Car accident. Repaired tires due to abs. Also backlite repair. Leaking water.
Initially while taking a corner at low speed the truck made a clunk and grinding noise which resolved and then while going about 50 mph the grinding noise recurred which prompted stopping the vehicle on the side of the road and when almost to a stop, the wheels locked up causing a slight skid; the vehicle was in 4-wheel auto at the time and with change between 4wd and 2wd serveral times the front tires unlocked and i was able to drive it again. About 4 days later, while driving 70 mph, the vehicle started to make a grinding noise on the interstate, and I started to slow down, but unfortunately, I was on the left side of the highway on a narrow shoulder, and upon getting to a lower speed while in 2WD, my front axle locked up. I placed the vehicle in park, but due to safety concerns, I put the truck back in drive and tried to switch from 2WD to 4WD to unlock the axle, but unfortunately, the truck would not change gears. I then had to quickly get the vehicle to the other side during a time with fewer vehicles, while the left front tire was locked, and I had to drag it across the highway to ensure my safety. The left front tire remained locked, and after multiple attempts, the brake partially unlocked but continued to make a grinding and clunking noise. After some diagnostics, we determined the left front wheel hub was the issue, overheating and locking up. I reached out to mechanics for quotes on repair of said part, and upon reaching out to the dealer that I have used in the past for recalls and oil changes, I was informed there was a recall on said part/software that I was not aware of; the service rep used the last 8 of my VIN to look up my vehicle for the quote and provided the details about the recall. I use the RAM Guardian App which provides updates about recalls and upon checking it does not show a recall nor does it show a recall when i search my VIN and License Plate on the website. This seems to be a common issue based on customer reviews.

Have had several issues with this truck and there seems to be a lot of similar issues: 1. Hemi tick - Had to have the exhaust manifolds replaced because they were cracked for no apparent reason... happened right after warranty was up 2. Alternator (etorque) started whining and had to get it replaced after 100k miles gently driven. Could have left me stranded. 3. Visor falling out (Very Dangerous) No t only in my truck, but when I had 2 rentals from dealership, same truck different years (2021 & 2023) they had the same issue. All of these seem to be a widespread issue!
The vehicle has worn out mechanical components and shakes at highways speeds and the wheels bearing/balljoints are so bad the vehicle swerves all over the road and is nearly impossible to keep under control. I visited the dealer service center and asked for it to be repaired. They answered my call after a week and said they have found nothing severely wrong with the truck and it is ready to be picked up. This is a danger to all drivers on the road also to my girlfriend and I. This is unprofessional and criminal.
ALIGNMENT IS OFF AND I ONLY HAVE 22,000 MILES ON VEHICLE AND IT'S WORN ONLY THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF TIRES ALIGNMENT IS OFF NEARLY 1.5-2 INCHES
I HAVE A 2019 RAM 1500 I BOUGHT LAST YEAR THAT NOW HAS 20,000 MILES. WITHIN 5,000 MILES, I NOTICED BRAKE NOISE ISSUES AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN LEESBURG, VA). THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING FROM BAD BRAKE PADS TO ROTORS TO MOUNTS - AFTER I REFUSED TO ACCEPT THEIR CLAIM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING. AFTER TAKING IT IN APPROXIMATELY 6 OR 7 TIMES, THEY FINALLY CHANGED MOUNTING ASSEMBLIES, AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY. HOWEVER, I STARTED GETTING A VIBRATION BETWEEN 45 AND 60 MILES AN HOUR. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN, AND THEY SAID MY TIRES NEEDED TO BE REBALANCED, ROTATED, AND THEY SUSPECTED THEY HAD UNUSUAL WEAR SOMEWHERE. OF COURSE, THE PERSON TELLING ME THIS PROCEEDED TO SHOW ME MY TIRES AND NOTICED THEY WERE ALMOST LIKE NEW. HE SAID THEY FIXED IT TO THE POINT IT WOULD ONLY VIBRATE BETWEEN 75 AND 80 MILES. SINCE THEN, THE VIBRATION STILL PRESENTS ITSELF BETWEEN 45 MILES AND UP & NOW MY BRAKES ARE SQUEALING AGAIN.
