Each component in detail
What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Electrical
Reports naming the electrical system — wiring, battery, charging, control modules, infotainment and electrical accessories.
From owner reports, verbatim
When driving slowly throught a parking lot, the dashboard warned to put the car in park. I could not steer, speed up, or slow down. I managed to park the car diagonally, and went into park. The vehicle then shut off and I had to turn it back on. Both of my kids where in the car
While stopped at red light, waiting for the green light, the vehicle suddenly gave the park signal, once in park the vehicle shut down. It had to be restarted. My child was in the back seat. This occurred today 10 August 2026
Driver assistance
Reports naming forward-collision avoidance, lane keeping, back-over prevention, cruise control and related electronic driver-assistance systems.
From owner reports, verbatim
The emergency braking system initiated during operating my vehicle (has done it 3 times) for no reason. It locks up my engine and will not let me operate the vehicle. The software went crazy with warnings. Would not allow me to turn off the engine. It acted like it thought I was having a front end collision. I seriously have been afraid to drive. I have this feature turned off, it should never have activated. I have had several electrical issues; example: drivers side running light twice has had to be replaced (first time it was only a few months old); the passenger side had to be replaced. The air pressure warnings are inconsistent, the screen goes black on my Uconnect system; the clock settings change daily. It drops, freezes or reboots constantly. The first week I had my truck the check engine light came on, I took it back to dealer and they found nothing wrong. A few weeks later it happened again; took it back and they said it was a "KNOWN" RAM issue, nothing is really wrong and no fix was available. It comes on frequently, I get it checked each time. It goes off on its own now. I do not trust it. How will I know if it really has an issue???
See attached document for complaint.
Engine
Reports naming the engine itself — including stalling, misfires, oil consumption, cooling and internal engine components.
From owner reports, verbatim
Complete engine block failure. timing chain blew a large hole in the long block. replacing the entire engine.

