The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. The defect: ON CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL AND TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH LIPPERT AXLES, DUE TO MISLOCATED SPINDLE WELDS, THE SPINDLE MAY PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM THE AXLE TUBE AND THE WHEEL AND HUB ASSEMBLY MAY COME OFF THE VEHICLE.
The risk: SUDDEN AXLE FAILURE COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
The remedy: LIPPERT IS CONDUCTING THIS RECALL AND WILL INSPECT FOR MISLOCATED WELDS AND REPLACE THE AXLE IF NECESSARY (PLEASE SEE 06E-095). OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT LIPPERT AT 1-877-870-4900 OR CROSSROADS AT 260-593-2866.

CROSSROADS RV HAS FILED CAMPAIGN 06V-475 TO ADDRESS 161 (1) 2007 MODEL YEAR SUNSET TRAIL AND(2) 2007 MODEL YEAR ZINGER TRAILERS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH DEFECTIVE AXLE - SPINDLE WELDS BEFORE THESE AXLES COULD BE INSPECTED BY THE AXLE SUPPLIER, LIPPERT COMPONENTS, FOR THE SUSPECT CONDITION.CROSSROADS RV HAS REPORTED NO ADDITIONAL FAILURES SINCE THE TWO INCIDENTS REPORTED IN MAY 2006 THAT LAUNCHED THIS INVESTIGATION.ODI WILL MONITOR CROSSROADS RV FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS (UNTIL MAY 2007) FOR ANY AXLE - SPINDLE WELD PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS AND WILL INITIATE FURTHER INVESTIGATION IF ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS ARE REPORTED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CROSSROADS SUNSET TRAIL RV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED, CAUSING THE WHEEL TO DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DEICED TO REPLACE ALL WHEEL BEARINGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,600.
