2015 Ford Edge Exterior lighting Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the exterior lighting system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Exterior lighting reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

My brake lights are not turning off. Upon inspection of the brake light switch attached to the pedal, I saw a plastic part (washer) that had broken in half. I believe it is the same issue that affected other 2014-15 Ford models. (https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2022/01/19/ford-recall-brakes-fusion-lincoln-mkz/6580413001/)

REAR HATCH TAILLIGHT LENS HAS CONDENSATION FORM IN IT MAKEING THE LIGHT UNIT FOGS UP. THE CONDENSATION DOES NOT DISAPPEAR IN WARM WEATHER AND IN COLD WEATHER ICE UP. AFTER CHECKING WITH THE DEALER THEY SAY WHEN THEY REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT THIS OCCUR AGAIN. THEY SAID IT IS A BAD DESIGN. I LIVE IN A STATE THAT REQUUIRES A VEHICLE YEARLY STATE INSPECTION.AND FOGED UP LENS IS A CONSERN. THIS DOES NOT LEAK INTO THE LENS IN RAIN OR CAR WASH. THIS AUTO IS KEPT GARAGED EXCEPT WHEN IN USE.