The dealer replaced the brake tow module the end of June and I was still getting trailer warning lights afterwards and took it back to the dealer and they said everything is fine found no problems that it was possible the trailer hitch was sticking out to far and maybe the sensors were randomly picking up the trailer hitch so I have been driving with no trailer connected and sensors turned off and still getting a trailer warning light on the dash as being connected. I have an Curt 51180 Brake controller I had used on 3 different trailers before the module was changed and I went to pick up my trailer this past weekend and my Curt brake controller will not operate and unable to program it as says trailer disconnected.
Steering
Reports naming the steering system — racks, columns, power-steering assist and steering linkage.
From owner reports, verbatim
The vehicle has experienced repeated failures involving the gear shifter system, electrical system, battery system, and vehicle drive mode controls. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The most serious incident occurred when the vehicle unexpectedly entered Off-Road mode without any driver input while the truck was in motion at low speed. I did not intentionally activate Off-Road mode. The vehicle immediately became difficult to maneuver and did not respond normally. Steering and vehicle behavior changed unexpectedly, requiring repeated forward and reverse movements to safely position the truck. I was concerned about losing control of the vehicle. Had this occurred at highway speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a crash, injury, or property damage. In addition to this incident, the vehicle has experienced multiple gear shifter failures that have rendered the truck undrivable on numerous occasions. The truck has been returned to the dealership multiple times for diagnosis and repair of the shifter system. The vehicle has also experienced battery-related failures requiring roadside assistance on two occasions and a tow to a dealership. The problems have been reproduced through repeated occurrences requiring dealership service. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized Ram dealerships on multiple occasions and repair attempts have been performed. The manufacturer, Stellantis/Ram, has also been notified through a customer assistance case. I do not recall receiving any warning that the vehicle would unexpectedly enter Off-Road mode prior to the incident. However, the vehicle has displayed various warning messages and symptoms associated with prior shifter and battery failures. Exact warning messages are unknown. The vehicle has required multiple repair attempts for safety-related issues and has been out of service for extended periods. I am concerned that the unexpected activation of Off-Road and other issues could result in accidents
A fuse box burnt up while driving in down town Chicago at 35mph causing no power to steer and loss of braking. The vehicle only stopped because it ran off the road hitting a pothole there was total loss of power. towed to the dealer Ram claims it was a burnt fuse box and there is still electrical issues with the truck its not fixed truck has approximately 11,000 miles still under factory warranty with no aftermarket products installed to the electrical system.
Fuel system
Reports naming fuel storage or delivery — tanks, pumps, lines, injectors and fuel leaks.
From owner reports, verbatim
On multiple occasions while pulling across/into traffic the vehicle had a delayed acceleration response with a 1-2 second hesitation causing close calls with unpredictable acceleration coming from a complete stop.
I purchased a new 2025 Ram 1500. Within the first week of ownership, the vehicle developed repeated engine misfires, check engine lights, and electrical issues, including a dead battery. The vehicle was repaired multiple times under warranty. The engine later suffered an internal failure that required complete engine replacement. After the engine replacement, the vehicle developed a new drivability problem. The truck now consistently shudders and hesitates during light acceleration and while maintaining a steady speed. The RPM has fluctuated unexpectedly, and the vehicle feels as though it is being fuel starved. This occurs without a check engine light. The dealership’s technician reproduced the condition during a test drive and confirmed the shudder. Stellantis technical support instructed the dealership to replace the mass airflow sensor as the first step in diagnosis but advised that they do not know whether this will correct the problem. I am concerned that the hesitation and shuddering could affect the vehicle’s ability to accelerate safely when merging into traffic, crossing intersections, or passing other vehicles. The vehicle has been out of service for an extended period while diagnosis and repairs continue.
Visibility
Reports naming windshields, glass, wipers, defrosters and mirrors.
From owner reports, verbatim
The factory-installed tow mirrors on this vehicle present a severe safety hazard due to a major engineering and ergonomic design flaw. The physical size and placement of the side mirrors are excessively large, creating massive blind spots at the front pillars of the windshield. This completely obstructs the driver's forward-diagonal visibility, creating a "blind wall" effect that fully hides oncoming mid-size sedans, motorcycles, and pedestrians when approaching urban intersections, roundabouts, and crosswalks. This layout is entirely unsuitable for normal daily use and causes extreme driver distress due to near-miss situations. Additionally, the advanced safety electronics housed within these mirrors malfunction constantly. The Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) warning lights freeze or lock up on the glass, or the dashboard displays a permanent "Blind Spot System Unavailable" error message shortly after starting the vehicle or deploying the power-folding mirrors. The 360-degree perimeter camera feed also experiences intermittent signal loss. The hardware components are available for inspection upon request. The electrical faults have been confirmed by an authorized dealer but a permanent design fix for the forward visibility hazard is required from the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle several warning messages and lights had illuminated which included a flashing shifter light and on occasions the vehicle would not immediately start. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who performed a software update. After retrieving the vehicle the vehicle experienced additional electrical failures including a back up camera malfunction. The failure mileage was 3,000
Airbags
Reports naming the air-bag system — deployment behaviour, inflators, sensors and warning lights.
From owner reports, verbatim
Hello! car in question was involved in a car accident 12/23/2025- with over $38,000 in repairs, damage frame and heavy front end damage the air bags DID NOT deploy. We are extremely concerned and honestly upset that the unit that is meant to protect didnt do its job. Although there was no injuries but the amount of force of the impact is concerning
Front Airbags deployed without collision. Vehicle shut off and called police. Driver got severe laceration on face from driver airbag projectile. Vehicle was brought to RAM dealer and they recommended replacing all airbag components including ORC. The ORC did not have stored collision data. Attempted to open case with RAM/stellantis but they closed the case without investigating. THIS IS THE SECOND DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT A COLLISION.