STARTED WITH TELLING ME MY TIRE WAS FLAT. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS DANGEROUS AND THE TIRE WAS FULL OF AIR. THEN TOLD ME ELCECTROIC BRAKES NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. NOT TOO LONG AFTER THAT IT KEPT TELLING ME THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS NOT WORKING. I HAVE NEVER PUT THE TRUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. ALSO THE ABS SERVICE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP 4 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOOK IT INTO THEIR SHOP AND 'FIXED' IT IN A FEW MINUTES. VERY NEXT DAY EVERYTHING STARTED AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE KEPT IT OVER THE WEEKEND. WHEN I CALLED THEM AT LUNCH ON FRIDAY TELLING THEM I WAS BRINGING IT BACK THEY ASKED ME TO WAIT TIL NEXT WEEK TO BRING IT. THIS IS THEIR SECOND CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I BOUGHT A TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE A SMALL FARM AND I NEED IT TO FEED AND WATER MY ANIMALS. THEY HAVE HAD TO GO WITHOUT WATER ONE DAY BECAUSE I HAVEN'T HAD MY TRUCK 3 OUT OF THE FIRST EIGHT DAYS AFTER BUYING IT. ALSO THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE ME A RECEIPT FROM WHEN I BROUGHT IT THE FIRST TIME UNTIL I HAD TOLD THEM I HAD ALREADY CALLED THE AG OFFICE.
THERE IS A VISIBLE CHUNK OF RUBBER MISSING FROM MY TRUCK TIRE. MY WIFE AND I NOTICED THE ANOMALY ON THE TIRE IN THE MORNING RIGHT BEFORE LEAVING TO WORK. I COMMUTE WITH THIS TRUCK MONDAY THOUGH FRIDAY, ON A SMOOTH HIGHWAY. THESE TIRES HAVE NEVER SEEN HARSH CONDITIONS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL, AND DEFINITELY NOT EXPECTED FOR A VEHICLE WITH SO FEW MILES ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAS 18400 MILES AND WAS PURCHASED NEW. THESE TIRES ARE MEANT TO LAST MUCH LONGER (5 YEARS / 65,000 MILES). THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT, THAT CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS ESPECIALLY SINCE ONE DOES NOT EXPECT THIS ISSUE TO ARISE. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN BROUGHT TO AN AUTHORIZED SHOP, WORKERS STATE THAT THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE AND WILL NOT BE COVERED. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. MANUFACTURING DEFECTS SUCH AS THESE SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
HAD TRUCK LESS THAN A WEEK, WHEN MY TIRE PRESSURES ALERTED THAT WERE LOW, ANYWHERE FROM 2-5 POUNDS. FILLED UP, AND A WEEK LATER, SAME THING. THIS ALSO HAPPENED ON MY 2016, BUT ROUGHLY ONCE A MONTH IF NOT LESS OFTEN.
AT 18:00 MILES STARTED DEVELOPING A SHIMMY HAD TIRES ROTATED READ BALANCED HAS NOT CREATED THE PROBLEM
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS "COLD" (36 DEGREES AND BELOW) THE BACKUP CAMERA DOES NOT WORK. THE SCREEN DISPLAYS A COMPLETELY BLUE SCREEN WHEN THE BACKUP CAMERA ENGAGES (WHEN REVERSING, OR WHEN SELECTING THE BACKUP CAMERA VIEW INTENTIONALLY). THIS HAPPENS WHEN IN PARKED, WHEN IN REVERSE, AND WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS 36 DEGREES OR BELOW. I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT TEMPERATURE WHEN THE CAMERA STARTS/STOPS WORKING, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 5 TIMES, AND ON THE DAYS I RECORDED IT THE TEMPERATURE WAS 36 DEGREES, AND 35 DEGREES. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS IN THE 40S OR HIGHER.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
