TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 COUNTRY COACH ALLURE. THE VEHICLE HAS A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL NDR1062. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD HIS DOMETIC REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V031000 (EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL). HE HAD A SAFETY CONCERN THAT THE REMEDY OUTLINED IN THE RECALL WAS INSUFFICIENT BECAUSE THE SECONDARY BURNER HOUSING INSTALLED DOES NOT PREVENT A FAILURE; IT JUST CONTAINS THE FIRE, SHOULD ONE START. SECONDLY, THE REPAIR BLOCKS THE SHUT OFF SWITCH FOR THE PROPANE GAS VALVE. HE CALLED DOMETIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD OCCUR EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR. DOMETIC WOULD NOT ASSUME LIABILITY IN THE EVENT OF A FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. UPDATED 07/08/08. *BF UPDATED *JB

THE DASH HEATER/DEFROSTER SYSTEM WILL NOT PRODUCE HEAT WHILE TRAVELING. WHEN STOPPED, SUCH AS AT A STOP LIGHT, THE HEATER WORKS FINE. THIS MAKES THE COACH UNFIT FOR USE ON COOL OR COLD DAYS. THIS CREATES SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE DEFROSTER CANNOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD WITH ONLY BLOWING COLD AIR. THE COACH HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM, THE LAST TIME FOR SIX WEEKS AND NO PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE TO FIND A SOLUTION. COUNTRY COACH REPORTS THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL COACH OWNERS REPORTING THIS SAME PROBLEM. WITHOUT A USABLE HEATER/DEFROSTER SYSTEM THESE COACHS SHOULD BE RULED UNSAFE AND BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
STRUCTURE
ADDITION OF STAINLESS STEEL PLATE IN CARGO BAY UNDER LIVING ROOM SLIDE ROOM AND/OR THE SEALING OF PERIMETER OF WALL CAP EDGE. COUNTRY COACH ALLURE MOTORHOMES. *MR
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