Other / unspecified
Reports whose component NHTSA recorded as unknown, or that do not map to one of the categories above.
From owner reports, verbatim
I just bought a new Ram Rebel X 2025 in September. I have 7K miles and the front tires are shot due to factory misalignment! Local dealership South Hills Dodge is ZERO HELP. I opened a case with RAM. They said…“You have to drop off your truck at the dealership before we can escalate your case to a case manager”. My truck has been sitting outside the dealership since I dropped it off on Monday 4-27 and hasn’t moved!! The dealership initially said they would cover an alignment under warranty free of charge but not cover 2 new tires which were caused by the misalignment. They then told me I would have to open a case with RAM in order to get the tires paid for. In the meantime, I asked the service manager if he could get me the current alignment readings. He then lied to me and told me they weren’t able to take the current alignment measurements due to the fact that the front tires were so badly worn. I then took it to my local mechanic to get the current alignment readings without fixing anything so I could have this sheet for my records. It not only shows the toe being out of spec on both front tires but shows the Caster being out of spec. Therefore it was set that way when I purchased the vehicle brand new back in September. I talked to my case manager who was never able to get ahold of the dealership!! I was also never able to get a response to multiple questions through their text service. Finally they reach out after my vehicle sat for 4 days and say I have to pay 19.95 for a tire rotation in order to do the alignment. I then chose to take my vehicle to Jim Shorkey and they fix some recalls and RRTs but “needed to talk w case mgr about tire coverage” So then I have it out with this case manager about the amount of time and money I’ve wasted so far and in a nutshell he tells me that the first dealer said tires were not covered under warranty so they can’t cover them! Basically I was sent in a circle of wasted time by RAM corporation “customer service”!!!
Tire monitoring system started with one tired then on to all tires one at a time came on. Then one at a time went off. Also the big display doesn't turn off when vehicle does. I have to turn truck back on and off again to get it to shut off. Just randomly shuts off going down the road. Passenger screen doesn't turn on most days. Also lights turn on by themselves in thr middle of thr night.

Seat belts
Reports naming seat belts, buckles, retractors and pretensioners.
From owner reports, verbatim
Rear passenger seatbelt behind driver's seat detached from the vehicle. My daughter was riding in the seat with the seatbelt fastened and it suddenly releases. She thought it had become unbuckled somehow, but it actually it had separated from the vehicle where it should have been bolted into place. There were no warning signs if impending failure. My daughter's life was put at risk if there had been an accident or I had to stop abrubtly. The vehicle is in for repairs now. I am having them inspect all seat belts in the vehicle. I have very little confidence concerning my safety and that of my passengers.
6-month-old truck, a seat belt anchor (the connector + bolt) came loose under normal use. That component is part of the vehicle’s restraint system and is designed to stay secure for the life of the vehicle.

Body & structure
Reports naming the vehicle structure, frame, body panels, doors, hood and trim.
From owner reports, verbatim
Loses the memory seat position all the time and seat does not roll back to exit. Speed limit warning setting is forgotten and alerts at 2 mph default, parking camera view fail to come on and must be selected manually, door trim popped off driver door requiring 2 trips to dealer to fix and a third trip to dealer to get seat position memory buttons reconnected as they were forgotten on 2 nd visit.
The tow mirrors that are on this vehicle have to many blind spots and have caused us to have multiple situations of very close wrecks. The latest date being 1/7/2026

Interior & seats
Reports naming seats, latches, locks, linkages and interior fittings.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the doors locked after her husband exited the vehicle. The key fob failed to open the door. After two hours, the vehicle suddenly unlocked. No warning lights were illuminated. Upon starting the vehicle, it was driven to another location but failed to restart. The vehicle made an abnormal trembling sound. The vehicle was jump-started. The brake pedal made a trembling sound. All the warning lights illuminated. The blind spot light was flashing. The instrument cluster was inoperable. While driving, the brakes had to be pumped for it to respond and stop. The contact called the local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, where it was determined the vehicle was working as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and they opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000 during the initial failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The contact owns a 2025 RAM 1500. The contact stated that the auto door lock feature was no longer available on the infotainment system screen display, which rendered the ability to lock the vehicle doors from the inside. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to lock automatically as designed while driving 15 MPH. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 224,000.

Tires & wheels
Reports naming tires, wheels, hubs, or the tire-pressure monitoring system.
From owner reports, verbatim
The contact owns a 2025 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the air pressure was set at 55 PSI and the air pressure levels caused the vehicle to bounce too high while driving over bumps or uneven roads. The contact lowered the pressure to 45 PSI, which caused the vehicle to run smoother however, the tire pressure light remained illuminated. The contact stated that while looking online, the contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V231000 (Tires, Electrical System); and related the failure to the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
