"Ford Emissions Recall 24E10 addresses defective factory PCM software parameters. After looking under the hood the engine cooling system was severely low on coolant, and a loud sloshing liquid noise could be heard behind the dashboard. The vehicle was brought to an authorized Ford dealership, where technicians confirmed internal EcoBoost coolant intrusion into Cylinder 2 as documented in Ford Technical Service Bulletin TSB 22-2229. This structural design flaw creates an immediate safety hazard, as the engine is at risk of catastrophic failure and stalling while operating at highway speeds.

A month or so ago my car had a rough idle and the mechanic couldn't figure out why. Then last week my car lost power on the interstate, during rush hour. I'm lucky I didn't cause an accident as the loss of power was so sudden and all the traffic around me. Somehow I was able to safely pull over on the shoulder. I had my car towed and the mechanic found that the flex plate had failed and is cracked. As a result the car will no longer start. The recall letter that my mechanic found stated that a rough idle was one of the symptoms of a failing flex plate. My vehicle is 10 years and 3 months old but only has 93000 miles. The dealership said they won't cover it because it is out of date and their customer service line was no help. There were no warning lights or codes that appeared on the display screen. My mechanic found the issue by taking somethings apart.

Check engine light and add coolant warning came on. When I let the car cool down, I looked and noticed coolant reservoir was completely empty. No puddle under vehicle. Walked to nearest auto parts store, bought 2 gallons of the needed coolant. Next day had vehicle towed to repair facility.

Engine coolant keeps getting severely low. I have a ford edge 2016, which I can see online that many vehicles like mine are having the same problems. I am having a severe coolant leak into the engine. It trembles when I start it or when I am at a red light, white smoke leaks out of my exhaust when I first start my car after adding coolant. I am constantly adding coolant, mostly every other day because it burns it so fast. My vehicle alerts me if it is overheating when I am am low in coolant, which scares me to think of a fire. I don't have the money to fix such an expensive repair. I feel that this is Fords responsibility to fix such a big, dangerous and costly issue.

. The car would make 'running water sounds" when turned off and smelled funny. We were feeling odd, migraines, nausea and upper respiratory infections. It smelled like coolant and we became very concerned for our safety. We had just had one recall repaired and cannot believe something else is now at fault! Per the Ford dealership there was a service bulletin stating a known defect in a part that prevents coolant leaking into the engine. Ford shared the bulletin and that the engine cannot be repaired. This is due to a known defect with the part that is even on google as a DEFECT. Ford is now saying I have to pay $6K for a new engine because they cannot repair the defective part because the engine is now ruined due to the leak. I purchased a warranty for the car, but that company is saying this is a defect on Ford. This should be a recall due to Ford admitting fault in the part causing this issue. We are so lucky the car didn't seize on the interstate!

The car has only 82,273 miles on it. We experienced rough idling and took it to a mechanic. They found that the #2 cylinder was cracked and leaking coolant into the cylinder. They also stated that this is a known manufactured defect, but there is no recall by Ford. They gave an estimate of $9000 to get a new modified engine. We took it to another mechanic for a second opinion and he confirmed the crack and charged us $5000 for the new modified engine.

SYMPTOMS IS THE COOLANT DISAPPEARS RAPIDLY AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATS AFTER DRIVING FIVE MILES. ALARMS GO OFF. THE TEMPERATURE GAGE IN THE VEHICLE IS AT ITS MAX. IN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE IS WHITE SMOKE. THERE IS CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. I HAVE LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, AND IS NOT DRIVEABLE. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND FOUND EVIDENCE OF COOLANT INSIDE THE CYLINDER. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED FOR 2 YEARS WAITING FOR RESOLUTION. THE INFORMATION I HAVE RECEIVED FROM FORD IS THE ONLY WAY THEY WOULD FIX IT IS IF I HAD A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT. THE COST ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC IS TO REPLACE THE LONG BLOCK OR REPLACE THE ENGINE RANGES BETWEEN $4000 AND $10,000.

Car kept misfiring and it sounded like water was running when the car was on. After multiple attempts to find a solution I took it to a Ford dealership to remedy the issue and it ended up needing a full engine replacement due to coolant leaking into the engine. The engine failed, they told me there was no way to prevent it because the seals were not fully sealing. Thankfully it did not cause for me but could have caused sudden loss of power, stalled acceleration on highways, failure of power steering and braking systems. The dealership acknowledged that it was an ongoing issue when they serviced it. Unknown. Not that I ever noticed however someone with more car knowledge MAY have been able to see warning signs.
