable. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 403, "Platform Lift Devices" and 404, "Platform Lift Installations."
The risk: An unstable wheelchair increases the risk of injury to lift occupants.
The remedy: Prevost will replace the wheelchair lift bridging device, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR24-26.

EQUIPMENT; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL: PRE-HEATER

The defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2010 H3-45 VIP, 2024 H3-45 and X3-45 vehicles. The coolant heaters may generate excessive exhaust gas and overheat.
The risk: Excessive exhaust gas may increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, and an overheating heater increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a vehicle fire may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.
The remedy: Vehicle owners are advised not to operate the heaters until they have been repaired. Prevost will inspect the coolant heaters, replace the damaged components, and clean the heater's internal components, as necessary. In addition, Prevost will adjust the air to fuel ratio. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. The defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2024 H3-45 and H3-45 VIP vehicles. The grommet that protects the battery cables passing through a metallic panel was improperly installed, allowing the cables to chafe on the edges of the panel and potentially short circuit.
The risk: An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a vehicle fire may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.
The remedy: Prevost will inspect and reinstall the grommet, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR24-12.

2024 and 2025 Prevost motorcoaches have developed 3 issues that i have concerns with. - 120V AC electrical outlets that break and expose the live power circuit. and create a passenger electrocution hazard. - 120V AC electrical outlet covers that fracture and fall off also expose live electrical circuits. - Passenger seat belt latches that fail in such a way they cannot be securely latched, 2 part numbers for different locations. 120VAC electrical outlet Prevost Part number 565204 12 month fail quantity= 56 Passenger seat belt latches Part Number 867842 12 month fail quantity = 24 Passenger seat belt latches Part Number 868154 12 month fail rate quantity =17 Passenger seat electrical outlet cover Part Number 868292 12 month fail rate = 160

The gasket thickness was increased from 1.5 mm to 3 mm to prevent interference between the collar ends, which previously made it impossible to reach the specified tightening torque. Increasing the gasket thickness ensures sufficient clearance between the collar ends and thus guarantees optimal tightening.
