The defect: FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2009 F-650 AND F-750 TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH CATERPILLAR C7 ENGINE. THE #5 AND #6 FUEL LINES MAY CRACK AT THE FASTENING POINT TO THE COMMON FUEL RAIL AND CAUSE A FUEL LEAK.
The risk: A FUEL LEAK, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
The remedy: FORD IS WORKING WITH CATERPILLAR TO NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPAIRS WILL BE PERFORMED BY AUTHORIZED CATERPILLAR DEALERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CATERPILLAR TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-447-4986 OR FORD AT 1-866-436-7332.

The defect: FORD IS RECALLING MODEL YEARS 2009 F-650 AND F-750 TRUCKS. THE CHASSIS WIRE HARNESS MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITHOUT A CONNECTOR SEAL IF THIS SEAL IS MISSING, THE CONNECTOR TERMINALS MAY CORRODE AFFECTING THE PROPER ILLUMINATION OF THE VEHICLE'S REAR BRAKE LAMPS, TAIL LAMPS, TURN SIGNAL LAMPS OR TRAILER LAMPS (IF EQUIPPED.) ALSO, THE FUNCTION OF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM MAY BE AFFECTED.
The risk: INOPERATIVE LAMPS MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE CONNECTOR AND REPAIR THE MAIN AND REAR CHASSIS WIRE HARNESS IF NECESSARY. A MISSING SEAL WILL BE REPLACED AND ELECTRICAL GREASE APPLIED TO PREVENT FUTURE CORROSION. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 16, 2009. The defect: FORD IS RECALLING 2,811 MY 2008-2009 F-650 AND F-750 TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH C7 OR C9 CATERPILLAR DIESEL ENGINES. THE FUEL PUMP OUTLET CHECK PLUG MAY BE CRACKED WHICH COULD CAUSE FUEL TO SPRAY AND LEAK.
The risk: FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
The remedy: FORD IS WORKING WITH CATERPILLAR (PLEASE SEE 08E042). CATERPILLAR WILL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP PLUG FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CATERPILLAR AT 1-800-447-4986, OR FORD AT 1-800-343-5338 (FLEET OWNERS) OR 1-866-906-9811 (MOTOR HOME OWNERS).

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-650 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT HAD TO MAKE A SHARP LEFT TURN TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A VEHICLE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ACTIVATED AND SHIFTED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO SLOW RANGE TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A CONTROL UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY

Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how to retrieve the master code. This guide is located under the Workshop Manual tab > Accessories > Installation > Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide > PPT C > Step C2.<br /><br /> Note: The only available keypad for some vehicles from the assembly plant is the accessory wireless keyless entry keypad. All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.
