2014 RAM 1500 Tires & wheels Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the tire or wheel system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Tires & wheels reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Tire size is 275/60R20 115T AT+. Regarding the set of tires purchased from Sam’s Club via Pirelli, all 4 tires are dry rotted along the bead of each individual tire. The tires do not maintain pressure and the pressure drops significantly lower than the recommended PSI regarding environmental changes and ambient temperature in different regions. The manufacturer workmanship of the tire causes deflation in the tires which leads to different tread wear on the tires. I’ve contacted the manufacturer regarding the issue and they have not provided guidance to the merchant as a vendor to replace tires at no cost to the consumer submitting this report. I’m reporting this issue because Pirelli is not upholding their warranty in it’s entirety.

2014 DODGE RAM 1500 FACTORY GOODYEAR TIRES BLOW OUT DURING INTERSTATE DRIVING IN HERSHEY PA MODEL OEM GOODYEAR WRANGLER 275/60R20 I WAS GETTING INTO I-83 AT SPEED OF 45MPH WHEN I HEARD A SOUND. AND JUST DOWN THE ROAD IN I-83 WHEN I WAS AT SPEED OF 60MPH THE TIRE SENSOR CAME UP SHOWING PSI <17. THESE TIRES WERE ROTATED AROUND 5K MILES AND NITROGEN GAS USED. IF I WAS DRIVING AT THE SPEED OF THE TRAFFIC (>70MPH) WHEN THE TIRE BLOW OUT TOOK PLACE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ROAD ACCIDENT. AFTER IT WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIR IT SHOWED A LATERAL BLOW OUT OF THE TIRE. *TR

THIS POST IS RELATED TO NHTSA ID #10585728. I ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE 20 INCH WHEELS/TIRES BUT THE SPARE IS 17 INCHES. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK AND THEY SAID THAT IS THE WAY THEY COME FROM THE MANUFACTURING PLANT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE 17 INCH WHEEL WAS THE SAME HEIGHT AS THE 20 INCH WHEEL SO IT WAS OK. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THEY DO NOT ADVISE PEOPLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 50 MILES ON THE 17 INCH SPARE. *TR
